I read this a few weeks ago, and when I read the Depravity update, and some of the comments on it, I was reminded that I hadn't commented on this work, and went to see the comments it had gathered.
I don't know why we read finished works silently... perhaps we think that the story is too old- the author wants comments on current works, works in progress. Perhaps it has something to do with keeping our own emotions and fantasies private, to play in your garden secretly, without leaving something of ourselves behind.

With a work like this, it's like getting a tattoo without the artist ever knowing who you were or what you looked like. An artist created a work, and part of it was tattooed on you, and you never said anything.
I don't think it's possible for a tattoo artist to tattoo someone, know he or she has tattooed SOMEONE, but not have any idea who or how many. It is possible for a writer or another kind of artist to do so.

This is a beautiful work, true and ugly and honest. It's sick and noble, violent, vulgar, horrifying, and uplifting. It is a reflection of the most intense moments of life. Fear, hope, anger, rage, violence, protection, revulsion, anxiety, restraint. K being restrained is a nice touch that underlines the gravity of the piece. Hiro and K moving as a pair of attack dogs, familiar with each other, to protect... not exactly Yuki, not exactly Shuichi, not exactly his abuser. But they are there to protect, as is Toma and Mika, taking the less glamorous but extremely important roles they do. They're like the cowboy who closes the gate behind the herd: most of the time he's just standing there, but his is the most important job of all, because without him, all the livestock would escape and render the herders' jobs moot. Suguru's uncertainty. Yuki's insanity.
    Life.

Rape is something that has achieved the status of a plot device in the world of fiction... at least on the internet, and rape has been a standard in the porn industry to varying degrees for some time. I have seen and heard of authors who write rape and have the victimized character completely better after two boxes of kleenex and some chocolate chip cookies- and some therapy sex from the hero of the story. This is ridiculous, belittling, and in some cases very sick. It's making light of something painful and sadly prevalent.
I'm fortunate to never have been a victim of any kind of sexual abuse. I have two very dear friends who are not so fortunate. They're beautiful, courageous, strong women who would be first in line to comfort, and first in line to smack the shit out of somebody for being an ignorant ass. As one has said to someone else mid-hysterics, "therapy doesn't work for everyone. Counselors didn't do a damn thing for me, but with help or without it, you've got to pull yourself together and get over it, because you can't throw soda and scream every time a fictional character on the TV is sexually assaulted. Yes, it's a big deal, because it's wrong and terrible, but it sure as hell doesn't define who I am. It isn't even on the list for the important parts of me. I got over it. So take a few deep breaths, calm down, and start getting over it."

I just... like this story. Shuichi (and Yuki, with Shuichi prodding him in the butt) is getting over it. Yes, he lost it seeing his attacker. Who wouldn't? But he pulled himself together after the attack, he went back to work, and he started to get over it. He'll continue to heal and grow, as will Yuki, after this, and that's why this piece is so beautiful. It speaks of hope.
Hope liberally covered in snot, but in my experience that's the best kind of hope there is.

    Congratulations.
