You know... I had an really werid dream about this story. lol

I dreamt that in this story, Light never really died, or touched the death note. For some reason, he got an lifenote from the very start and it was somebody else who was Kira. And to get past the whole bit where he had to sarfice his own lifespan to save others using the lifenote, he could summon this vial of life thing (an bottle with endless juice that expended your lifespan by 50 years with every sip). But the downside of using this bottle was that after every sip, he sometimes lost self-control, which made for some rather embrassing situations. :) And it was even in the rules of the lifenote.

But for the most part the rest of the story was basically about the same as your version. with one expection-- Light actually suspected L to be the real Kira for a while, so he was very careful about not revealing himself as an lifenote user, which ironically made L suspect him too in return. =p
There was also some other differences here too... misa noticed Light from the very start, and started stalking him at the same time when Raye peber was watching Light. Misa apparently thought he was just a creepy homosexual stalker... and being the jealous posstive type she killed him before Light was even aware of him. She killed Naomi in almost the same manner, not realizing that this would actually hurt Light in a way more than help him.
Anyway the story kept on skipping ahead in my dream... which was a good thing otherwise it would had made for a very long dream.
But at the moment where L was going to die because of attempting to bring Misa in, Light finally realized that L wasn't the real Kira, and took him up to the rooftop even though it was raining then. It was then Light actually confessed to him about being a light note user, and how Misa had confessed to him one night how she had been stalking him from the start, and used her shagami to blackmail him into helping her. As well as to pretend being her boyfriend. Light then warned L that Rem was very protective of Misa, and would kill L if he attempted to bring Misa in for the felonies that she had commited.

L then agreed to hold it off for now, provided that Light gave him his lifenote for verfication. Light agreed. unfountely this part of the dream got a little bit fuzzy, as seeing it was starting to end right at that point so I didn't get to see what L was planning next. :P

*collapses* I'm back, and I'm bloody tired. Sorry I couldn't review anything until now, I was away with a bunch of other parents and kids on a trip organized for JD's playgroup ... parenting's a tough gig, free tip: when you have your own sprogs don't associate with any other parents, especially if you're a teenage mother.

I don't have enough brain power to write a proper review this time, so I'll just say keep it up, favorite author!

About sex: Yes! Do not wait until they get married, I can't wait that long. If you need help you can always call on me (I just started drawing for a new yaoi website) Also it just occurred to me that it's a tad odd that Soichiro would approve of his son in a homosexual relationship but wouldn't tolerate sex before marriage. I dunno, all types make up the world I suppose, lol.

And that goal you set for yourself, well... you've gone above and beyond with the unexpected plot-twists.

And Oooh, this chapter was so warm and fuzzy it made me cuddle up with stuffed animals after reading it.

I would've liked to see a little bit of the shooting fiasco from Lawliet's point of view...
But the story on the whole makes up for that ten times over.

Aaahww :) I'm so happy right now and I'm going to be happy for the rest of the week to since I'm going to live on this chapter. It was so adorable I almost squealed of my chair :) I'm really greatfull that you posted earlier too, I was so nervous, hehe. And I'm also happy I'm not gonna die anytime soon :D And who wants to wait untill they got married? I certainly don't, I want a lemon! I wote for the lemon since I (like you) have a perverted mind, moahaha. I loved this chapter, cant wait 'till next :)

Aww sweet zakis back. im glad death gods are so specific i was kinda scared for matsuda there but serves him right for shooting light(hehe that rhymes).Some nice twists n this chapter keep up the good work. Oh and please please please put a lemon in pweety please
