It includes Near? woah I can't see Near giving lessins XD
For some reason, the more they talk about it, the more I doubt about their relationship being frienship at all...
Very nice. Mello's a clever bastard.

Let's see if it'll cut off my review today! XD

"Ah, yes, your case." Hal sat up a little straighter. "So now that you've ascertained that I wasn't trying to kill you, note the past tense, what are you going to do?" She frowned. "In fact, what's so dangerous to you about it? Other than the fact that I'm so annoyed with you for taking it?"

HAHAHA "note the past tense"! XD Great mental image there. Though I think Halle's the toughest character on the show.

Matt replied thoughtfully, "I reckon about an hour, tops." He was chewing on the cuticles around his fingernails. "Because you'd tell me, I'd hack every government mainframe I could find in Islamabad. Sooner or later I'd find access to the President's private number, then I'd give it to you."

Oh that Matt! Contradicting little jerk! XD Mello's secret little advantage! He can do what Near's team can do, just...illegally! XD

"You'd be unlikely to have one for your phone either. If," Matt chuckled, "we should ever be in the middle of Siberia trying to contact the President of Pakistan, and Near was being an arse, then my laptop would be perfect, because after this conversation I'm going to ensure my list is on my hard-drive."

    HA! XD MATT WINS!

"And what if your laptop had had a nasty accident involving being shoved up your jacksy?"

Best terminology I've ever heard. XD

"Oh. Yes. Matty, don't joke about domestic violence. That's very wrong."

    No really. XD

He maintained that it tasted better in coffee than the tap water, though Matt always laughed at him and said that bottled water was tap water sold to idiots who deserved to be parted from their cash.

hahahaha It's my parents! I dunno what there deal is with bottled water, but we sure waste money on it. XD hehe

GOD I love this fic. Now I should probably go oekaki. 8D

    Nine Lives:

*smirk* Inorite? However, the way I see it is that Hal needs Mello more than Mello needs her. She's in quite a vunerable position in Wammy's House and it could derail her career big time. Which doesn't mean that she is going to lie down and play dead with them. She is a brave woman, that's canon. 8D

    Melissa:

Ah! Thank you for the clarification. For some reason, I thought you were Dutch, not American. LOL I've been thinking that you've been reading all of this in a second language too. Idk why AFF has cut your comment in half. It didn't actually look cut up on my screen. :p

    MattKun:

I haven't got MSN. -.- However, we're all hanging out at http://mrs-jeevas.mangabullet.com/ if you want to catch up outside AFF.

Glad you're enjoying the story. 8D

Holy crap. I dunno if this is just my computer, but I think it keeps chopping my reviews in half. D: UGH!!! WHY??

Well a freshman in high school would be about 14-15 years old, and a freshman in college would be about 18-19 years old. And it works either way really, since girl normally do get worked up over boys between 14-18. xDD

Now Hal was oohing and ahhhing at their home with a vigor that was delighting Mello. Matt briefly considered telling them to go and get a room, but it was also nice to see Mello not being overtly paranoid for once.

    Awwwwww! See, she forgave him!

    Woo this was unexpected!
Also, Hal's a brave woman! i don't know if, after what they did to her, I would dare to go to their place LOL

    Nine Lives:

LOL Yes, you called it. All the time I was writing it, I was thinking that this is so transparent, as Mello really would be battering the door down within the hour. The second I wrote, 'He's got until half 5', I knew I'd given the game away.

I do love Hal though, even though she did pwn Matt. She was trying to save Mello at the time though and she didn't know Matt, so there's a tad of justification there. Yes, Hal's 5ft 9" to Mello's 5ft 6" (and Matt's 5ft 5"). I used a height reference whilst writing this: http://spirit-the-titan.deviantart.com/art/DN-Height-Refs-58589977 Hal would be the same height as L and Raito in that picture. Incidentally, stuff like that is SOOOOO useful for writers. You artists have it all in your heads already, but we have to hunt through your work and hope that you were drawing realistically. For example, when Mello caught Matt's fringe too short, I had to pause writing and hunt through for someone who had drawn Matt's fringe too short. I ended up using the picture you did of them as kids, because his hair was slightly shorter and tidier then. Thanks for that. It helps fix it in my mind.

    Hal as Linda? Nooooooo!

    Melissa:

Glad you're enjoying it. :D I'm not sure about the freshman thing, but I do recall a group of teenagers on a forum once talking about becoming freshmen. They were the age group I was imagining Hal being at the time, so I'm hoping that I've got the terminology right. LOL The perils of a Briton trying to write about an American. *smirk* Last night, I had Miyamashi in messenger trying to determine what would be impressive in terms of history to Hal. I thought I'd start really modern - 1851? ... Ok, so an American would be impressed by 1851. Shit! What do they think when they see our Bronze Age monoliths? :o

"In my defence, it was his idea." Mello shrugged. "But I take joint responsibility. We've been investigating you. I'm sorry."

Matt waved the cigarettes in the air. "And I was down to my last two, so we stopped investigating you."

hahhahahahaha Omg! That Matt! He DOES have the attention span of a flea~

    "Where's Tweedledum?"

"He's nipped outside for a cigarette."

    *grins at Alice reference*

She had not come close to losing her temper like this since she had been a freshman and Corey Badermann had started flirting with Carl Lewis, despite knowing that Hal had fancied him.

hahhaaha! I LOVE Hal! To freaking death! She hasn’t lost her tempter since high school (college?) And it was over a boy! Hehe

"There's a 5% probability that this is dodgy as fuck."

"When Near says things have a low probability, what he actually means is that it's almost certainly true."

"Oh!" Mello straightened again and wandered around to the bonnet. "So he makes the percentages up as well. Interesting."

It’s true! XDD And that makes it all the more funny! Haha I love it!

Hahah well, dunno if she was your friend before, Mello, but sure she won't be anymore XD
And yeah, Matt deserves an Oscar. I feel a bit sad for Hal, poor woman is always being tricked by these two, but she deserves it a bit, because of what she did in canon to Matt >.

I don't know. I guess if Matt was tired of being punched and beaten, he'd try to run away on hiw own, abd wouldn't asl Hal for help. Running to the House to cry Hal about how mean Mello is doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'd make Matt do. I may be wrong...
Also, it would mean that you want to give this series an end where they're not together, and that's very sad T___T

Melissa: Yes, but Matt's got away with it. Now he can say 'volim te' and Mello's happy... ish... while Matt doesn't have to think about what he's saying. As for the bed thing, you just highlighted a typo, that should be 'loll about in' not 'loll apart in'. LOL Testing Hal's loyalties, you reckon? Mmmm... But what if Matt has just had enough of being Mello's punchbag?

Nine Lives: LOL You and Melissa both read it the same way. Poor Matty, no-one's ever going to take him seriously, even when he hasn't a square inch of unbattered skin on his body. *shakes head* What can he do?

OK i'm totally sure Matt's just faking all this shit to try to catch Hal betraying Mello. I also think Mello knows, or otherwise he'd be already at Wammy's. But I still don't know about Hal's intentions -_- I don't know if it's me being really slow.

Anyway, this is very interesting. I can't wait for the next chap! *bites nails*

"Does the little girlie want me to say romantic things to him?" Matt stroked back Mello's hair. "Pretty Mihael! Niño bonito! Te amo; te deseo, amado mío."

Mello sighed. "Go back to volim te, you sarcastic bastard."

hahahahahaha!! *pokes at Mello's masculinity* He is SUCH a girl sometimes~!

Mello's eyebrows shot into his hairline. "Matty, we have a king-sized bed. I've got about three miles of space here to loll apart in, feeling lonely, while you barricade yourself into less than a foot of space right at the end. I might as well be sleeping alone. Has it never occurred to you that being held while you fall asleep might be nice?"

An over dramatic girl. That's what he is.

Anyways~ I can't help but LOL at Matt retreating back to Wammy's after the talks of "I love you" the night previous. And the fact that Mello wants to be hugged in his sleep. (Ooooh he's such an evil bastard. xD) This is an extreme step to find out where Hal's loyalties lie, for sure. But all the more interesting. I love it! DYING for more over here. Lyk srsly.

Thank you! *snog* I couldn't copy it. I looked up what I wanted to say on a Spanish language site, on the basis that you'd tell me if it was wrong. I saw niño, but the word was in php and wouldn't let me copy it. I haven't got ñ on my keyboard, no. Ta for that!
