Reviews for Something In-Between

Mmmk, well, i've just finished all, what is it, 28 chapters of this beast so far, so now it's high time for a review! *deep breath*

i hate this story. i love this story. this story upsets me (silly, i know), and yet i can't stop myself from reading it. aside from the Shu/Yuki OOCness (slight and most probably intentional), the rest of the characters are spot on. It's cute, its angsty, and what's that other one? Oh yeah - unbelievably HOT! I love the Kyosuke/Suguru/Hiro thing. I love Kyosuke, he's brilliant, manipulative, and incredibly sexy. I loved Tohma's arrest (the bastard had it coming), it was hilarious. And, though this is getting long, i have to comment on my favourite thing of all:

Ryuichi. Sakuma-sama has always been my favourite Gravi character, and I think this is a great way to portray him - a harmless, Kumagoro-toting child, and an evil mastermind, manipulative enough to rival Tohma. Also, I have a soft spot for Lewis Carroll, so that just makes it even better. I would love to see some of his and Tatsuha's relationship, and find out just what their kinks are.

i'm shutting up now, i love it, good job!

Well another part of the arc and I wasnt disappointed. I a still totally in love with this story and am eagerly moving on to the next part right now. It's going to be strange being up to date with the updates hehe, can't wait.

Yet again I loved the way this story panned out. The ups and downs were a little less of a rollercoaster, after all the angst levels were pretty constant. However you managed to keep me hooked by throwing in plenty of curve balls. Including the wonderful threesome which has me totally SOLD! :oD

Talk about hot! hehe I love it, never thought that Kyo would turn into such a major player (no pun intended!) but I'm glad he did. His and Hiro's relationship is ore...brutal (?) than i expected but somehow it totally fits Hiro's mild mannered personality. We all have our emotional outlets and Kyo seems to be his. To introduce Suguru into the mix was a stroke of genius, and not just cos im a bit of a Hiro/Suguru fan to begin. It gives the relationship something to stop it from becoming another Yuki/Shu angst fest, letting it have its own space to grow and breathe. A great way to break the tension and give the reader some relief, love it!

I was a little surprised by some of Shu's reactions in this arc, however it all came together quite nicely. His being sick scared the living hell out of me, however the las couple of chappies thankfully cleared my worries of there being some serious grief approaching. phew! I dont think Yuki could take losing Shu totally! Although it's nice to know Shu's sticking ti his guns a little and accepting the fact that he cant quite handle everything to do with Yuki. The confusion sees to me, very real and much more interesting than a simple acceptance of an apology.

However my favourite part in this entire story has to be, Tohma the pimp! LOL And not only that but Tohma getting arrested! I havent laughed so hard at a single sentence in a long time, but the start of that chapter had me rolling. I was amazed at how much I was provoked into thinking about Tohma's relationships with everyone, especially Ryu, and it was an intruiging experience. I've never been particularly drawn to him, have been very angry with him on many ocassions, but I found myself drawn into the chapters you wrote from his pov and the all the plottings and schemings were genius and hysterical.

So yeah, once again thank you for a very enjoyable story. There are a million little things i could keep rambling about, like how I loved Miki and her relationship with Shu, how I cant believe the idea of a belly piercing actually sounds really hot on a guy now, and how I'm totally befuddled and intruiged by Ryu and his relationship with Tats... but I'm afraid I'll never stop!

Keep writing, this is a great universe and has captured me entirely!

Glad to I didn't get to miss the ending of Something In-Between as had been following the story arc for a while. Especially enoyed this one as was one of the best in terms of the characters coming together. I thoroughly enjoyed your writing and your original character. Liked how you gave Shuichi another dimenshion beyond just being totally happy and childlike (a characteristic which am glad to see still comes across in your fic) as well as made both Tohma & Suguru more 'human'. The threesome chapt was totally hot (as are all the lemons) ... beyond sizzling! Can hardly wait for the next arc. Keep up with the excellent writing and kudos to your betas and muses!

I really like your writing, it makes the story that much more interesting. The way you word things are great. I love how you're twisting this in my mind and making me want to scream at you for breaking yuki and Shu apart but at the same time I want to hug you and thank you for having a very good story. So here is a collaboration of both

    GET THEM TOGETHER AGAIN~!

Great story and don't mind me with my insanity~!

You said youhad to read the others to keep up but I found that I could keep up ok without that (I will read the others though) . I laughed , i cried, I laughed menically and wrung my hands in evil thoughtfullness. This is really really good and fun to read. I love the was you write Thoma. It is a scream. I need a bete to read my notes I think to be sure they are typed right. But it all ends up that this is a great and complicated story and cant wait for the next chapter.

Ohhhh, I love how you wrote this chappie in Tohma's POV. It was rather refreshing to read from his view, and my my my that boy is devious to the extreme. But, I guess that's why we love him so! I also wanted to say, I enjoy the way you refresh the readers by going back a little from the second story. It helps when getting into the third. You left off the second with Eiri asking Tohma about what Shu's side of the story was, and in this chapter you head into a little more detail. Keep up the great work, and much more devious acts as well! My friend once put a saying together about a confrontation between Eiri, K, and Tohma. It was evil vrs. evil vrs. insantiy. I think that would work nicely with Kyu, Tohma, and the added Ryu...LOL.

Can't stand it. I HAVE NO CONTROL. (Hangs head in shame.)

I truly wasn't going to read this til the whole story was posted. Look how long THAT New Years Res lasted. Sigh.

Kyo and Hiro. Had to happen. Also, first pairing I've ever seen for Hiro that my gut and brain are totally cool with. Hiro's response to Kyo's advances is great. He's the one solid rock that is the foundation for all sanity in the actual series, and it's totally believable that he'd kiss then hold back. In his experience, sky-rockets are not necessarily the greatest foundation for a relationship. (i.e. what's happened with Shu and Yuki.)

I also really like the kaleidoscopic approach to story telling. Too much time overlap can make a story stale---generally it's better to keep the arrow of time moving forward... to choose the most effective VP for a given time period and pick up the alternate impressions in another segement--- but in this instance, these two chapters (combined with the same time sequence from Yuki's POV at the end of the last book) works very effectively. Mainly because you're handling the viewpoints so very well.

    Did I mention I loved Kyo's VP? :D:D:D

Well, I'm really glad that Kyo and Hiro might have something together. I love Kyo and really didn't want to see him hurt for long. BUt how about my other fav character, Ryo? I do hope that he will find some sort of peace or happiness. More? Oh! Happy new year!
