Don’t Ignore Me

Faye Valentine sat filing away at her nails. She nearly filed them to the cuticles! She had been thinking a lot about things on the Bebop. Or a person on the Bebop to be exact.
Faye was an attractive woman and she knew it. She had healthy purple hair that shined with pride and beautiful green eyes that couldn’t be forgotten. She was tall and thin with meat in all the right places. She wore a yellow, vinyl top and shorts that displayed her pale skinned body nicely. The shorts were small and lose and were held up by suspenders that attached to one side of the shorts; wrapped around her the back of her neck and connected to the other side of the shorts. The top was more of a vest that had one button on it; it covered the top of the suspenders and showed her cleavage and tummy. She had long, shapely legs covered by sheer thigh high pantyhose that darkened the pale skin slightly.
Faye wasn’t really conceited in thinking herself beautiful. She believed that if you had it, show it off. And that was what she did. She didn’t think herself better than anybody; she was far from thinking that. But she was used to getting attention from men. Men nearly drooled when watching her walk into a room or bend over to pick something up. Almost every man she’d ever talked to hit on her. She was content with this because it was how she got around. She didn’t have to sleep with every man in the solar system to get what she needed or wanted, she just had to show a little skin and tease him into giving her things. There was nothing wrong with that, was there? They gave her things willingly and it’s not like she told them she’d do things for them. It was their fault for assuming things. Anyways, the point was, men paid attention to her. There is of course an exception to this, though.
Spike Spiegel.
I am a little bit of loneliness a little bit of disregard
Handful of complaints but I can’t help the fact that everybody can see
these scars
I am what I want you to want
what I want you to feel
But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you, to just believe
this is real
So I let go, watching you, turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you're all that I got
No matter what Faye did, he just didn’t seem interested. Now being as she’s used to getting what she wanted, this came to her as a shock. Spike was what she wanted and Spike was what she couldn’t have. So naturally this made her want him even more. So much that she almost thought she might have fallen in love with him. But Faye knew better than to fall in love, he was just a man and men are liars and they cheat. He was just a guy, but a guy who had no interest in her. She couldn’t turn down a challenge, not one as good as this.
Faye filed her nails and continued to think about all of this. She frowned as she started filing the skin of her fingertips. Hissing she stopped filing the nail of her index finger to examine it, scowling silently she started angrily on the next finger. ’What kind of a guy ignores a woman like me? What kind of a guy is immune to all of my indirect advances?’ She thought as she nearly reached the skin of her finger.
“Don’t take your whole finger off.” Spike teased as he sat down on the couch next to her. She looked up briefly before turning to her attention to the nail that was now run down like the other. She glared up at Spike this was all his fault! If he’d just pay some REAL attention to her this wouldn’t have happened!
“What’s wrong with you?” He said hitting the power button to the TV with his foot to turn it on.
Faye looked up to see him wearing his wrinkled, blue suit. He sat relaxed and slouched down in the seat with his arms behind his head like a pillow. His brown eyes stayed transfixed on the screen in front of him. His suit jacket was un-fastened and the sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. His navy blue tie was loosely hanging from his neck and the top few buttons of his yellow dress shirt were unbuttoned. He wore the matching blue pants and a pair of socks; his boots must have been lying around somewhere on the Bebop. His hair was still the messy, curled, green mop on top of his head. His skin was tanned lightly and his features were strong and beautiful, yes, beautiful. He had a laid back, I don’t care kind of aura about him and it really seemed as if it were true. Once in a while he’d do something nice for someone, but Faye rarely seen it because it was rare that he ever did something nice for her. But the same could be said for her. They fought constantly and usually about food or money. Faye sighed and forced her eyes to look at her nails. Faye could tell he wasn’t really watching the television. She had heard Spike and Jet talking once about somebody named Julia. Jet yelled about something and Spike just seemed to turn away from him. He was supposedly looking for this Julia. Jet seemed sad and only yelled to try and cover it up. Faye assumed that’s what Spike’s mind was on.
This Julia person.
I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
“Tell me, do you brush your hair, or do you just wake up and let it do what it wants?” Faye figured if they were going to be in the same room together, they might as well talk about something.
Spike continued to watch the TV seeming to not have even heard Faye. Faye growled slightly, ‘what a jerk! Argh, why am I even wasting my time with this?’ Faye stood up from the chair she was in and crossed the small space to the couch. She sat down next to him and waved her hand in front of his face, “Hello? Spike, Bebop to Spike.”
Spike’s right eye twitched and he shook his head slightly. Seeing her hand he turned to her, “What do you want?” came his reply.
Faye gritted her teeth. “Nothing…” She stood up and walked away to her room.
Spike stared after her wondering what her problem was. She was acting strange today, but she was a woman and he wasn’t going to try and figure it out because all women were the same…
Psychotic.
I am a little bit insecure a little unconfident
Cause you don't understand I do what I can but sometimes I don't make
sense
I am what you never wanna say but I've never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do I can't convince you for once just to hear
me out
So I let go watching you turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you're all that I've got
Night had fallen and the stars had appeared in the velvet black sky. Faye stood hunched over the railing of the dock staring into the depth of the water. It was black like the sky and the only way you could tell water was there was the light reflecting on the ripple and the crashing of the waves against the posts of the docks.
Faye took a drag of her cigarette and puffed out the smoke slowly letting it rise and disappear as it got higher and spread out through the air. A gentle breeze blew and she shivered slightly as goose bumps formed on her arms. She pulled up the red cotton jacket she wore loosely around her arms to sit securely on her shoulders. The breeze picked up to a light wind and she noticed rain clouds rolling in in the distance. Purple strands of hair whipped around her face as the wind blew making ashes from her lit cigarette fly off. Faye tossed the last of her cigarette out into the water. She watched the glowing orange dot get picked up by the wind and knocked into one of the dock posts. It bounced off with a spray of glowing orange dots and than it went out as the water hit it.
She pushed herself from leaning on the railing and walked back to the Bebop her white boots knocking on the wood below her.
I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me

Faye had been thinking all day about this and she was tired of it. Spike would pay attention to her, he would listen to her, and he would do what she wanted him to do. So she made her way through the Bebop to the make shift living room. She stopped on the platform and looked down to see Spike lying on the couch. It appeared that everyone else was sleeping. The room was dimly lit but she could see he was awake and looking up at the ceiling. Faye watching from behind the railing as Spike’s eyes drifted form the ceiling to her. He had heard her heals and knew she was there. Faye locked eyes with him for the tiniest second before walking with determination down the stairs.
“Spike?”
“Yeah?”
“Why do you ignore me?”
“What do you mean, ‘ignore you’?” He stayed in his comfortable laying position.
“You ignore me. You hardly pay any attention to me. Why?” She didn’t carry any emotion in her voice.
“Is this one of those woman questions that no matter how a guy answers he gets slapped?”
“Just answer me,” she stood at the end of the couch where Spike’s feet rested.
Spike looked at her unsure of where this was leading. “I wouldn’t say that I ‘ignore you.’ I just don’t have a reason to ‘pay attention to you’.” came his reply.
Faye frowned, all of her indirect suggestive gestures and he didn’t have anything to pay attention to? She growled, as he rolled over on to his side so he was facing the couch.
“Was that all?” He asked, he seemed annoyed that she was there and bothering him.
“No, no that’s not all!”
No
Hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me, like it or not
Right now
Hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me, like it or not
Right now
I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Spike turned his head in surprise to look up at her. He hadn’t really thought about Faye, which was true. She was just an annoying woman living on the ship, attractive yes, but he didn’t really know her so he couldn’t say he liked her for more than her appearance.
“What more do you want from me woman, you asked and I answered so can’t you just leave me alone?”
Faye went from angry to sad in less than a second. Spike was clueless. He had no idea she had even been trying to get is attention she realized. “Spike?”
“What?” He looked up to see Faye in front of the couch. He hadn’t heard her boots so it surprised him to see her there. He watched as she lifted her hands and untied the red jacket; she let it fall to the ground. Her eyes were heavy and carried something he hadn’t seen before.
“What are you doing?” He half stammered as she put her right knee on the couch intending on climbing onto it.
“Giving you a reason to pay attention to me.” Came her husky reply.
Spike showed his shock freely. Faye smirked seeing his confusion and bewildered expression. Spike’s hands came up in a gesture of pushing her away be he never touched her. He didn’t know what to do and it felt like he was trapped. Faye climbed on top of him all the way and straddled his waist. She couldn’t get anymore direct than this and if he didn’t see that she wanted him, than he was truly stupid and not worth her time.
“What’s wrong with you? Have you lost it or something?” He didn’t know what to say as she looked down upon him with a smirk. She leaned down and whispered into his ear, “I’m doing what I’ve wanted to do since I first seen you in that casino,” she nipped at his ear.
Spike was utterly surprised by all of this. Sure he had thought about this once or twice but he never thought she had interest in him. He hadn’t ever had the kind of money she looked for in a man. He didn’t have things to give her. He just didn’t think he was her type. He hadn’t really thought her as his type either. And right now he didn’t know if he should return anything she did to him.

Faye kissed his neck by his ear and than his jawbone. Hastily she kissed his cheek and before he knew it her lips were on his. He tensed up and didn’t kiss back. Faye stopped and lifted herself just inches from his face, she looked into his eyes and asked, “Do you want me?” Faye told herself that if he said no she’d get up and leave the Bebop for good. But if he said yes than she’d continue.
Spike looked up at her and couldn’t believe she had asked that. He didn’t know what to say. He wanted to say, “Yes, yes I want you.” But than he thought of Julia and he knew he should have said a simple “No,” and pushed Faye off. But for some reason he couldn’t. He really did want this and it was being offered to him on a silver platter. Julia for the moment wasn’t there. And Faye wasn’t asking for a relationship, just a night.
Faye looked him in the eyes waiting for his answer. She wanted, hoped, prayed he would tell her yes. But she was still waiting. And after moments of waiting her hope left. His silence to her was a “No” and she was now planning to leave.
Faye gasped, “Spike?” Spike had wrapped his hand around the small of her back and with the other he brought her face down to his and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. Faye wide eyes drifted closed as she relaxed and almost jumped for joy. She wouldn’t have to leave tonight. And she kissed him back with equal passion.

Faye was still straddled over Spike as they kissed and groped one another on the old yellow couch. Spike’s hands traveled up Faye’s sides to her shirt and he tugged at the front of it. Finding the button he fumbled a bit before undoing it; her breasts gently spilled out pushing the two sides of the shirt further apart. She wasn’t wearing a bra and that was to be expected. He caressed her breasts gently, hesitantly.
Feeling his hesitation Faye broke the kiss and looked down at him. Without a word Spike pushed her back gingerly. Faye frowned thinking he was going to get up and leave. But what Spike did surprised her. He sat up with her on his lap still and he turned them both so his legs hung over the seat of the couch. His eyes stayed glued to hers as he cupped her bottom and with a grunt and a push from the couch he stood up. Immediately her arms wrapped around his neck and her legs squeezed his waist. He hoisted her up slightly making her hold tighter and than made his way to his room with her in his arms. He pushed the door open with one hand and closed it after entering the room. He brought her to the old dingy bed. He laid her down so she was horizontal on the bed. He climbed up so his hands and knees were on either side of her and looked down. Seeing her questioning gaze her said, “I just realized we were on the couch.” He smiled his usual smile that made people like him.
Faye smiled up at him. She was now starting to feel a little self-conscious. He seemed so different. He was gentle and nice and he was… He was with her.

Faye reached up and started to unbutton his shirt. When she finished Spike brought his body down to rest on top of hers but he still held himself up a little to keep from crushing her under his weight. He kissed her lips nibbling lightly on her bottom lip. He smoothed his tongue between her lips and parted them; she accepted and did the same. Their tongues chased each other in circles as they kissed with desire. She laced her fingers in his seaweed green curls and moaned softly into the kiss. He moved to rest his body weight onto his right arm while his left hand roamed over Faye’s slender body. He broke the kiss and attacked her neck with his hungry lips. He kissed and nipped at her soft skin and drew wet shapes on her neck with his tongue. Faye moved her hands down from his head to his shoulders and pushed his shirt down to take it off. Spike pulled away and took the shirt off completely discarding it on the bed without a thought. He than pulled at Faye’s, and when she lifted her self slightly from the bed he pulled hers off completely as well. Faye let herself fall the few inches to the bed and on impact her breasts bounced. Spike leaned back down and kissed her collarbone. He licked down the middle of her chest as his right hand grasped one of her breasts. He licked the other avoiding her nipple occasionally planting open mouth kisses on the supple mound. He circled it with his tongue and teased her by touching it lightly sometimes while the other was groped and kneaded by his hand. Faye could feel the heat of his member through his pants against her leg and it only made her want it more knowing it was there.
“Spike,” she breathed and gripped his bare shoulders.
He engulfed the little pink nub and suckled on it. She moaned more and arched her back wanting more. His hand fondled her right breast; he pinched her nipple and rolled it between his index finger and thumb causing her to squirm a little. Faye rubbed Spike’s back and gripped his shoulders as he pleasured her chest. He moved back up and took her lips in another kiss. Faye reached down and unbuttoned his pants; she undid the zipper and pushed them as far down as she could get them, which was to his thighs. He wiggled out of them and kicked them off.
Faye felt like her leg was being burned now that only the thin cotton cloth of his boxers was between him and her legs. Spike kissed the pale skin of her shoulders and pulled the strap of her suspenders over her shoulders and down her arms. He pushed her loose shorts down with her panties and sat up to pull them off entirely. He looked down at her, she was beautiful. And although her usual clothing left little to the imagination, he could have never imagined how wonderful she looked.
I can't feel
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Faye watched Spike pulled her shorts off leaving her in just her panty hose. He was magnificent. His tan skin showed off his muscles nicely. He was thin, maybe too thin, but his body looked more natural without the suit he always wore. Spike resumed his position on top of her and looked her in the eye, “Are you sure this is what you want?”
Faye nodded, “I’ve come this far, haven’t I?”
And with that he crushed her lips with his and kissed her like he loved her. Faye never wanted this to ever end. She was getting exactly what she wanted and he was giving her attention like no one ever had. He was so gentle and much kinder behind closed doors. She swore to herself that in the morning she wouldn’t regret this. Her thoughts were broken when she felt the tip of his hard member at her entrance. He lowered his head to rest in the crook of her neck and pressed in. Faye gasped and her hands tightened on his back. He raised his head to meet her eyes, “Are you ok?” he asked with concern.
She smiled softly and nodded, “I’m fine.”
Spike lowered his head again and gently kissed her shoulder and neck as he pulled out slowly and pushed in again. Faye’s breathing was shallow as Spike pumped into her. He felt so good inside of her, she loved that he was so close to her. She purred into his ear, he groaned and pushed in harder. His thrusts became faster and harder and the old bed started to make small creaking noises. He slowed his pace not wanting to be heard. Faye kept her arms around him tightly; she wouldn’t let him go until she was forced to. Faye moaned more as she felt herself getting nearer to orgasm, her moans increased with each thrust and in only seconds she came. Her body stiffened as he continued to push in and out of her. She arched her back at the pleasure and she squeezed him to her body. Shortly after Spike grunted and his body went rigid, he shook slightly with pleasure and held his breath. He then pulled out and slowly moved, causing Faye to let go of him, to lay beside her letting the breath he had been holding out. They lay silently catching their breath. And when Spike could finally breath with ease he pulled Faye to him and moved them to lay on the bed vertically. He pulled the wrinkled covers over them and wrapped an arm around her waist as she turned to her side to get comfortable. Faye laid curled up a little with her back towards him while he lay with his chest melted to her back and his arm firmly around her waist.
Faye smiled, she got his attention and even a little more. She was content with this moment and wouldn’t think about the consequences until they came. She told herself she wouldn’t have any regrets, and that’s exactly what she would do.
