I spent about an hour or two reading this from start to finish - when I should have been tending to other things - but let me say that it was without a doubt time well spent. This is a masterpiece. You stayed IC throughout the entire story and remained true to the characters themselves. While it meant that it wasn't the perfect romance, or ending it only added to the quality of your writing. I was dreading reading the last two parts because I knew what was coming and hated to think that it was going to end like that. It was beautiful, but terrible and I'd expect no less when it comes to a relationship between Light/Kira and L. I loved how you 'filled in the pieces' in those last two parts and how things made perfect sense. It was like finishing a puzzle.
I could go on and on about every little thing that was great about this piece of work but let me just finish by saying thank-you for taking the time to write this... the best and most satisfying Death Note fic I've read so far. :)

I really enjoyed reading this fic. It was everything I could have hoped for. Dramatic, wonderfully cannon, a beautiful mix of gay love and raw passion. Lawliet and Light are great together, and your take on Death Note showed them off in all their cute glory! The end even made me tear up a little bit. Thank you so much for posting this story!
The only technical error I noted was that you spelled the word "dab" incorrectly twice. I think you spelled it "daub." I've never seen it spelled that way, but I could be wrong.
Write on!

Now that i've finished it, wow - excellently written. Broke my heart thought. I traditionally only read AU's because I can't stand the fact that they're dead, I love L far too much and I feel for Light as well and I think you've captured his plight really well - if they'd had that relationship behind the scenes. I usually hate the ground cannon Light walks on because he killed L, but sometimes I think of him as being possessed by that Death Note and not really himself so then I feel a little bad for him - although I NEVER forgive him for what he did and DOUBLE that if he killed L after having that kind of relationship with him. But at least in your version he's suffering for what he did as well. Great job.

Oh wow. This story was beyond amazing. Great characterization throughout, of both L and Light. I liked that you addressed that Light would be afraid that he might be Kira. The last chapter was heart wrenching, I was tearing up (as if I wasn't so close in other chapters). This fic has honestly made me think differently about Light, mourning instead of hate, and the duel personalities really struck me as true and made it all that much more tragic. If you ever get a break in workload I would love to to read the AU ending.

I generally wait to review, but oh hell...
"four thousand six hundred and twenty seconds"? That's perfectly what L would think. Damn mathematically competent geniuses! *shakes fist skyward*
So far, it's pretty damn good. I tend to skim over the recap stuff from episodes unless there is something in it that is new information. The missing scene stuff, though, awesome idea. One question? Why are they dabbing bruses with hot water? It needs ice.

O.O I have to say, even though I was anticipating the ending being along the lines of that... you still managed to make me tear up. Gah, it's been awhile since a fanfic has managed to do that. So kudos to you, my friend, for being an awesome author and being able to convey emotion while keeping peeps in character. *nodnod*
I though L was great, all his social ineptness and lack of finesse. *chuckles* He was very well done, to say the least. I also like that you touched on the essential bipolar personality that Light seems to have... you made me hate and want to hug him at the same time. And I have to say... Misa, done in character in any fic, makes me laugh. I hate people that make her sound like an intelligent human being *shakes head* when she rather clearly isn't. (or at the very least, she's trying to be 'cute' in some manner *shrug*)
All in all, when stacked up against the rest of the Death Note fiction on the site... I not sheepish to say there's no contest. I know this may piss other writers off but... this was seriously the best one I've come across. It had depth, character development, sex, and death all in one COMPLETED package. You have no idea how happy I was upon learning that this had an actual ending... it was almost a fangirl squee.
But, I digress... it was wonderful, keep up the good work! *nod*
Peace Out,
Anne Plath

Hey there, I just wanted to say that you have a wonderful writing style. I love the use of your wide vocabulary. I also really enjoyed the way you wrote the characters. I hope there is more to come from you, on this fic. Thanks for posting it for all to enjoy!
