The fire
was dying, throwing fading shadows across the floor. As one moved away from the
fire, the shadows thickened, less inclined to play in the golden light. One
chair was shrouded in darkness, only glimmers of dark crimson showing through
the black. The chair opposite sat bathed in the faint light, shadows swirling
at the edges of vision. As the study door closed behind the faithful butler,
the two sitting in the chairs looked at each other. Cool blue met amused red,
and the fire seemed to darken further. His crooked grin revealed gleaming fangs
as he shifted slightly, mouth nearly too filled with fang and tongue to form
words properly.
"Question
and answer?" The Ice Maiden sitting across from him calmly marked the
place in her book and set it aside. As if she were asking the time, she glanced
at the fire.
"For
blood?" The vampire grinned broadly now, the light seeming to highlight
fangs while shadows fell, his eyes burning amidst the darkness.
"For a
moan." She nodded, platinum blonde locks sliding across the heavy wool of
her dark green suit. Rising, she paced to the door and clicked the lock into
place. Her monster moved, silently, to the table in the center of the room. A
click brought the green-shaded lamp on, bathing the table in a pool of
greenish-yellow. He sat on one edge of the table, and she came to sit on the
other. Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing faced the monster Alucard across
the expanse of English oak, each regarding the other with outward calm. She
crossed her legs, sitting Indian style on the table, and Alucard, with a grin,
did the same.
"Question," Integra said, meeting
his eyes. Alucard shrugged, almost idly if one hadn't noted the intensity of
his eyes.
"Do
humans fear the permanence of death?" She did not flinch as a shadow
slithered about her waist, moving upward towards the blue silk tie.
"They
fear that which they do not understand. Death appears permanent, as they do not
witness anything beyond it. They fear what they believe is the permanence of
death. Answer." The vampire shifted back, reclining on tangible darkness
as the shadowy tentacle unfastened the cross from her tie and laid it aside.
"I would, within seconds." A faint
sneer touched her lips as the tentacle slid about her tie, unfastening it
easily.
"Question:
would you turn me? Now, question. Do you fear the permanence of death?"
Alucard nearly laughed, amusement mingling with excitement in his eyes as the
tentacle shrugged aside the wisp of blue silk.
"From the gifts of your family, there is
no permanence of death as long as life exists for myself to feed upon. Answer.
Question." Her eyebrow twitched at the given advantage, yet she did not
move as buttons began to part their holes on her jacket.
"What brings the fear of death?"
"The
vision of it, the touch of it upon the senses and the knowledge that it is
inescapable," he said as his hat slid from his head. Both of them ignored
the fact that it simply vanished into the darkness. "Answer."
"Never,"
she murmured, a slight smile playing about her features as her jacket was drawn
away by the tentacle, left crumpled on the floor like a shed skin. The vampire
chuckled.
"Question:
would you allow yourself to be turned? Too simple, Master. Deduction." She
nodded, accepting the interpretation of the rules, and slid her gloves off.
Alucard sat up as his master began unbuttoning her silky shirt, watching
intently as the white fabric gaped to reveal a glimpse of dark skin. She
settled back into her unmoving position.
"Question." Alucard nodded, crimson
eyes narrowing.
"What
do you fear more, that which you are or that which you could become?" The
Ice Maiden shook her head.
"Single
statement question only. Deduction, Alucard." He flashed a fanged grin and
his coat, sunglasses and gloves vanished in an instant.
"Question, Master."
"Why
would you turn me?" His smile turned predatory, and the timbre of his
voice became a low growl.
"Strength,
honor, beauty, intelligence...why would I not turn you, Master?" A hint of
a smile played about her lips.
"Question
as answer. Deduction, Alucard." Such punishment did not seem to upset the
vampire as he calmly pulled off his jacket and red tie. The tentacle slid
beneath the open edges of Integra's blouse, sliding upward towards the
fastenings of her restraining undergarments. Her voice played at the edges of
teasing. "Answer, Alucard."
"Question: why you turned the police
girl. Question." The shadows moved both of them, swarming to leave them
stranded on a small island of light amidst towering bookcases which looked more
like disapproving sentinels.
"Why in the form of a game,
Master?" A complacent smile spread over her lips as she shifted back,
allowing the caressing shadows to support her weight. Almost instantly, she was
divested of loafers and socks, and a tentacle stroked her waist as it worked at
her belt.
"Reference
to the game itself. Deduction, Alucard." The vampire seemed to purr as he
shucked vest and shirt, leaving his skin glowing amidst the crouching shadows.
His own boots seemed to have faded away, leaving him barefooted and in slacks.
"Answer."
"It holds fascination for me."
"Question:
why do you continue to study vampirism? Again, too simple Master.
Deduction." His shadows withdrew slowly, leaving trails of cool across her
skin. Her hands slid over her stomach, lingering for a moment on the bare skin,
and then she unfastened her belt. Tentacles assisted, snagging the cuffs of her
slacks as they helped her draw the heavy wool over her long legs. White
undergarments remained, the rest of her skin dark. Shadowy tendrils assailed
her body, slithering over her skin, stroking the skin of her inner thighs while
others twined through her fingers and about her breasts. Her eyelids fluttered
for a moment, then opened firmly.
Question."
A teasing grin touched the vampire's lips as he shifted, gliding forward across
the table to kneel before her, the coolness of his body seeming to clash
against the aura of heat she generated.
"What
would you do if I did this?" His murmur died against her lips as he leaned
closer, brushing his mouth against hers. Tentacles drew her up, pressing her
warm skin against his. She gasped softly at the contrast of temperature, and
the vampire chuckled.
"Target reaction obtained. Forfeit to be
collected." The rules of the game stood, even though he felt Integra's
slight smirk. Alucard pulled her roughly into his arms, tentacles banished to
the darkness. Nothing gentle here, now. Only grasping hands and the eternal
struggle for supremacy. She bit into his lip, hard enough to draw blood, and
took pleasure in his low rumble as he wrenched her hair, yanking her head back
to run his tongue over her throat.
They
slammed into the heavy oak of the table, entwined. Integra's leg hooked over
the marble hip, pulling him closer as her blunt nails bit into his back. Fangs
grazed the top of one breast, leaving welts behind to be soothed by the swipe
of his tongue. Pale hands roamed dark honey skin, stroking deeper into the Ice
Maiden's guarded body. She pushed up, using her leverage to roll them over.
Shoved onto his back, he growled into her breast, letting fangs graze
warningly. Integra wound her fingers in his almost liquid hair, holding his
mouth against her as she slid, shifting position to grind teasingly. His abrupt
upward thrust nearly ended the teasing, and she yanked his head up, leaning in
to bite his throat hard, dull human teeth leaving a ring in the white flesh. He
laughed, flipping them over once more. One hand reached between her legs and
the game ended, instantly. She arched, pressing against his toying hand, and
his lips met hers.
They bit,
dueled, and fought as he moved again, drawing her up with him as he sat back on
his heels. Her legs were dark around his hips, his arms bands of shocking white
around her back as he pulled her onto his lap. Integra's head fell back,
platinum hair tickling her hips as he pulled her forward, forcefully. They both
shifted, her breath coming quickly, his hand tangling in her hair. Pulling her
head further back, he ran fangs over her throat, free hand splayed across her
lower back, guiding her movements.
Blood colored the crescents her nails left in
his shoulders as she moved, almost roughly. Blood colored his lips when he
lifted his head from her throat. Blood mingled in mouths as his hands moved to
her hips, pulling her into the rhythm with him. Licking her lips, she gripped
his shoulders firmly, lean muscle working to meet his upward thrusts. His mouth
moved downward again, fastening on a rosy nipple, drawing a moan from her
throat. Sucking hollowed his already narrow cheeks, and drew erratic twists
into her movements. Fangs teased heightened nerves, and they approached the
height of the evening together. Nothing ever truly happens in synch with
thought, and as Integra shuddered about him, gasping quietly and biting his
seeking lips, the vampire smiled. A smug expression which vanished when the
woman bit painfully hard into his lip and sucked at the blood which rose to the
wound. He gripped her, tightly, and she moaned again at the sudden rush of cold
between her legs, shuddering again in answer. He lay them back onto the table,
shadows winding about to shut off the lamp and extinguish the nearly dead fire.
One hand drew through her tangled locks, the other cradling her close. Integra
laughed softly, then harder when her monster shifted to gaze curiously down to
her.
"Target reaction wasn't a gasp. Forfeit
obtained illegally. Game point to me."
He had to
laugh with her.
