Summery: The wars are over and Ikki and the Saints are all alive and trying to put their lives back together. Esmeralda is alive and married and her husband is planning on making Ikki pay for his choices on Death Queen Island. Now the Saints will have to work together to stop a man bent on revenge towards one of their own.

Chapter One: Her Return

Esmeralda walked through the streets of Athena. She needed to clear her head and this was the best way do it. She was supposed to be enjoying her honeymoon, and she had been ,until she saw Ikki. Just thinking about made her want to cry. She couldn’t forget the look of hurt that had crossed his face,once the shock wore off and then he was angry. Esmeralda had never seen him look that mad., but he had and that look had been directed at her. Then to make matters worse Ikki had seen Matt, her husband and then the look had gotten worse. The saying if looks could kill went through her mind, along with a feeling of intense heat, it was like she could feel his anger.

Matt of course had wanted to know everything. She had told him about how they had been in love and how he had killed her father. Of course Ikki had killed him thinking she was dead, but that was still unacceptable. She couldn’t forgive him for that and so she had to move on. Slowly she had gotten over him. It had been easier once she had seen him on t.v. attacking the other Bronze Saints, especially Andromeda. She hadn’t die, she had held on barely, one of the other Saints had gotten her off the island.

Last night Matt had told her everything would be okay. But when he entered her in was harder than before, as if he was competing against Ikki. It had been Matt’s name she had yelled out when she came, but in her dreams it had been Ikki’s that she called out. Praying Matt hadn’t noticed Esmeralda had left him a note saying that she had a surprise for him later. Now all she had to do was find something for him. She walked into a mall and headed straight for the lingerie store. She would make everything up to Matt tonight. She would forget about Ikki and enjoy being married. Matt was a good man, he was a police officer, he treated her with respect,he deserved better.

When Matt Dawson woke up he was alone. The memories of the day before came back to him as well as the anger. Esmeralda had been in love before and with one of the most violent Saints. Oh yes he knew who Ikki was, all the police did, they were expected to help them out if they could. That help usually meant keeping the innocent away. He knew that Ikki the Phoenix Saint had killed his wife’s father. It also seemed that Ikki didn’t care, well things would change, the law was different for the Saints and that made his stomach lurch. Ikki had gotten away with murder and no one was looking to change that.

When Matt saw Esmeralda’s note, he left one of his own. He told her he’d gone out for a walk and would be back later. He had the whole day to figure out how to hurt Ikki.he had heard Esmeralda call out the man’s name during the night and that was not acceptable nor was it the poor girl’s fault, it was Ikki’s. So he headed off to the Sanctuary, but found the Saints on the Acropolis and followed them instead.
The day out was to calm Ikki down. Athena wanted him relaxed and had sent a few other Saints with him. She also wanted them to see some of the people that they had saved. So here they were on the Acropolis watching a bunch of tourists take pictures and make comments. Some of those comments were about Shaka. The man had found a corner by Athena’s Temple and sat down crossed legged and began to meditate to the surprise of everyone. Milo was sure that he had fallen asleep and had walked up to Shaka and messed up his hair and nothing had happened.

Ikki himself was walking around with Shun. The younger Saint was tired, part of which was Ikki’s fault. Once he had gotten back to the house they were living in he had gone to Shun’s room, kicked Hyoga out and told Shun everything. The two had spent the entire night talking. Ikki had been trying to figure out how she was alive and why she was with that guy. He had seen the rings on her fingers and knew that she was married and that hurt. Shun had gone down to the kitchen and raided the fridge. Chocolate was his answer to everything and so he tried to calm his brother down. They were both going on two hours of sleep.

The other reason Ikki was staying close to Shun was that he was still suffering the effects of Hades. Shun hadn’t talked to Seiya, couldn’t even look at him. In fact Shun only let Hyoga and Ikki near him. Ikki wondered about that. Shun sat down beside Shaka. Ikki looked at them both. Esmeralda was back and he still had some feelings for her, Shun was close to becoming a basket case and Shaka was starting to take up more of his time and he didn’t want to know why. He left Shun in Shaka’s care and walked over to Poseidon’s Temple.

“He never could beat Athena.” Milo said, joining him
“He nearly did last time.” Ikki replied.
“Shun looks ready to fall apart.”
“He’ll be fine.”
“Well he’s your brother so you’d know, still maybe you should take him to Mu or a doctor in the city.” when Ikki said nothing Milo decided to press on. “I know this is none of my business but Shaka’s my friend so I need to know.”
“Know what Milo.” Ikki was starting to get irritated at the questioning.
“What are your feelings towards him?” Milo said and had the satisfaction of seeing Ikki blush.
“He’s a friend.” Ikki stuttered out.
“Is he? That’s very interesting.” Milo made to pull away, changed his mind and then leaned into Ikki. “Don’t hurt him Ikki.” Milo whispered in his ear and then moved away.
“What about you and Camus?” Ikki shot back.
“We’re not talking about Camus. I meant what I said Ikki,don’t hurt him. If you do I’ll have to hurt you. The Scarlet Needle is very painful. I....” Milo trailed off as he turned around.
“What?”
“I could have sworn someone was watching us.” Ikki arched an eyebrow at him. Milo shrugged and suddenly spotted someone else to talk to. “Hey Seiya what’s up?” and left.

Ikki just rolled his eyes. Milo was an interesting person, who had a habit of being fiercely loyal to his friends. What did he mean ‘don’t hurt him’. How could he hurt Shaka? They were all on the same side, so there was nothing to worry about. Ikki looked over at Shaka, God he’s hot was his first thought.

“Shaka.” Ikki said. That couldn’t be right. He was in love with Esmeralda. Though Shaka had better hair, and those eyes. He loved those eyes, when they were open anyways. Just looking at him was a deception of his true strength. “Shaka.” he said this time with a smile.

Matt smiled at this new development. Ikki not only had a younger brother, who looked like he’s fall over with a tap on the shoulder, but he had feelings for another guy. What a guy he was. Matt glanced at Shaka and decided he wouldn’t be that much trouble. Oh yes Ikki would pay for hurting Esmeralda, he would pay dearly. Now the question was who to pick off first?

Shun stood up and fell back down. Hyoga was beside in a second. Something was wrong something evil was here. Shaka put his hand on Shun’s shoulder, letting him know he had felt it too.

“Hyoga take Shun home. I’ll find out what that was.”

Hyoga did as Shaka told him. Ikki saw them and followed. The other Saints slowly left one by one. All had sensed the wave of anger, but it hadn’t lasted for longer than a moment and it was directed at Ikki. Shaka was the last one to leave.

Matt smiled, the blond would suffer first. But this was a Bronze Saint he was dealing with, so he picked up his cell and called a few friends
