Mello sighed. "First time I've seen you turn down hot nuts in your mouth."
"Poor. Very poor."
Honestly, as big as I'm into innuendo, at first I totally didn't get this. -failure- xDDD I was like, "Matt likes nu... oh I get it. -.-" xDDDDD I love Mello!
"Coat!" Matt grinned, pointing to a garment that seemed very familiar to Mello. It was similar to that worn by Neo in the Matrix films. Mello stared from it to him. Matt held up a sleeve. "Sleeves."
I HAD to laugh at this part because ironically enough, about a month ago, my grandma forced my sister and I to get new winter coats. Jenn got a red one since it reminded her of Mello, and I got this long black one just because it was something I'd like. xD When I started wearing it, Jenn said I looked like Neo. -.- She wanted us to take cosplay pics that way, pretending to dodge bullets in a Matrix style. So it makes me LOL that this came up in this fic. xDDDD Now I feel like doing it and posting pictures. (Though mine is real leather, Mello will be happy to know. :P)

LMAO! Melissa's seme comment made me spill cranberry juice everywhere. I was not expecting that. The way you wrote the interview section was full of so much win! I was fangirl squeeing, laughing, and as before mentioned spilling cranberry juice.

Hahaha great!
I laughted so much during the interview to M and M!
Whom has Mello called bitch? You or me? LOL
They didn't allow you to bear a camera so you could take a pic of that tiny kiss they shared? :(
If I'm not wrong, Matt knew the meaning of "uke" but Mello didn't? ROFL
Also, Near was boring >.< But of course I don't know why I was expecting anything more from the little weirdo... as if he'd ever been any fun.
Thank you for doing this, honeey *hugs* I loved it

First of all, 'Have a fucking cat.' I love you Matt! xDDDD And I laughed so hard. And you can tell Phil that his real name is much to hard for me to pronounce. Just blame it on me being American. So I'm going to continue to call him Phil. And tell Mello to come take it up the arse soon, because I'm expecting to see it now. :D And I laughed quite a bit. xDDDDDD Matt and Mello are the funniest, I swear. hehe

Aida:
Mello and Matt playing doctors would be a very fine thing, I think. :D
Yes, they certainly needed a case. I'm with you, leave them alone long enough and they'd combust just for something to do. Bored geniuses are a dangerous breed. So yay! I'm happy dancing right alongside you.
Erk, sorry, other than the one-shots that I listed on MangaBullet, there's no immediate plans for a sequel. However, I've been approached by someone who is considering writing a story set in this world, covering Matt from Mello's departure to their being reunited. At the end of Watari Pt 2, I had someone else ask me if they could write a sequel to that. That's when I let her, then the world know about The Mello Code. She might be up for writing a sequel to this. I don't know. -.- If these come off, then both of them are amazing writers, so that would be brilliant to read. I'd get to see these stories from the reader point of view! :D
Coloured Red:
Mello has left the Church, but the nature of that is a bit debatable. He's basically just moved the goalposts a bit. He wants Catholicism but with permission to love Matt. Basically, he's just verbalised and admittedly inwardly what he's been doing in practice since 'My Own Way'.
Yes, his achievements make me very jealous! LOL
I'm really glad that you enjoyed the birthday arc. :D
You're welcome re the recognition. Sometimes I'm dashing about, so don't get to answer very quickly, but I often read comments beforehand and they are encouraging. Thank you for them.
At the moment, I have no plans for another sequel, but, as I said in my MangaBullet journal (http://www.mangabullet.com/visit/MRS-Jeevas), never say never.
Thanks for all the bigging up. *shivery grin*
If you're quick (as in today), there's still time for questions for Linda, Lamond, Chrissie, Salvo and Century. If you're less quick, there's still time for questions for everyone else. People are still e-mailing me. LOL I personally really enjoyed the image of Fenian sounding the Irish battle drum throughout Wammy's House and no-one being able to get to him to shut him up. XD
Melissa:
LOL Yes, Mello wouldn't have been best pleased knowing about that doctorate before. Mind you, he should have sussed. Matt stayed at Wammy's House until the end and, given the level of education there, he was bound to have walked out with a doctorate.
In Matt's defence, he didn't know he was going to church and that was good wine to just leave on a dining table. *smirk*
So what do you think of his theory that Lamond could have owned Kira? I have to attempt that I was sitting here going, 'huh?'
"Fuck knows, I'm Spanish." XD As if his extreme fluency in English means nothing. To be honest, I'm a native English speaker and I had to look it up just to check before I used this dialogue. I was 5% certain though. *snort* Yeah, that is an L percentage.
Hal and Mello conversation is just so much fun to write. It has to be said. :D I did think of us as the squealing fangirls at the end. :p The whole thing with 'It Matters' was meant to tie in with the prologue to 'It Matters'. There a very confident Watari names Matt 'It Matters' against his will. Now a less confident Watari only calls him that as a dare. Matt's victories are always very subtle.
Thank you and I'm glad you liked the closing chapters.
Yes, Fenian! Stay beautiful or else! I'll know too. (Melissa will tell me. She's stalking you.)
Nine Lives:
Technically it's Dr (Hon) Keehl, but I think that if we value our peace of mind, we'll drop the 'hon'. :p
This chapter should have happened a month ago. I knew then precisely what would happen and thought that I could do it. Then the narrative here involved a few things to get in, which took the time that it took to write. What really poleaxed me was the birthday story that I wrote on MangaBullet. I researched more for that one-shot than for anything in the whole series (with the possible exception of the burns). I had to know precisely what was happening in Yugoslavia in 1989. -.- The research of that knocked back the chapters here, then there was another 2 day delay as I wrote the Christmas story. Then Yule itself happened. It all went very wrong. I should have planned all of that a bit better. LOL
Yes, Mello did indeed eat the Flake. *smirk*
Good luck in your exams, guapa.
Hal really worked on Mello to get them there. It's not stated, but is implied between the lines. Here: "In a miracle of negotiative genius, the two other central figures in this case have been persuaded to join Near in front of you tonight." :p
No, I did know that all of Spain isn't sunny, particularly the north. I hovered over that 'sunny Spain' for a bit, because it's such a cliche. However, I was in Hal's mind at the time. She's being extremely cheerful at the moment, so it's all positive things coming out of her mouth, mostly to cover the nerves over Near and Mello potentially going for each other. She's also American and there's no evidence of her ever having gone to Spain. I figured that it was a slip up that she might make. Plus I have a lot of American friends. Even the really worldly ones can sound quite patronising about other countries at times. They'd be devastated if they realised that that's how they sounded, because it's really not intentional. I did have someone in mind when I wrote that. Hence the slightly patronising tone about Croatia and the slip-up about Spain. Not nastiness, in fact, it was meant to be nice. Did that make sense? It was supposed to be an observation about a nation's cultural tone rather than slagging them off. It's always a bit dodgy when you do that to another nation. I can blithely make observations about the British without blinking (see the class discussion when Mello's at the police station for a start), but I feel wrong doing it about other nations, even though the intention is realism.
Thank you for the bigging up. :D
Saigocage:
Deontic owns. XD Re Fenian = rocks. Perhaps the next story should be the adventures of Fenian. XD

In the uproar that followed, Hal had to look sternly at several exciteable children, including a group of squealing girls. Their cosmetic administrations now justified, they were acting like fans in the grip of a concert mania. She was therefore startled when a leather-clad arm snaked over her shoulder and dropped a ten pound note into her hand. "Nice one." Mello rasped, loud enough for all of the children to hear. Hal stifled a laugh. The Slav addressed the whole audience. "I bet her a tenner that she wouldn't dare call him It Matters and she rose to the challenge. You have a very courageous guardian." He turned and watched his husband sit down on one of the chairs being brought out for them. "Even more amazing, he actually responded to it. Now that's your real first, Hal."
My favorite part of the chapter! hehe Especially the squealing girls, and Mello betting Hal money on calling Matt by his real name. I love it!
And it was a beautifully closing chapter. Closing chapters are always hard to do, and always sad to the readers. (Why must it end?!) But oh GOD to I love the Wammy kids and Hal. Love. Love love love!! You're amazing! I look forward to all your future works, whether it is a continuation of this or not. :)
