I'd really enjoy this story, if you continued writing.
The only real problem I had with it was that it almost seemed to move too fast. Too fast in the sense that you skipped alot. Like at the end when all of a sudden Sophie was at her stepmother's house. It was almost confusing.
The romance was quite good for that stage in their relationship though. And like you, it seems, I always would have thought the romance between Howl and Sophie like a game of Cat and Mouse.

Oh please write some more.... please please please! I love the way you have Howl and Sophie wanting each other but still behaving (but only just...) I hope you find these reviews enough incentive to write another chapter or two.

wow, I really liked the characterization and the verbal exchanges between Howl and Sophie were fun and very like them. I'm disappointed that you've decided to end it where you have, but I can understand why you've left it off here. Very good tension in this plot, and you could easily resurrect this fic. Hope you do. ^__^ great writing all around.

My one little nitpick is that Howl's Welsh, not French, so a Welsh endearment might work much better than the French "mon ami."
I really did love it. You've got all sorts of anticipation built in this chapter that the reader is left expecting at least another chapter or two. Please more?
