You know, the way you were describing that opera, it reminded me of the movie "Shawshank redemption" - a very good one, if you haven't seen it I advise you to. Anyway, there in the Shawshank prison, the hell hole it was, the prisoners by chance were able to listen to a piece of Aria from Mozart's opera. It was in Italian and one prisoner told he didn't want to know what they were singing about, for he wanted to believe it was something so beautiful the worlds couldn't describe... I'm sorry for all that rambling but your story was very good and it brought this thoughts =]
    Thank you,
    Ithil

Your writing is amazingly angsty, open-ended and good. I'll say it again: not a fan of the angst-fics, but for some reason I like yours.

Do you do requests? Because if you could write a one-shot relationship piece where the boys get together without the death and the unspoken crap, I'd imagine it'd be darn good.

I really like the way this is narrated. I don't know what it is, but it just seems a bit different; more feeling, a direct conversational element, perhaps? I must also agree with Jayne on the quote - dirty, not quite vulgar, but intimate, too. *sigh* Another bit of something I wish I had thought up.

This is incredibly well-written. Your self-criticism is undeserved. And 'fuck me gently to peices' is truly inspired. Gawd, I read that and I was like, "you should be a poet!" And the way you portray Vash is spot-on. ^.^ Excellent, excellent, keep up the good work, and I hope to see more from you around here!

And, by the way, what made you choose opera? It fit so well and was such an excellent allegory.

I am one of those strange people who actually review fics when I read them, regardless of the hitcount. However, I will only review under two circumstances: 1 - the fic and the author have the potential to become something rather excellent, given some revisions/extra work/spellcheck, or 2 - the fic and the author are so wonderful I can't stand NOT to say something in glowing praise of them. Either that, or my co-author Jayne has already reviewed and said basically the same thing I was planning to. Your fic - and you - fall under the second category, I am happy to say. I absolutely LOVED this story. You write Vash in much the same way I do - that is, you give him more than a modicum of intelligence. Go you! I especially liked the run-on quality of the paragraphs; some people might say its harder to read that way, but I think its in keeping with the constant stream of thoughts running rampant through dear Vashu's head.
You also seem to have picked up on the fact that there are a great many things being left unsaid between our two heroes, and I liked how you brought it out into the open with the subltle - or not - opera reference, and left things up to the recipient of the story.
All in all, a most excellent story. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and will be looking for more by you in the future. Keep up the good work!

P.S. I adored the phrase 'fuck me gently to pieces'; its going in my Notebook of Things I Wish I'd Come Up With.
