Very clever plot you have here, I like it. Your story, although it could end there, sounds like more can transgress if you write more chapters. It would probably be an interesting challenge if you continued it, though.
What's funny about the movie and book are the names:
Movie(Bloodlust): Meiyer Link/ Dunpeal
Book(Demon Deathchase): Mayerling/ Dhampir
I prefer Meiyer Link and Dhampir, though. I always wondered why they did that, but movies tend to deviate from the book...although sometimes that can be a good thing. I liked the movie and book, so no complaints here. So, if you do plan on continuing this, I will standby and review.

Sorry, I forgot to mention a couple more things. Such as, I liked how you stuck to how Hideyuki Kikichi writes. I know that's hard; it's always hard to put aside your writing style to write like someone else. I also liked some of the phrases you used, like "jaws of lonliness".

I think you're off to a good start, and hope to see you continue. Vampire Hunter D was the first fandom that really got me into reading fanfiction, so I am happy to see a good writer in the fandom. I can see Hideyui Kikuchi’s influence in your writing, and I think you are keeping that tone well. Hope to see more.

Yay! I liked it. D-Link is fun ^_^. Some parts of the prose were particularly wonderful ("might die in ecstasy").
What did you mean by the part near the end about not seeing another night, though?
