Aoi Sakuraba tried not to stumble over her geet again as she slowly walked down the hallway. Her head was pounding and the smell of her own breath was making her more nauseous. Silently her body pleaded with her to just collapse onto the floor and pass out. She shook her head, trying to block out her body's nagging. As the hallway began spinning faster Aoi quickly regeted shaking her head like that.

She groaned loudly as she placed a hand over her forehead. With each step her feet felt like they were becoming heavier and heavier, yet her destination seemed some much further away. Her stomach churned as she grasped the wall to steady herself. Aoi forced herself to turn her head into the direction she was heading towards, and continued walking.

"Why did I let Tina talk me into drinking so much?" Aoi thought to herself. "Never again, never again..."

Miyabi had left earlier in the day to attend some social gathering for Aoi's family. Karou left soon after that to visit a teacher and other students for an evening tutorial in one of his classes. That just left Aoi, Taeko and Tina with the house all to themselves. The trio tried in vain to find an activity to pass the time. They tried watching the TV, they tried going for a walk, they tried doing many vaious activities. There was just absolutely, positively, definitely nothing to do whatsoever.

As she was staring at the clock, quietly wanting Karou to come home early, Aoi must have looked so depressed to Tina at the time. With an abrupt start Tina stood up, grabbed her purse and proclaimed she would get something to cheer up Aoi's sad face. Tina raced out the door leaving Aoi and Taeko staring at each other dumbfounded.

"'Where is Tina going...?'" Aoi remembered thinking. She didn't have to wait too long to find out.

Aoi and Taeko had finally found something worthwhile to watch on TV when Tina burst through the door holding a very large bag. With a loud "THUD!" Tina set the bag on a coffee table as the sounds of liquid sloshing around could be heard. Before Aoi or Taeko could ask about the contents of the bag Tina had already ran into the nearby kitched and came back with three mugs. She handed one to Taeko, then Aoi. Tina then plopped down beside the table, a big grin evident on her face.

"Um, Tina?.." Aoi remembered asking her friend. "What exactly are you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious?!" Tina happily exclaimed.

"Well..." Aoi began to reply. "Well to be honest...., no."

"We're going to have a girls' night out, that's what!" Tina squealed. With that she grabbed the bag and ripped it off, revealing what was inside.

Aoi and Taeka at first just stared at the object. Then they looked at each other, silently wondering if the other knew what the object was supposed to be. They finally looked towards Tina, who still had that big grin on her face.

"Uh, Tina, what is that?" Aoi asked, pointing to the object.

Before Aoi and Taeko sat a huge bottle of liquid. Judging by its size alone both were surprised that Tina could carry it in by herself. There had to be a gallon - maybe more - of the liquid. On the bottle's side was a large sticker with "75% OFF!" scribbled in red ink across it.

Aoi squinted her eyes as she leaned in closer towards the bottle. There were more letters written below the clearance sticker. She could just make them out.

"V...." she spelled out loud. "...O.......D......K......A. Vodka..." Aoi's eyesdenldenly became wide as she realized what was in front of her. To Tina she asked, "You bought vodka?!"

Tina's big grin became a big smile. "That's right! And all of us are going to finish off this bad boy tonight! Woooooo!"

"You're........You're kidding, right?...."

"Nope!" Tina patted the bottle's side. "Tonight, ladies, drinks are on me!!"

Aoi quickly covered over her mouth as she felt some vile crawling up her throat. She furiously swallowed her own saliva to push the vile back down into her stomach. With the threat of vomiting now out of the way, Aoi continued her trek down the hallway, step by slow step. Her destination wasn't too far away, and she was determined to get there no matter what.

Her thoughts began to try and piece together just how she got into this situation. She could remember drinking one glass, then maybe two or three more. After that it was all becoming a haze. Tina was literally bouncing off the walls as she gulped down the vodka like it was nothing. Meanwhile Taeko had only sipped her first glass down. The last time Aoi could remember seeing Taeko she was lying unconscious on the floor.

Aoi could remember suddenly thinking it was very late, and trying to get up and out of the room. A very drunk Tina grabbed her wrist and was barely able to ask something which sounded like, "Where are you going, cutey? This night is just starting!" That might have been what Tina said. It was hard to tell with the belching and slurring inbetween her words.

Aoi slipped her wrist out from Tina's grasp. "I'm sorry, Tina," she apologized with a short bow. "But I'm not feeling very well right now. I think I'm going to call it a night, so good night." She had turned her back to Tina when she suddenly heard a loud "THUMP" behind her. Glancing behind her Aoi saw Tina passed out on the floor, snoring loudly and obnoxiously. That sight made Aoi giggle a little, but she stopped herself as she proceeded out the room.

"SMACK!" Aoi was so absorbed in her riesries she inadvertantly walked right into a door. Rubbing her forehead Aoi glanced up at it. She then realized she had made it to her destination. It felt like it had taken her an eternity to get to here, but it was all worth it. In here, she could be herself without any regrets or fear. Here she could be with her true love.

Aoi carefully opened the door to Karou's room.

It was no surprise the room was a mess. Even with the moon as the only source of light Aoi could see clothes piled up and textbooks sprawled on the floor. Karou was tidy sometimes, but he did have his off-days. Aoi made a mental note to stop by here again tomorrow to clean it up. She didn't mind doing the work since it was for Karou. He made her heart flutter whenever he was near her. Karou....... Karou...........

Karou wasn't in his room, nor was there any signs that he had been in it earlier. Aoi's face became very sad. The whole reason she left Tina's party was to see Karou before heading off to her own bed. The bed... Her eyes looked down at Karou's bed. As usual it hadn't been made, and its blanket was tossed onto the floor next to it.

Aoi closed her eyes, and a smile appeared on her face. She could see Karou in her mind. He was sleeping in his bed, his body resting comfortablely and she could even hear him slightly snoring. Her smile grew r asr as she crawled into Karou's bed, pretending to hold the man she loved dea
"Oh Karou....," she happily thought. "Karou.... If only you were here with me, Karou...." Karou may not be actually be there with her, but Aoi began drifting off to sleep as if he was there.

Aoi felt like she had been asleep for ages when she thought she felt something touching her lips. It was another few seconds when she realized it was another person kissing her softly. She couldn't get her eyes to open to see who it was, but she didn't care either. There's only one person who kisses her like this, and that was Karou.

something. Aoi could only stare in terror at it. Someone was coming into the room and she didn't know who it was. A burgular? A peeping tom? Who?......

At last the unknown hand found the light switch. Light flooded the room, momentarily blinding Aoi. She could just make out a figure coming into the room, shutting the door back and proceeded to walk further into the room.

Aoi gasped when the lone figure finally noticed her. It seemed to tilt its head at her. She closed her eyes tightly, preparing herself for the worse.......

"Aoi?..." said a very familiar voice.

Aoi kept blinking her eyes until she could clearly see the person in front of her. Slowly her eyes began to adjust to the light. Once she could see who it was, her mouth nearly dropped to the floor in disbelief.

Karou was standing right in front of her.

"What are you doing in my room, Aoi?" he asked her. "I thought I heard someone moaning from outside, and it startled me so bad I dropped my backpack. I kept thinking to myself I was only imagining things, but then I see you in here and......" His voice trailed off as he looked down at Aoi.

"Karou, what is it?" Aoi asked.

Karou was staring at her with the biggest of goofy grins on his face. Suddenly he seemed to remember Aoi was sitting on his bed as he slapped a hand over his eyes. His cheeks were turning a bright red and sweat was already beginning to trickle down his head.

"Karou, what is it?" repeated Aoi. "Is something wrong?"

Pointing a finger towards the floor, Karou stammered out, "A-A-Aoi, c-c-could you please...." -- Karou then gulped very loudly -- "...Could you please put your clothes back on?"

Aoi looked down at herself. She then realized her kimono wasn't on her anymore. It had been tossed aside by the bed. No piece of clothing was covering her body. She was sitting in front of Karou completely nude.

Aoi snatched up her clothes and ran past Karou and out the door. She was so embarassed to have her true love finding her like this. Tears began to well up in her eyes as she ran back inside the main house.

"No!" she screamed to herself. "It was a dream! It had to be a dream! There's no way anything could have happened back there! I was alone!"

Aoi could hear Karou yelling for her. She wasn't going to stop running until she got to her room. "There was no way!...."

Outside an open window to Karou's room a very intoxicated Tina sat hidden in some bushes. She remembered waking up to find the landlady gone from her party so she went looking for her. She later found Aoi going into Karou's room and laying down on his bed.
