Mizuki had perfect data on everyone. It was not arrogance it was a fact. So it was only right that he had a small obsession about Fuji Syuusuke, after all he managed to turn Mizuki’s data on it’s head every time he played. Fuji-san was always evolving so Mizuki had to try harder and harder to keep up. Because of his need to have perfect data though it was also perfectly understandable that he devoted a lot of time to studying Kaidoh Kaoru. Inui-san from Seigaku spent more time studying the anti-social player then he spent studying anyone else, even Tezuka-san. So at first it had started out as curiosity but had definitely morphed into something more. It was the main reason that Mizuki had tried to convince Kaidoh to come to St. Rudolph in that ridiculous doubles match, because Mizuki wanted to study him more.

Kaidoh Kaoru seemed to do that to a lot of people.

Take his team mate Momoshiro Takeshi for one. Their constant rivalry did nothing but drive the other boy on, and while they fought quite often they made a surprisingly good doubles team, Mizuki could attest personally to that. Also Momoshiro seemed to enjoy following Kaidoh around just as much as Inui did. Either that or the Seigaku regulars just liked crouching behind bushes.

--

It had started out as a normal day, Ryoma was sure of that. But then again whenever his Senpai’s convinced him to go on one of these excursions it was usually on what would count as ‘a normal day’. The day had become distinctly abnormal after practice though, when Ryoma had entered the changing rooms to find Kikumaru-senpai clinging to Kaidoh-senpai and loudly exclaiming that Kaidoh had a date. Momoshiro, who had been right behind Ryoma, started choking suddenly and Ryoma walked past him to switch into his regular uniform and head home.

Kaidoh-senpai had managed to pull himself away from Eiji-senpai and almost managed to escape the locker room before Inui cornered him. “A date Kaidoh?”

“It’s not a date.” Kaidoh responded gruffly and shifted awkwardly on his feet. Ryoma rolled his eyes, really Kaidoh-senpai was too polite. But that was one of the things that made his senpai so cute, so Ryoma thought it was okay. Of course Ryoma would never admit this out loud but he had a small crush on Kaidoh-senpai, but then again almost half the regulars did.

“Made made senpai.” Ryoma said to Kaidoh as he pushed Inui-senpai out of the way to get through and noticed the snake-shot specialist coming out right behind him before Inui could close in. Smirking slightly Ryoma had been on his way home when Momo-senpai had caught up to him on his bike.

“Oi Echizen Don’t you want to follow Mamushi?”

“Yadda.” Ryoma stated and walked away.

He’s still not completely sure how Momo-senpai managed to drag him along. Probably something to do with brain damage from lack of oxygen, Momo-senpai and Eiji-senpai like to strangle him too much.

--

Kaidoh twitched a little. Trust his senpai’s to follow him even though he had told that it was not a date. It wasn’t.

Really.

If Kamio wanted to invite him out to see a movie and then go grab something to eat afterwards it was perfectly fine. And it wasn’t a date.

For one thing their respective stalkers might get a little upset if it was.

“I swear, they’re following us.” Kamio muttered and Kaidoh twitched again. They weren’t talking about teammates though, despite most of the Seigaku and Fudomine regulars following behind them. Instead they were talking about two puffs of orange hair that had sat a few rows behind them in the movie theater and now were sitting in a close by booth in the restaurant.

“They probably are.” Kaidoh muttered. “Wakato’s followed me before, with his fanclub he’s hardly inconspicuous.” It was true, far more then he would like Kaidoh had found the change-over tennis player located strategically on Kaidoh’s practice route. And more then once the orange haired teen had showed up and watched him while he was shirtless in the river. At first Kaidoh had thought he was doing it in order to copy his boomerang snake but after a while he’d realized that the pervert was definitely thinking about something else.

Kamio frowned. “I don’t know if Sengoku does it on purpose. Usually we bump into each other and he shouts out ‘Lucky’ and then proceeds to drag me around.” Kamio took another sip of his drink. “I’m just glad Atobe hasn’t found out yet. He gets mad enough about Shinji, he’d hire bodyguards for me if he found out about Sengoku.”

“Still don’t know why you hooked up with that bastard.” Kaidoh glared darkly in the direction of his hidden teammates and hoped they couldn’t hear what was going on.

--
Across the room from them Inui and Mizuki traded glances. “Ii data.” Was their thought.
--

“He’s a good seme, as seme’s go. A little conceited, true. But he cares.” Kamio took another sip and gave Kaidoh a significant glance. “He let’s me ride the rhythm at least.” Kaidoh blushed and the hissed.

“Fshuuu, still a bastard.” Kamio smirked at him.

“Least I have a seme.”

--
“Wait... oh I know what this is ” Kikumaru hopped up and down in his seat, then grabbed onto Echizen and squeezed. “They’re Uke Buddies ” At the blank glances he received the hyper boy decided to explain. “They’re part of Uke’s Anonymous and because of their hobbies and location were paired up to be Uke Buddies. Once a month they’re supposed to get together and talk about their problems.”

“So it’s not a date?” Momoshiro asked and looked vastly relieved when Eiji nodded. Too relieved in Echizen’s opinion. Narrowing his eyes he wondered if the dunk smash specialist was planning on making a move on Kaidoh. Not that Ryoma should care but.... okay, he cared. Hmph.

“Kamio-kun’s an uke?” An-chan turned to Shinji, who shrugged.

--

“You should really think about getting a seme.” Kamio smirked. “They’re useful.” Kaidoh glared.

“I haven’t found someone who would work.” He muttered lowly, praying that his teammates couldn’t hear him. Luckily because he was trying to be quiet and his head was bent low no one could hear him or read his lips.

“Eh? Honto ni?” Kamio leaned closer to the other boy. This was new news at least. In the other both Sengoku and Wakato leaned closer to listen.

“Inui-kun’s too weird, and so tied up in data tennis and those weird juices. He’s a good trainer but not someone I’d date. Momoshiro’s too loud and annoying. Wakato... he might not be loud but his fanclub is. They’d maul me if we tried anything.”

For the first time Wakato wondered if it might be a bad thing that he was so liked by the girls.

“Is that it? I mean, there are plenty of other choices right?” Kaidoh was confused now. Those were the only three he’d actually caught showing signs of interest. Kamio sighed, the other boy had no social skills did he. “C’mon, let’s go to the street courts.” For the first time everyone noticed that both boys were carrying their tennis bags.

The two paid their bill and headed to the street tennis courts, leaving everyone else to follow from a respectable distance. “What about Echizen?” Kaidoh choked.

“Echizen? ? I am not letting a freshman top me.” Kaidoh stated. Kamio snickered at this and Kaidoh’s blush got worse.

“Oh I dunno, he’s got those intense eyes.”

“Urusai ” Kaidoh took a swing at Kamio who started running, Kaidoh took up after him.
--

Kamio and Kaidoh were just finished warming up when their followers arrived at the practice court. Mizuki had a plan. It was an evil plan, as many of Mizuki’s were want to be, but it was a definite plan.
“Kaidoh-kun.” Kaidoh looked up at his shout and scowled slightly. “Play a game with me.” Stunned silence met that request and his prey’s eyes flickered slightly. Mizuki fought down the incessant urge to cackle. “If I win you go on a date with me.”

((Author: Blame ellelee. *So* blame her. And my Mizuki muse, who is just as dangerous as my Fuji muse apparently. ^_^ Con/crit welcome And suggestions too I have *no* idea how to end this. Who do *you* think Kaidoh-chan should end up with? And should I include a lemon?))
