You have no idea how much I look forward to an update from this story every week. I don't even know how I managed to get through my work days without thinking of the latest chapter. Once again, very well-written and you shouldn't have to worry about letting anyone down, as long as you don't make the pace too fast (which you aren't), have them in character (which you do) and have an actual plot going on (which you do) I'm beyond satisfied.
A little cliché with the massage-bit, but overall, I loved this chapter. Especially how Ciel leads Sebastian into a false sense of security and upright smacks him. I laughed in real life. Now I'm going to be thinking of this chapter while I'm at work until the next one comes out.

I can't wait!

Haha! Perfect way to skirt the "swooning Ciel syndrome" so popular with today's fiction. I love love LOVE! the way you keep to character. Ciel is very much an aristocrat, so he wouldn't lower himself to a butler in anything but his own terms. Good background information regarding his own sexuality. As Lady Easton noted, he's still very much a child. I think you've got a great way to lead into the next half arc with this new devil and master while opening up this can of worms (or half opening it, and covering it with clear plastic wrap).

Side point: Interesting about Baldroy. Anything there? That's be an excellent un-drawn path to head down ... No? You'd be a revolutionary! : D I'm terribly thrilled you updated! I enjoyed it it immensely.

This review will be rather brief, as I am running out of new things to gush about. Seriously, a flawless chapter. I love Sebastian's dark humor, and that Ciel is still his bitchy self, even though he briefly softened his demeanor to reward Sebastian.

My decision to even make a rec list was spurred on by this very story, in fact. You've earned every bit of praise that you've gotten, and this story deserves more than just 14 raving reviews... so I want to see that more people read this story.

Loved the new chapter! I like how Sebastian and Ciel were battling even when Ciel wasn't aware of it. Also really liked the end, how Ciel gave him those kisses and then slapped him, and the fact that he rearranged the pieces on the chess board. It's just like him. Can't wait to read more and see what happens between them!! Keep up the good work (: (:

Wonderful new chapter! The interaction between Sebastian and Ciel after the whole affair of the last chapter was spot on. And it was so cute! I really liked the ending when Ciel asks Sebastian to kiss him, and Sebastian's about to, but then stops when he notices the fever's back. That's totally my favorite part in this chapter, though I must say the little teasing Sebastian did after putting salve on the cut down on his nether regions is also another of my favorites. It comes a close second. Very nice! Please update again soon!!!

As tempted as I am to just slam my face on the keyboard and submit that as a review (it would be quite accurate in conveying how I feel about this chapter), I know you deserve something better... because THANK THE LORD everyone is still in-character! Although I had to stop reading twice and contemplate if where you were taking this was predictably over-sexualized and amateur-ish, it never went there. You seem to tease readers with that; that making it appear as though we're going to have some snuggly Sebastian/Ciel scene followed by a (uncalled for) round of post-molestation comfort sex, but never actually going there. You kept things reasonable.
I also applaud your coverage of Sebastian's inner struggle against his "devilish impulses". Again, as I said in my first review, it makes sense that he would be the first to notice something is different this time around in his relationship with Ciel.
Now let me make a pact with you, and tell you that I will keep reading this story for as many chapter as you can and want to write, as long as you keep it going as wonderfully strong as you have been these past 14 chapters! I am sure your other readers feel the same.

14. Inflammation

Did you read my last review and though "Let's dangle as close to that chick's review as possible, and then yoink it back, leaving a great plot behind"? I love Sebastian's restraint, and the idea he's exceptional exception among exceptional figures. Fever ... hmmm, it wouldn't do to have the Earl slip away from fever before Sebastian could claim him, no?

Keep it up! You're doing an excellent job! Well thought out AND full of reasonability.

I love love LOVE this story. You craft the characters so well, and display a hint of what may be without turning a kiddish 13 year old into a swoooning strumpet, and the reader into a kid reading nothing more than PWP.

This last chapter was fabulous! Was that a Sebastian smile? Did Ciel imagine it so he could give himself an excuse to end his life? Sebastian is a bit possessive of those who seek to do his master harm ... or even make him curry : P I'm excited to see what happens next (Please, for the love of toasty nuts, no "Kiss away all those mean hands, Sebastian!" Please. I'll kill myself. And you'll be responsible for assisted suicide. Rly.), with the aftermath of the incident, who were the ones that knew Ciel hated cages, and who the strange demon and his master are. Thank you!

First of all, let me say this is one of The Best Kuroshitsuji fanfics between Ciel and Sebastian that I have ever read. Throughout what has transpired of the plot they have remained perfectly believable according to their characters. I adore your writing style and the unhurried unfolding of your plot. It's at just the right pace to where one can really get a feel for the characters and story. Love the latest chapter! I am so excited to read what happens next, how their relationship developes further from this point on. Especially liked the part toward the end of the first section when Sebastian seems so surprised that he sounded like he really wanted to tear out the guy's tongue. Perfect. Can't wait for the next chapter!! Please update soon (:

I am a long-time lurker who created an account because I felt that this story was lacking in reviews. This fic is my absolute favorite, hands down. Contrary to what some of the reviewers say, I love the pace you've set and the fact that you focus on other things in the story other than just possible smut. This story has bother Sebastian and Ciel in character, a poetic writing style, character development and a plot that leaves you on the edge of your seat. Each chapter only leaves me wanting more and more, I absolutely love it.
Sometimes I am left disappointed when authors butcher the character's personalities, speed up the half-thought-out plot just to get to the smut. I have no problem with smut, but I want a real story, character interaction, subtlety, the little things that make a good story into a great one. Things that will leave one thinking about the story long after it's over.
This wonderful piece of work deserves more reviews, hence why I created this account. I will be eagerly anticipating your next chapter. I am a fan.
