That was really well written, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, though it was a bit disturbing.

After having read your profile, I'd have to agree that Yamato is not the most masculine of characters. But I disagree with you on your overall view of Yamato, for though he *is* feminine (I would not call him effeminate-- the subtle difference means a lot), I don't believe he is as "effeminate" as you think and write him to be. Yes, Taichi is vastly more masculine than Yamato, and Taito is more believable than Yamachi will ever be-- but what are you trying to prove? That Taichi is more masculine? Everyone knows that. I don't know, it's just my speculation that most authors write in order to dispprove something else they don't agree with; and in my opinion, judging from your profile, it seems as though you write Yamato out to be "girly" (which, again I disagree with, because "feminine" does not equate to girly/effeminate) to enforce the idea that Taichi is the masculine one. Though I could be wrong.

Having said that, I do enjoy your writing, and you're entirely welcome to keep writing the way you do (well of course). You're probably writing out your fantasies more than anything, and that's the best erotic way to write.

I didn't write this review to diss you or your ideas. I just wanted to express my view that to me, you write Yamato a bit out of character. But again, characterisation is due to interpretation. But just because someone "blushes" or "cries" does not make them effeminate, you know? Basically, I reviewed to possibly show you what those "other people" (such as I) find it hard sometimes to grasp the way you make Yamato out to be, because realistically (as realistic as you can say about a cartoon character), he isn't as girly as you make him out to be.

"Gender-bending" Yamato, making him an outright girl-- doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of yaoi? I mean, if he's a girl, he's no longer a boy (obviously) therefore it wouldn't be yaoi, but het. Again, I just like to get technical. I am in no way trying to offend you, and no matter how lame this sounds, I did just wanted to present you with a view that, I guess, is "opposed" to your own.

It seems most Taito/Yamachi shippers go to two extremes-- make Taichi the strongest masculine character, and Yamato the wimpy effeminate character; or make Yamato the strong masculine one and Taichi the weak one. I'm saying both views aren't quite right (in my opinion) and the unbiased view (though you can't really judge, can you?) is that Taichi is boyishly masculine, and Yamato is a feminine guy. But again, that's just me trying to find a balance.

Whatever the case, and however you choose to characterise Taichi and Yamato, you are a very talented author, and I'm sure many have enjoyed your fanfiction as much as I have. (I guess my whole rant was basically pushing aside all boy on boy fantasies I have, with all the dominance and submission game thrown aside, and looking at Taichi and Yamato realistically. I hope I did not offend, as I did not intend to. Just my view, you know?)
