wonderful chapter. have fun moving and good luck with the writing. i can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter with saitou's friend and karou. i'm loving how the tension is building between karou and saitou.

I'm so glad you took up this challenge. I adore alternate pairings, and I love Saito, so this story caught my interest right away. I think you've done a good job so far setting up background and a plot foundation. As far as suggestions, you've definitely established that an attraction is forming, but to keep them in character, I think they need to fight it (as hard as that is for me to say 'cause I can't wait for the good stuff!). Sometimes the hottest romances start when people "act" as though they can't stand each other. With Saito's sarcastic nature and Kaoru's temper, I see huge possibilities of some very funny interactions between them. And then, if Saito should get hurt dealing with the group after Kaoru... Another thing, if Kenshin feels he's not good enough, how's he gonna react when he finds out? They basically have the same past.
