Each line of dialogue goes in a separate paragraph, all the time, with no exceptions. Every time someone else says something, make a new paragraph. Every time someone's talking for a long while and change subjects, make a new paragraph.
Never use numbers (like 3) in your writing unless it's part of a phone number or address. Other than that, spell it out.
