    To Anon:
I see what you mean with the actual meaning of the word, but I though words in poetry had their own meaning to the author. I like the succumb...to me it meant to fall or befallen. The title basically meant what result will 'befall' upon Shinta to become a man. Succumbed really means befallen, happened upon, chanced, turned out for....see what I'm getting at. Succumb has more than one meaning which is my point..first point actually. The thesaurus can be a writer's best friend. Second point not to sound, nasty, mean, ignorant or bitchy 'cause I love opinions...sometimes, but poetry at least I was told for years and years and years is suppose to have meaning for the author not for the readers.
    Just my opinion...
