Reviews for Equilibrium

So, this is less of a review as it is an inquiry of the fan base. I was an old beta reader for skyler back in like 2015 and I know for a fact that the author wrote up to 34 chapters, I having read and reviewed them. Although I cannot find them anywhere, I still have my copies (I found the flash drive again). Does anyone know where else skyler posted from? Like a different site, I know it wasnt this site that I orginally found this story. I was wonder if anyone, just anyone knew where else skyler posted? Skyler hasn't sent me anything in a verly long time, I'm starting to wonder if the author just gave up and dropped off the radar. (A damn shame if thats the case, it's a very good story)

I started reading this story way back before the revision. I quickly fell in love with the characters and plot. The region you crafted was wonderfully engaging and reading through it never got old. It's been a long time since you've updated and, on a whim, I came to check on the story again. It's just as good as I remember. I know the chances of you reading this are low, you've probably moved on to some other pursuit and left this behind, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this story.

If you ever come back to it, there will be at least one person you know will be happy, and I'm certain there are more who simply haven't said the same. If you do ever come back you could try posting it on Archive of Our Own to get a wider audience.

Wherever you are, and whatever you're doing, I wish you the best. This story will always have a special place in my heart.

I enjoyed this chapter a lot. It's interesting to see your portayal of the everyday life of a trainer, and the Galladevoir thing is a cool deviation from the original.

The first shiny I ever caught was a Rufflet. Wargle's alternate coloring is very patriotic, USA-wise.
Anyway, the Arceus myth doesn't really make sense.

Amazing stuff, as always. Its true to the original, but changed enough to merit reading it again (which is thoroughly enjoyable, as always).

I loved the romance between Mightyena and Gallade last time, so I'm glad to see that's back. I just hope you don't have Gallade take on Zangoose's old role from last time ): I do so like the character and the Mightyena/Gallade pairing.

    Anyway. Update soon plz.

    Your loyal fan,

    Dave.

So gla it's back, not that it really needed a remake. Still 100% awesome.

Interesting rewrite so far, Skyler. I rather like how you've included 5th gen pokemon into the mix (yay Tepig!). I also like how there's a backstory on why the starters for Sedera are fighting/psychic/dark types rather than the usual grass/fire/water types. However, the story feedback is not why I'm making this post. I apologize for my bluntness.

A while ago (Feb 3rd to be exact) when you sent out that email to those of us on the Equilibrium mailing list, you mentioned, among other things, that your hard drive died and you lost all copies and drafts of your stories and related content, and the map of Sedera. You also mentioned "props to Nona" for saving as much as they did.

I sent a reply the next day and I'm not sure if you received it or not (I never got an answer, and I never resent it because I prefer not to bug the author. After all, I'd hate to get random emails myself from people talking about my work.), but I was asking exactly how much Nona had saved. I looked on your new profile on AFF and I noticed that you reposted the first 10 chapters of Equilibrium and nothing else. I did mention in my reply that I have copies saved of Only a Week and all chapters you posted on AFF for Storm and Equilibrium (with ch41 of act7 being the latest entry).

Now, I apologize for being quite frank, as it's not really my business to psychoanalyze, but judging from the amount of what I saw posted, and over the period of about 2 months seeing the whole thing being erased and rewritten, I don't think Nona saved a whole lot. If it were me, and I had lost all but at least 10 chapters of a 70% completed story, then I'd probably use the material from those 10 chapters and my creativity and start the long process again from scratch. I think it's a great and commendable effort, but it's really a far cry from the wonderfully written series that just spontaneously went missing from AFF (What's with that anyway? Did AFF lose your info during the site update/scheduled maintenance? Are the stories linked to people's hard drives? But I digress...).

Again, I apologize for being blunt/possibly overstepping my boundaries/seriously misjudging the whole situation. I don't usually go out loud with a message like this (or even quite so honestly/passionately about it), but I love this story and the other parts of its series. It's the best thing I've read on AFF since Sinners, which I've completely given up on being finished, if even updated. I hate to see the whole thing tossed aside and redone because one has given up hope of getting back to where they were. I'd much rather see it finished as it was, and I feel that I should really stop being silent on my viewpoint of the situation.

I have all the files linked here (http://www.mediafire.com/?h7ad7s4w43n5b) if you want them, but it's your call. Thank you for your time.

You cannot imagine how glad I am to see you back. This is my single favorite fic EVER, so I'm very relieved to see the return of the masterpiece.

Anyway. I'm thinking of starting my own fic, attempting to match this in size, scale and quality (although I'll probably fail, I can try). If/when I upload, I'd really appreciate you reviewing and gving pointers.

Still, this is absolutely brilliant news. Out of interest, why did you leave for a while?

Most importantly, when will A: The rest be back up? and B: When will we see new content?

    Your Loyal Fan,

    Dave.

    P.S

    MOAR. MOAR. MOAR.

Sorry, couldn't resist for old times sake.

I was wondering why I couldn't view Equilibrium on my favorites, but I now figured out something happened to your story and you had to start over. I'm glad you're rewriting it, but whatever happened to make you start over I'd like to apologize that something like that happened. Can't wait for the next chapter, but no rush to you. Peace, man.

    TITTYFUCKING ASSRAPING CHRIST!
    IT'S FUCKING EQUILIBRIUM!

Oh god... It's been like 4 months... I don't know how I survived...

Liking the way the rewrites going. It provides more backstory than the original, but seems... leaner, somehow. Anyway, looking forward to the rest of the story. Great work.
