Very, very interesting. 'brief and brilliant flashes of life' loved that line. But overall, this was heartbreaking, these pets being a step even below the slaves of the cultures we all know about. This was also incredibly hot, in all its confusion and different personalities, and then the slow down and the eunuch finding his first pleasure with the boy he had saved. What can I say, I'll have to quote you, this story was brief, but brilliant!

Very nice! I don't know enough about ANK to know this for sure, but I get the impression that it is *highly* unusual both for a furniture (or retired furniture) to be allowed to have a pet AND for there to be physical sexual contact between a pet and his master. Reading with that understanding gave the interactions between the two of them a delicious forbidden/taboo quality, and all the more so given that the pet was the penetrator and the master was the penetratee. I wish that this story could be continued, so we could follow their further sexual explorations.

Whew - I know you're the queen of angst. But you outdid yourself in this story. The anime certainly indicates the fate of pets past their prime is fairly gruesome, but you have focused on it and pinned it down.

Interesting that I 'knew' about it but forced it to the back of my mind before. Fascinating that Iason would face the issue.

Katze has always intrigued me. I love the idea of him getting a 'friend' - and especially one patient enough to give him sexual pleasure.
