May I direct you to the best part:

Though realistically they had known that Hal was watching them, the fact wasn't brought home until running footsteps sounded in the reception area now. Hal knocked once before bursting in. "Off my desk!"

*dies* I LOVE HAL. TO DEATH. Even if Matt sees being nice to her as being a chore. If Matt didn't exist, MxH would probably be my favorite pairing. XD But the redhead exists, sooooo... MxM foreva!

And my thoughts exactly on the smiley thing. And I was trying to figure out which one it was because I use so many I forget. But I think you're right about the less than three. It would look like unfinished code. I don't know why it kills everything after it. xD But I can see the problem now. x)

Aish I really hope you're not finding the inspiratin to write that MxN! It'd break my heart if you change Matt for Near O____O

Matt's a genious. He always knows how to deal with Mello when he's all out of control and freacking the hell out of everyone. The blonde should be happy to have him with him.

And hahhaaha Hal don't want them to do it on her desk! that's was priceless!

    Melissa:

To me there's something fascinating about blond jokes around Mello. It fits into that same category of throwing coins onto the backs of crocodiles or taunting snakes with sticks. It's cruel, but also potentially fatally dangerous. Matt's done it only twice in the whole series and I love him for both of them.

Yes, I was referring to the belt incident. :D

Even as I was writing it, I didn't know if there really was a policeman. I was in Mello's head going, 'OMG, is there?' Matt's a git.

I'm sure that Matt could find things to occupy his time. :p Mello was asking directions so that CS Doughty wouldn't know that he already knew where it was. If he'd gone straight there, she might have deduced that he was familiar with the place. Those were his thought processes anyway.

I think that the cutting off of reviews happens when we use certain smilies. This site is coded with php, so some smilies actually look like code. As a matter of interest, had you written the less than three, loveheart symbol at the point where it cut off? I think that the site reads that as an open tab, so is looking for the close tab and thus fails to show the rest of the comment.

*grin* I do love trying to fill the plot-holes in the original. There is a definite change of opinion on the part of Near as to what L was like. The L he describes whilst in the Yellow Box is fundamentally different to the L described in the one-shot. The latter takes place three years later, so what was in the interim? It occurred to me that 'Another Note' actually contains the missing information which might cause Near to change his opinion in that way. Woot!

Mello can be so uncouth at times. -.-

    Nine Lives:

*grin* Matt just wanted to thrash out the Mello Code, while Mello was trying to head him off at the pass by discussing things that Matt doesn't want to. Matt just wants to have the sex, not analyse it. LOL

Don't fret, I can't see Mello and Near ever having sex in my series. I have received a request for it though on DA. I can't even imagine how I'd go there. 0.o

Matt in biking leathers. This is where your visual mind kicks in over my wordform mind. I bet you can actually picture what he looks like, can't you? I have to keep imagining Mello with Matt's head on top and then hope for the best. *grin*

Thank you all for reading this.

What the hell?! My review got cut off again. D< So I'm re-sending the second part.

Mello scowled and ate chocolate. "L spoke to me once, alone. He gave me information about three of his cases. I wrote them out in full, all of his insight and methodologies, then hid the disk under the floorboards in my room at Wammy's House. I figured that no-one would find it in my life-time. You thought you were emulating L in the way you worked in catching Kira. You might find that your opinion changes after reading it. Thank you for your assistance, Near." Mello came close to hanging up. It was a decent parting line, but it was also too delicious to hear the shocked silence on the other end.

I love how you added that again, as it is technically somewhat canon, but it makes me smile even more since it's also a reference to one of your other fics!

    "Near has a trampoline."

Mello blinked. He tried to imagine it, but his mind rebelled. "Yeah, well I get my exercise by screwing the arse off Matt and..."

I can't imagine it either. xD And Nice one to Mello. Who likes to brag I see. xDD Ahahaha!

"Yeah." The redhead lit a cigarette. "Just waiting for the rest of the sentence." He exhaled smoke. "Or was that it, 'hack MI5', for, like, fun?"

On the other end of the 'phone, Matt took another drag on his cigarette, then languidly commented, "Tell Hal that she's assuming that I'm going to get caught. Bitch. What do you want when I'm in there?"

OH MATT AND HIS ALOOF SARCASM!

I love to see Mello so stressed LOL
And I love Mello and Near interacting (but just as rivals, ok?)
Also, I want to see Matt wearing Mello's biking leathers!

Wow, no Matt this chapter. xD He must be dying of boredom without Mello around. And LOL at Mello slipping a bit towards the end there. haha Mello needing directions to Wammy's, how silly. xDDD hehe I love how he goes back in for the directions. hehe There's so much plot in this fic. I can't get over how interesting it is. As always, looking forward to the next update! :)

"It's ok." Matt sniffed. "You're blond."

Mello punched him sidewards on the chest. Matt responded with a sharp gasp, then punched him in the leg. Mello chuckled and drove them out of the lay-by. "I don't know why you hit me back. You like it when I hurt you."

"That wasn't sex, it was revenge."

Best thing ever. Matt made a blond joke. XD And I love that last quote. It was revenge! ahahaa!!!

Mello nodded. "Ok, I'll null and void it. I'm fairly sure I know anyway and so I'm just wasting questions trying to prise it out of you. It was a certain incident when you stole my notes and I reacted aggressively to get them back. My question then, if I was never to hurt you again but I was to tie you down every single time we had sex, would you like it?"

    The whole belt incident, yes?

Matt nodded past him. "You mean other than that policeman approaching your window?"

Matt! Ahahahaa! He's so horrible! I love it! 8D

    Nine Lives:

Welcome back. :D Missed you, guapa.

    Matt-kun:

    Thank you very much.

    Melissa:

    Ok, I'll laugh. XD

Yes, Mello was so blushing there. A definite blush. *nods* Unfortunately, I can also imagine Matt skipping down that butterfly and rainbow path. 'Age of Aquarius' is playing in my head as I imagine it. *snort*

Mmmmm... ok, the garden thing was quite suspicious, Mello. My imagination is failing though at the notion of Mello getting his hands dirty creating said garden.

LOL I never saw a letter, in the manga, state a low percentage when they didn't mean 99% instead. It must be a Wammy thing.

Awwww, re Iggy Pop. He's just been quoted again in the latest update. I'm glad I did that now I've read your reference. I'll dedicate this chapter to your guinea pig, if you think it's appropriate.

They weren't supposed to not crash. If you look at the beginning of the chapter, it's all being set up to explain how it was that Matt didn't control the car, when they ultimately are involved in the pile-up. Then I was writing away, the incident happened and... Matt just took over and I had no say in the matter at all. We were in the bloody service station before I could tentatively say, 'erm, can I have my story back now please, Jeevas?' But he didn't reply because he was freaking out over scraping metal sounds. Arse. He should be in a hospital in *checks map* Cannock or Wolverhampton by now, but noooo, they're halfway home.

That was so shocking and dramatic that I feel like I'M in shock, so regretfully, I don't have much to quote.

"Matty." Mello commented carefully, after twenty minutes of staring silently at the motorway ahead. "If I take Iggy Pop off and put some of your tunes on, will you slow down a bit? I'm trusting that you can actually see better than I think you can through those goggles."

I find that situation funny, and as a random side note, my guinea pig's name was Iggy Pop. XD She's gone from this world now, but it reminded me of her. xD

"Honestly, Matty, that's the best driving I have ever witnessed. It's beyond genius and into the realms of the mythical."

I just like that sentence. XD Beyond genius and in the realms of mythical. haha Matt r genius, yes?

Okay, first off, may I direct everyone's attention to the best part of the whole update:

Your instinct is spot on. I can't believe I'm making you blush."

Mello looked up sharply. "You're not. The air is cold on my cheeks."

    "Yeah, bollocks."

    AWWWWWWW! YES! They're so cute!

"Have we got past 'ooooh, I enjoy watching you work' and into 'hurry the fuck up, I'm bored'?"

Matt knows his husband quite well. xD Quite well indeed. xDDDD

"Pack up your toys and come on. We're going to the land where boys can smoke and happiness reigns."

I just imagine Matt smoking merrily as he skips down a road with butterflies and rainbows everywhere. xDDDD

Mello lightly punched Matt's arm. "So, at what point did you lose the will to live?"

    "About ten minutes in."

Oh Matt. xDDDD I love you. I love you to bits.

Mello's eyes widened. "After I've got the house just as I wanted it? Are you mad? I've got plans."

    "Involving Rome?"

"Involving the garden." Mello scowled at him.

AND YOU PEOPLE WONDER WHY I THINK HE'S UKE! I'm not crazy! The signs are there!

    "Is that an L 5%?"

    "Yes."

"Good." Matt opened the doors of the police headquarters. "Let's get it over with then."

And in conclusion, we get a funny reference about how L's percentages are always lies. xDDD Ahahahaha! Hurray for the letters being sneaky bastards!
