Very fun read. I like the direction you're taking us, what with the symbols tattooed on the current main character. Keep it up.

MORE METAL! That is (though I used different words) the same reason I'm writing my digimon one. As I grew more mature the shows didn't. Our job is to fix it. They played a vital role in the way we grew up. Now we get to do the same for them.
I liked your story and certainly look forward to reading more of it. If it is cool with you, I'm going to place this in my suggested reading list.
