Whoah, you work fast! I hadn't expected an update yet, not that I complain, LOL.
Well, you've told us now how Hiroshi should have died, but since he's still here, how did he escape then from the vampire hunters with his life in tact? Did he make a deal with those vampire hunters to set other vampires up so that his life would be spared? Was it just luck? Guess we'll just have to wait a little longer.
Once again I got this picture of 'child Ran' in my head when he seated himself on Ken's lap, nearly started to cry and had to be comforted by Ken. It is just like with a small child! Man Ran really has some serious psychological problems. In the beginning he was such a strong guy and now he's just a mere shadow from who he just to be. It is kinda sad.
When you let Shion think about Ran's mansion that is supposed to be empty, was that a hint to where Hiroshi is at the moment? Has Hiroshi neared our two lovers? And when will Ran's birthday be there cause you said in the first chapter that it would be then that Hiroshi would come and claim Ran. Personally I can't wait for the face to face confrontation!
The interaction between Yohji and Ran was just great, hilarious actually and poor Kenken who got teased with even after that. The boy really has a blushing problem although I think I would have the same problem if my lover would say such things. But why the hell wasn't Yohji there sooner? Ken is his old time friend so I would have guessed that when Schuldig said Ken was in problems, that he would have gone with Schuldig to Ken and Ran's place.
Thanks by the way for the explanation about what had taken place that night cause it still was a little unclair to me. I thought Hiroshi had tried to establish a link to Ken (to get rid of the poor boy) and severed Ran and Ken's link for that purpose but I was a little off.
As for the spider part. If it was me instead of Ken, I would have pushed Ran ASAP of me and bolted out of the room. I'm terrified from those ugly animals and I can get really worked up if I see one (let's say it's almost a phobie with me). So my sympathy goes to Ken and I think he was very brave to have stayed in the room all the same. But why has Ken been locked up in the basement when he was younger? Is this something that will play a bigger part in the rest of the story? It is kinda true that although Ran's past isn't all that clear, that there are also still many questions we can ask about Ken's past.
Well that was it for me for this chapter. Oh no wait, I loved the last sentence in which you say that Ken gives Ran a soft tender smile that Ken only gives to Ran. It was so lovely!!!! Aaahhh love, sighs.

    Till next time

    Hey,
to start with, thank you for finally naming Ran's ex-lover (last time I'll type this) it 'll make it a lot easier to say something about him. And speaking of Hiroshi, I truelly feel sorry for him. It must be horrible to be that obsessed with one person so that nothing else seems to count any more. But wath is this with all these links that all the vampires have with each other? I just thought Ran and Hiroshi were connected but there seems to be a whole lot more persons connected with each other. And I have to say that that is a very nice idea from you, hell it's an excellent idea! Although this of course makes Hiroshi a whole lot more dangerous. Up till now the link between Ran and Ken has been strong enough for Hiroshi's plans to fail, but we can only wonderhow long this will continue. Hiroshi will definately become stronger as time passes (and his obssession takes a turn for the worse for as far this isn't the case yet). So it is time that our guys get into action cause now things have had a good ending but they won't stay that lucky.
I loved how you dumped poor Ken twice. First he is dumped verbally by Ran who calls out to his other lover and to make things worse poor Kenken gets shoved out of Ran's embrace and falls to the floor. Poor kitten. Let's hope three is not a charm.
Oh and by the way, I just love that nick name of Ken. It always makes my heart feel warm when Ran calls him his 'kitten'. It's just so cute and fitting for Ken!
Well that's it for me. Hope to read the next chapter soon and until then,
May the night bring you inspiration!

Yeah, another chapter! (starts doing a victory dance) Okay what to say about this second chapter? Let's start with saying that I'm dead jealous at Ran's ex-lover for the color of his eyes. Man I wish I had stormy blue eyes (pouts a little). But he can keep the rest of his personnality because he just creeps me out. While I was reading the first part I just kept thinking "Man, he's crazy!" It definately gives new meaning to the proverb 'Love makes you do the wacky'. Just keep him away from me!!!
I liked the little scene with Ran and Ken on the soccerfield. Kai made just such a nice comment there that I just had to laugh, but I guess that comment was needed because when Ran and Ken seem to get involved into each other, they just forget where they are and who can see them. And those kids are definately to yopung for sex education!
But poor Ran is really going down hill. At a certain moment (when Ken tells him he won't leave him and Ran just keeps staring at the floor) I couldn't help but think of Ran as a small kid that needed reassuring in a very bad way. Has this maybe something to do with his ex-lover? Does he have some kind of power over Ran? And when Ran thinks Ken isn't coming back because he called another man's name in his near sleep, are you then talking about Ken who calls out Shion's name or is it Ran who calls out his ex-lover's name? It was kinda confusing for me, so please clarify it for me???
And as for Ran's fear that Ken will leave him and that he'll stay behind all alone, I fear it will be the other way around although Ken won't break because of it (he's grown in this, become stronger).
Schuldig and Yohji had their fun also in this chapter. It must have been some pretty side to walk on in and the part with the hose was just brilliant!
Well that's it for this chapter although I'd like to say (or write) a few things in the more general sense.
As I was reading this chapter I began thinking that actually Ran's ex-lover is a victim. He is created by Ran's lust and not his love while the ex-lover (damn it, give us his name next chapter will ye because always typing 'Ran's ex-lover' is so long) probably loved Ran to dead and would have done anything for him even this changing into a vampire.
But in your previous story you let Shion tell Ken that Ran wanted to spend the rest of his days with this ex-lover, so isn't there then some love involved? I don't see some one stay the rest of his life (and in Ran's case that's a very long time) with some body else just out of lust.
And what exactly happened to make Ran believe his ex-lover is death? Was there a fight? Did they have to kill him because he was getting to obsessed with Ran? Did he found out what Ran's motivation was for turning him into a vamp? WHAT????!!!!!
Hope will get some answers next chapter and till then,

    be careful at night!

Hey, when you ended 'Night's addiction' I thought it would take a long time before you would write a sequel, if you already were going to do it. So guess how surprised I was when I saw that you had posted the first chapter of the sequal!
Well to begin with, I just LOVE your idea to let Ran's old lover return to the scene. You can do a whole lot with that, but for the moment we will just have to wait and see which way you'll be heading.
The beginning of the chapter where we have the description about Ran's old lover who'se watching over the land, is very beautiful. I'd say that it's almost something like how a movie could start. You described it so well that I was able to imagine it without a problem and that I was immediately swept away in the story.
When you ended 'Night's addiction' I wondered how Ken would react to Ran having changed him into a vampire. I found it nice from you that you answered the question in this chapter. And I have to say that it really is true love that our Ken feels for Ran since he hasn't only forgivin the cheating but also that Ran changed him in a moment of weakness.
Shion's speech to Ken was wonderfull! It held so much wisdom and showed very good that Shion has been around many centuries and has gathered a lot of wisdom during that time. While I didn't love the Shion from the previous story (I found him a bastered there) I love this one and I hope he'll be showing up a lot in the story.
And how much has changed since the previous story. In 'Night's addiction' it was Ken who was afraid all the time that Ran would leave him and now the roles are reversed. We have a very angsty Ran who'se scared to death to lose his lover. It just shows how much stronger Ken has become and when Ran's ex-lover shows up, Ken won't go down without a fight and even if he would lose Ran, I think he would go to the end of the world to win him back if that is what it would take. (Let us just hope that Ken just doesn't get killed by Ran's ex-lover)
The scene where Ken repeatedly hits his head on the nightstand made me laugh a bit and I don't know who I have to feel the most sorry for, Ken or the poor nightstsand, LOL!
So Ran has also a dark past, NICE!!! Lust can be a very powerfull emotion and I wonder how much hold Ran's ex-lover will still have over Ran because of this power. (Ran has already the feeling that some one is calling him and sees his ex-lover, so ...) I just can't wait to read whats going to happen further!!
By the way, how many time has past since Ken has become a vampire?

    Kisses and hugges

Cool a sequel. I bet I'll enjoy this as much as the last story. Ken is such an easy character to get obsessed with. Ran better watch it!
