The first note I refused to answer. It was whiny, defeatist and a let down but fanfiction is a voluntary act and NOBODY has the right to complain when the writer decides to stop. This note however I will answer. This fic is the BEST thing you EVER wrote. It has plot, flow and good characters. ALL of your other fics are NOT even close. Some are over the top, others have flaky plots, others still the characters are out of wack. This one, on the other hand, has it all. That is probably why it is so hard to write. because it is extremely good. When I saw you were going to quit the best thing you ever wrote, I just shook my head and kept my mouth shut. Now, something this good does take intellectual energy and if you don\'t have the emotional balance it is not goint to work no matter how much you try. So, put on hold, put your head back into shape and get back to it when you feel steady again. Best wishes.

Oh! For the love of all that is holy! I can\'t believe that someone has the gall to insinuate that fanfic writer\'s life has to revolve around fanfiction. Life does NOT – I repeat does NOT – revolve around fanfiction. And, shame on anyone who says that it does.
Normally I prefer to stay out of these kinds of petty disputes, but I will not stand by and let such a talented author be bad-mouthed by someone who’s obviously ungrateful to the amount of hard work, thought, and effort that she puts into all of her stories.
Now, before I get started off on a tangent, I’d like to say that it is okay for a reviewer to show concern when they think an author may be discontinuing one of their favorite stories. However, it is not okay to belittle an author for that same fear. Showing concern and asking questions regarding that concern are acceptable. Belittling and bad-mouthing an author just because they have fallen short of a reviewer’s expectations is always, for whatever the reason, wrong. And, no author deserves to be derided by a reviewer for these reasons, especially since the author will ALWAYS have a life outside of fanfiction. A reviewer cannot expect an author to drop everything in their life to fit their needs. Having such expectations is not just wrong, it is idiotic.
To clear up some of the air, KanzenNeTsuki never said she was discontinuing, “Do You Want To Live Forever?” Her author’s note in chapter 20 said, “I don’t know how long it will be between updates. It is hard to get inspiration these days, and it is such a complex story. But I promise to see it to the end no matter how long it takes.” All that means is that sometimes circumstances in life – whether they are serious or not – can make it difficult to write, a.k.a. writer’s block. It happens to all of us. It doesn’t mean that an author is going to quit writing. All Tsuki is asking for is “some time to get a few things in her life finished and settled before she feels she can tackle this story again.” Which is all any reader/reviewer should ever expect from an author, and they should NEVER expect any more.
And, if, by chance, an author gets to enjoy the privilege of writing a novel that will one day be published, then that too takes precedence over fanfiction. Why? Because that is money being made that goes toward feeding/supporting/clothing an author and his/her family, which is another one of those things in life that most definitely comes before fanfiction.
Fanfiction is purely a hobby. Some write fanfiction for fun, others write it as a way of exercising their writing skills, and there are a variety of other reasons that people write fanfiction. But, the bottom line is that no one writes fanfiction to feed to the whim of their reviewers.
So, Tsuki write as you please. I have been following this story and “Bad Kid” from the beginning, and at times I have read your profile on FFN as well as other author’s notes you have written, so I know you are going through a tough time. And, though I am one of those ones that are guilty of hardly ever leaving a review, please know that I love all your stories. You are a very gifted and talented writer, so don’t ever let a misguided reviewer’s disgruntled comments drag you down. I’ll also be here when you get back. So, go take care of your family as well as yourself and don’t worry about the rest of us. We love you and support you and wish you the best.

Hey,
I\'m glad to hear that you\'ll still be working on this story. I\'ve been enjoying it quite a bit. I\'m sorry people have been giving you a hard time, and that I\'ve never had the chance to review before. (I normally copy and paste your chapters to read offline, that\'s why I haven\'t). I hope you feel better soon, and I\'ll be looking forward to reading you again!

oh my only 7000 hits and we are abandoning this story for someone who told me never to give up....never to abandon a story to turn around and do this is an insult...I know why you are doing this.... you are trying to go public....trying to write a story that is not fan fiction....but finding it really hard to write a non fanfiction story....I am not ashamed to say fuck that!!!! Stay with your fans....do not disappoint them even though you have higher hopes, higher gains of writing skills.... you disappoint us...we are now feeling inadequate....are you too good for us....not finishing a story because it is not a \"professional story\"......we your readers are disappointed in you....we deserve better.....

Kanzen, I cannot believe the reviews that have been left for you. I read your author\'s note and I understand how it is when real life takes over. Writing, any writing, must be put on hold. For an author to write just because someone is whining for an update, is WRONG. You won\'t write your best and quite frankly, I\'ll take quality over quantity anyday. Please ignore the whiney folks who obviously have had it easy. Write for yourself and share as you feel. Family comes first and foremost. True fans will understand and send their best wishes to you. Take care of yourself first or you\'ll be unable to take care of anyone else. We\'ll look forward to updates when you can get to them.
And to those who criticize an author\'s disappointment over lack of reviews, as an author, you work hard to polish and create something. One of my works that I\'m most proud of, that has been a true labor of love, has only 3 reviews. It\'s disheartening to put so much time into something and to try to push your skills to their utmost to only have 3 people say something about it. Whether they hate it or like it, comments count to an author. Yes, hundreds of people may have looked at it, but you don\'t know if hundreds of people LIKED it. Words tell an author what they\'re doing right or wrong. Share people, authors are truly inspired by it!!

I can\'t believe the insensitivity of people sometimes.
I\'ve read your a/n\'s on several of your stories. You have some major things happening in your life right now. You need to take care of those things. It IS that simple. Trust me, most of us understand that. As for those who don\'t, they\'re just gonna have to find a way to deal with it. As far as I\'m concerned, you have a talent you have generously shared with everyone here. You\'ve freely given hours of entertainment to readers who love your fics. You don\'t owe us a thing. We owe you. Do what you have to do, take care of your family, find your inspiration where you can, and come back soon. We\'ll still be here.
BTW, my sincerest condolences on your cat\'s passing. 19 years is a good life; she must have been a very happy girl.

I do not wright my stories for others to read, i wright them down because they are thoughts, and thoughts are like slipery fish, if you don\'t hang on to them tightily they will slip back into the bottomless pool of your mind and be gone forever. I know that it sounds selfish but if I don\'t care enough about my story to want to know what is going to happen bad enouf to wright it down, then I don\'t care if I have a million reviws or two I wlii never touch it again. I write for no one but me.
