Great story, I loved it. People don't focus on the bad element in Shuichi and Eiri's relationship very much. Have you ever read a poem by Robert Browning called Porphyria's Lover? It reminds me a little of this, though the lover is killed for different reasons. It's online, you should look it up. I bet you'd like it.
