Reading anything you write is always a pleasure, but this is already showing signs of becoming one of my favorites.

I think my absolute favorite line was the one deadpanned by Soujiro: "I was a ruthless killer who believed only the strong lived and the weak should die. I think they caught on pretty well."

You have a way of capturing the very essence of the characters - mindsets, emotions, strengths and weaknesses that is captivating and utterly believable. You're even able to bring to life and flesh out minor characters in the RK manga that under any other circumstances would be forgettable (Sarujiro, for instance).

It is also interesting to read your take on Soujiro. No doubt his coming to terms with his existance would have a profound effect on his personality. And while most authors tend to turn him into a 'mini-kenshin' - a tragic, guilt driven character suffering from MPD :) - you take a completely different route, and one that I find refreshing. He regrets his past and feels guilt for his crimes, that much is obvious, but instead of beating himself up over it and trying to become a saint in order to repent, he looks to the future with (admittedly guarded) optimism.

A brilliant second chapter. Bravo. *sends you a virtual chocolate cake topped with... hmm... topped with a spikey black haired fighter for hire, a brown-haired half human soldier and... chris hall :).

the pairing is very hard to accept and unlikely, but if you develop it well, it could be something. try hard to convince me, i'm a major k/k fan :] update soon!

Great chapter, i always thought that kenshin/shura would make a good couple if they meet under different circumstances. I haven't read very many stories involving shura so it is quite exciting. Keep up the good work and update when you have time please. Also if you need an opinion on something I'd be glad to help.

sorry... I know I've already reviewed this, but I went back and reread 'crossing the line' to refresh my memory. Given the circumstances under which you have kenshin parted from the kenshin-gumi, shura is definately an excellent choice! There's also the fact that she's a bit closer to him in age. I always hated the big age gap between kenshin/kaoru... I mean, I know the setting for the manga/anime is post meiji japan, and the age difference does not have the same stigmatism it does nowadays... but I can't help but to liken it to someone my age falling for a high school student, even though the circumstances are much different. I suppose that's why I tend to write RK crossovers, if only to put ken-san in a better match.

Shura has plenty of her own skeletons, and has left a significant trail of blood herself. And her expressed interest in Kenshin was canon... AND she's not megumi, so bravo! I think you could really make this pairing work!

You should also hook Megumi up with Enichi... think about it: the former yukaza gangster with a former opium developer. Just an idea... I don't think its ever been done before :)

I think this shows real promise. One of my biggest gripes about RK is that there is no strong female character who can really handle both sides of Kenshin's personality well. I always liked Shuru, even though she was just a minor character. And there was definately possibility there... can't wait to see where you are going with this!

It's such an unlikely pairing, but I'm happy that the fic's taking its time to set up something plausible to explain it. Glad to see that Kenshin won't be alone for long! I cheered for Sano and Kaoru but felt sorry for that idiot rurouni at the same time...
