Nice new chapter, it's nice to see Shuichi's family finally come see him and I liked to conversation between Yuki and Maiko. I hope he takes her words to heart and tells Shuichi. And I can't wait to see how he interacts with the band. Also is Ryuichi coming too from New York with them or is he going to stay in NY. I can't remember if you went into that before. To talk about your author's note, most of what you went over wasn't really an issue with me, the only thing that really bothers me in this story in Annette. Even with what you said I still don't like Annette and I still want her gone, I know it's in human nature to be selfish, but if you really love someone then you were care more about doing what's right to keep them happy than what would happen to yourself, even if your not always correct. Like in Yuki's situation, he's not correct in keeping that information from Shuichi but he seems to mistakeningly think that Shuichi would be better off with Annette than with him. I also understand that things happen and relationships are two way things, but I think that someone who has amnesia, is in a country alone where they don't understand the language isn't completely.....ummm.....I can't think of the word......oh yea..competant, I don't think a person like that is completely competant enough to make a decision to enter a relationship in that kind of situation. It's like when a minor enters into a relationship with an adult, when the person is charged with statutory rape, it's said that despite it being consensual the person doesn't have enough information to make a competant decision. I think that's what happened in this situation, Annette knows exactly who she is, where her family is, she knows where she is and she knew that she had nobody she was leaving behind. Shuichi is all alone in a country he does not know with nobody he knows, not knowing who he himself is, he is surrounded by people who speak another language, he's probably scared, so of course he would try to latch on to the one person who probably made him feel a little less scared. Also, I think that him speaking japanese should be a clear indication that he's probably from Japan, and if he's as famous as he's made out to be, in the story and the series, and in the news constantly they could have found out who he was, even if they just scanned japanese newspapers. Now we all know Shuichi's a little scatterbrained:), but Annette seems perfectly intelligent (and also able to communicate with those around her), she should have been able to think of that. And I think if she'd truly cared about him, she would have made an effort to find out who he was (by just doing that for awhile) before she decided that it was ok to start a relationship with him. That's my opinion at least, but then again I might be a bit biased by the fact that I hate her, want her gone far far away, and I want Yuki and Shuichi back together. So yea.....to go on to some of the things I've read from other reviewers and then your response, I have to say I have to go with the reviewers a bit. I think the story is dragging a bit, not saying that they should just find each other and get back together despite Annette, but I do think that you could gloss over a few things a bit. Then again maybe you can't.....I dunno. I think it would take seeing how the story would turn out if things went quicker to really decide which would be better, not saying you have to go out and write a second version, just saying. Anyways that's all, I did like this chapter, I just wish that we could see Yuki and Shuichi back together and Annette completely gone. I know though that since you seem to like Annette, that she would probably stay in the picture as a friend at least, but I hope we get to that point quicker. No More Shuichi and Annette, more Shuichi and Yuki

It's sad when ppl get so caught up in the world of fanfiction that they forget how to lose themselves within the flow and emotional turmoil of a great story (yes, I consider your story to be a great one ^_^). I found it rather amusing how Shuichi didn't feel like dancing when Yuki wasn't there. It never fails to amaze me how affected by Yuki he is, even if he doen't realize it.

*makes a small bow* sorry if i seemed a bit pushy with wanted a clichè ending. i really didn't want it, not just as a clichè. because yuki's and shuuichi's relationship is definitely not without a lot of angst. obviously since yuki hasn't said anything and shuuichi remembers their relationship, yuki's ass is going to be buried. i think i was just acting on the obvious sexual tension between them in the story. again, apologies.
this new chapter is really great. wonder what'll happen when he meets his band mates? if you bring tohma into this, something is bound to explode, given that shuuichi and tohma never liked each other much.

I can understand both sides of the arguement. All that ever mattered to Eiri was seeing that Shuichi was happy and if that means being with someone else, then so be it. Though it must be hard ofr him (obviously) because he is such a possessive person when it comes to Shuichi. Then again, I can understand Maiko saying he needs to tell him. When my boyfriend was cheating on me, I heard it from my friend and that hurt worse than NOT hearing it from him. Myabe telling Shuichi the truth would help him to remember more, especially to help clarify all these things he is feeling and remembering. *Sigh*. Oh, well. I'm just glad I'm not in thier shoes. This was another great chapter. Can't wait for the next one.

First off I want to say that I really enjoy the story so far. Although some things confuse me, and I want to take this time to adress them. Since they've been bugging me for a while. I'm confused about the fact that Shu is a Japanese Citizen, right? and they knew that at the hospital, so why did they let him go? I found that strange, since the US doesn't normally let non-citizens run around even with memory loss. Would it be logical to send him back home? But then again, maybe not. I might be way off on that.

Another thing that's bugged me, is Shu. I know he doesn't remember, and that he was most likly very scared. But wouldn't he want to find out who he is? And wouldn't the Japanese cousilet be the best place to start looking? But it seemed like he just shrugged and started his new life like he really didn't care if he had family. And that's another thing, the thing that bugged me most, and yes I think I place most blame annette, because Shu doesn't remember. Hadn't they thought that he might have someone at home? Possably kids? A wife? A boyfriend[which he had] but did any of these things cross her mind? She must have thought of it, and now that she has, it's like, well she's worried about where she'll be, and not about the people that Shu had hurt.

And what about Shu, it seems like he wrote off his life before the accenident like it didnt matter? From what I read in the manga, that I only got as far as the cooking show, but he was gay. I mean he chased after Yuki, and I dont believe it was just for the songs and stuff. So I was surprised that he wound up with a girl, but not as much if he had ended up with another man. I guess I would have figured he would have been a little weiry about starting a relationship with anyone unitl he figured out who he was.

I don't understand why Yuki is lieing, because he knows how hard Shu fought for a place in his life. And it seems like that Yuki is saying that it doesnt matter, all that they've been through, and what they mean to each other. I understand that Yuki being wiery that first meeting. But the fact that he wants the family to lie, and bandmates. Is it his way of saying I'm hurt, but its okay. I figured Yuki more the type to grab him by his ear and drag his butt back to Japan wheather the boy wanted to go or not.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the story, even if it seems like the same issues are getting hashed each chapter. And it seems like nothing is moving. I like your writing style, and this story is very well thought out, and really grabbes the reader in. I love how we get to see the struggle between them, and I hope to see Yuki and Shu rediscover their relationship, 'because what the mind can't remember, the heart can't forget.'

    Thanks for the great read.

    Oh. My. God.

You have me squealing with anticipation. The next chapter would be -the perfect- chapter to slip a kiss in. With Shu and Yuki... I think you could pull it off, and have Shu run off or something. It would be gorgeous! -groans-

You're driving me effing wild woman!!

And I have to agree with KaySan666, it's really not fair to start a relationship with someone who has no memory of their life. It's not fair to Shuichi or to anyone he might have waiting for him. And only now, when she feels like she might lose out, is she even thinking about the fact that he might have someone else. And even then she's thinking about it from her selfish POV. "What if he’s got another girlfriend back in Japan waiting for him? Where would that leave her?" She's not thinking about the fact that this person could have been with Shuichi for years and spent months agonizing over whether or not he was alive and where he was, if he was hurt, etc (which all applies to Yuki). She's just worried about herself. Wow now KaySan's comment has really made me hate Annette. Get rid of her, the evil Bitch:D

Well written chapter as always, I just wish things would move a bit faster. Your story always makes me so sad for Yuki. I know that Annette is nice enough, and it seemed like you were trying to build a little sympathy for her in this chapter but I can't help it. I want her gone, GONE GONE GONE!!!! I want Yuki and Shuichi back together. I'm hoping that's what your leading towards cause if this story ends with Shuichi and Annette together I will cry, long and hard (and I don't usually cry). Are you planning for the story to go on much longer or can we look forward to Yuki and Shuichi getting back together soon? Anyways good new chapter, update soon, and please please make Annette go far far far far far faaaaaar FAAAAAAAR away.:D Thank you

"She was attracted to him, but it felt a little too much like the attraction a moth had to the flame. It was very, very beautiful….and completely suicidal."

Best. Description. Of. Eiri. Yuki. Ever. ^_^

Anyway, I think this situation needs some Ryuichi Sakuma intervention. Only Ryu could possibly untangle this mess, and by "untangle," I of course mean, "inadvertantly-spill-the-beans-and-create-total-uproar-in-a-really-messy-way."

I eagerly anticipate the next chapter.
