I really like your fic. To tell the truth, I haven't been able to get into DN, but your writing style and characterization is really enjoyable. ^^

Eeee! An update! *this is my excited face* I think it's more exciting when you update because I never know when it's going to come - whereas with set ones like mine there's no...real anticipation cause you know it's going to be there! Liked this chapter a lot - I am typing this with one hand and actually drawing a scene from this chapter with the other! (also playing invisible chess! okay...it's actually on the screen but STILL! Go go multi-tasking!)
I'm actually liking Sayu a bit in this - I really loved her remembering Raito when she was younger, makes me go BAWWWWWWW! - and the humanization of Near was wonderfully done. You're actually causing me to like the little bugger a tiny bit - and that, my dear friend, is a MASSIVE ACHIEVMENT OF EPIC PROPORTIONS! I like your listless L. Every time you write about him I can see him just sitting there with his head tilted to the side like that scene where he was depressed in the series - very cute :)
Oooh dun dun DUN - come on Watari! Let them go! I can't wait to see what he does with the information! After watching 'L-Change The World' a few nights back - I have the biggest soft spot for Watari now - I cried through most of that movie, he does L so well and just all the sad looks and stressful situations and the emotion and BAWWWWWWWWWWWWW....
...it was a bit too much for me.
Though the bit at the end was a bit too cheesy, it still made me smile.
Can't wait for the next chapter - like REALLY CAN'T wait!
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Psh and hurry up and reply to my email! I'm in a drawing mood and this fanart (if it's ever completed) won't entertain me FOREVER!

Yay another great chapter! I kow i've probly said that before, but every chapter you write keeps me on the edge of my seat and wanting more! Oh and some rather humourous funny stuff for you. I tried yesterday to buy a box of sugar cubes at the store and my mom swiped them back out of thebasket and put them back telling me I was going to die of a sugar overdose. It was funny and actually made me think of L and Watari so I think I'm going to draw that for you. I can picture it a lot better in my head and it'll be cuter. But yeah I loved this chapter keep it up!

I love Matsuda's reaction to Sachiko! It's hilarious, and so characteristic for him. Poor possessive Soichirou, haha. I also think you did an especially great job at characterizing Sayu. She doesn't really get much screen time, and I always find that secondary characters like that are difficult to nail down, but I really like the way she comes across. She's still cheerful and energetic (or at least is making an obvious effort at it), and is still completely possessive of her brother (even knowing he's Kira) and her family, as her behavior towards Near shows. It really is interesting that someone like that would be Light's sister, and would keep supporting him even if she doesn't support Kira's actions. Must be hard for her.
Very interesting dialogue from L in this chapter, regarding how he has already got the capacity to become a murderer, and already has the power and intelligence to accomplish that. That's a good point. I've heard the argument made that Light was corrupted by acquiring that power, and that the same would happen to anyone like that, but it doesn't seem to have happened to L, and to a degree he is in the same position. Though maybe the difference isn't in his sense of morality (because that's not exactly pure), but in the way he was raised? Hmm.
Light's response felt very solid, too, in regard to L doing the same thing as Kira had been doing by arranging for himself to be the one making all the decisions. I love dialogue like that; it's very accurate at conveying a character's personality, and it's very convincing, as it should be.
Also, I still like that L is the one losing sleep over all of this, when obviously Light is the one taking lives and treading the line of morality (to such an extent, anyway). But there's no such visual impact the case is having on Light; L is the one suffering over it. I think that says a lot about both of them. I also like that it ties very neatly back into that chapter of GM where the early-manga L appeared for a while. Maybe L's tenuous acceptance of his and Light's similarities will bring back that old L eventually. Either way, good thing he's cheered up a bit; I doubt he could get much done sitting around all depressed all the time. Though so far it looks like Light is going to be the one to convince L of his methods rather than the other way around, although somehow I can't see L outright supporting that sort of murder.
Hmm, I wonder why Watari wanted that information about Light. Maybe he's going to try to appeal to his sense of humanity, or come up with some plan involving Sayu? He's got the approximate location of L and Light now, anyway, so he's definitely got a chance. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Finally.....did it....here's the damn linku
http://kaith-sith.deviantart.com/art/The-game-of-life-and-death-91070063
but actually been busy working, going to funerals, and just dealing with the suck of not being able to write fanfiction :( But the good thing is that you updated and it actually made my day better.
I would have to be the closest in terms of personality and habits: Matt. I actually play video games as much as him! And I also am not the most genius or shining a lot (He only appeared like....for a minute in the manga,) but shockingly make impacts, (people love the heck of him.) Matt kun was good in technology shocking like me; the only thing is that I don't smoke at all :B
I'll try to make some more but it's hard finding a scanner...and I am drawing a lot lately too! I loved this chapter with stephan in it! Heheheh he's picking up people's bad habits!
The Matt and Mello interaction is always a treat and every chapter so far isn't dissapointing at all (Some stories have meh parts but I haven't found one yet so far...that's pretty good considering.)

Well, I wouldn't call him a Renfield, more of a Mina, perhaps? I'm not too sure... I actually have most of the plot planned out, I just need to find the proper title and such then I'm all set to go! (But first I have to finish Snapshots and Strength of Heart.) But I hope that I've caught your interest in it enough to warrant a read? I am getting back into the groove of writing, sorry if this review is late, I only just thought to check it now... stupid diplomas...
BUT I ADORED THE CHAPTER.
Haha, I simply LOVED that interaction between Matt and Mello; it seemed incredibly in-character and plausible to me. I laughed at their interaction; that sort of thing makes my day and the fact that I have a diploma in a few hours much more bearable. I shall take this in with me to laugh silently at and to keep me going! YOU SHALL BE AN INSPIRATION.
As well, I know the feeling about the writing thing. Life interferes, and you feel that you're not quite good enough. But you've gotta continue for, not only yourself, but others reading your stuff. I've figured that out; you gotta write cause you enjoy it, and if you have people who wanna read it. If you find yourself an audience, play 'em for all they're worth! I shall give you cookies in order to make you feel better! *hands you a huge box of homemade Rolo cookies*
Oh, and am I one of the few who saw Prince Caspian and thought that Caspian/Peter is made of WIN?!
Anyways, loved the chapter and can't wait to read more! Mwuhahaha.

TWO chapters?! How did I miss one? Am I that absent-minded or senile in my old age? (or perhaps I just don't check the page as often as I should >.>) I APOLOGISE PROFUSLEY! Here - have an extra large review from me :P *indulgent smile*
I absolutely loved the chapter with L and Light - you've got them down in a way that's so perfect and right that it makes me so envious sometimes. Reading your characterizations makes me want to strive for better ones when I write - I laughed out loud at Light folding his and L's clothes and then washing his hands afterwards. It just suits him for too much - I really think it should become a 'canon' habit for him to have in fanfiction, lol! I liked L freaking out about being eaten and the fact that Ryuuk didn't even know if shinigami could eat humans - he's so clueless but so calculating and intelligent at the same time. It makes me think sometimes that he was far more onto it than he's usually depicted - actually being a god and all...
The next chapter was brilliant! I've aboslutely fallen in love with your Matt and Mello in this chapter. I was actually taking notes as I read so I could mention all the bits that I liked so much. First up was Matt, so desperate to play his game, that when he fell sideways, he was still playing and didn't even attempt to get up - that whole opening scene was such a clear picture and described beautifully - you should be really proud! Looking down at my notes, my brain must have detached briefly as I've just scribbled down one-word mentions, hoping that it will jog my memory when writing the review - so far I can see that I've written 'Brilliant' 4 times in the list - mingled with a fair chunk of 'hilarious', 'love Matt', and one 'Mello upside down'. I have no idea what that last one is referencing but obviously the picture was there in my head and I felt the need to mention it to you... Don't ask - it's been a long week!
Oh! One last bit on the list - I couldn't stop laughing at the 'nostalgic for Zelda' part. Seriously. I couldn't answer the phone when it rang and had to wave me hand madly at Liz to answer it instead. I really shouldn't be reading at work regardless - but I love it!
So I can happily say - two absolutely amazing chapters - I can't wait for the next one! *hugs*
