STILL FEEL
Though I’m not dead, I am not alive. People like me – vampires – aren’t supposed
to feel. Are they? Not as far as I know.
Walter skimmed a black-gloved finger down the tenement wall,
frowning with only mild dislike as the syrupy, maroon liquid dripped down. These people were slightly above
disgusting. Hiding out in the alleyways
and waiting for their masters in black to call them, the daytime guards of the
vampires were the worst sort of toadies.
They hoped, prayed, their masters would turn their pearly whites in their
direction just once, so that maybe, possibly, if they were the right kind, they
would become vampires themselves.
Of course the real vampires would never accept this and
refuse to sink as low as to touch an underling in that fashion. The toadies still hoped and the vampires
still teased. But these particular
minions were the vicious, murderous kind.
Sir Integra didn’t stand for them and so neither did Hellsing.
“I shall return to Hellsing,” a dark voice purred in his
ear.
The title Angel of Death was not given to Walter
lightly. In fact, at one point he was
Hellsing’s best and youngest, brightest and deadliest. But nothing, not ten thousand years of
familiarity nor all his training, would ever stop the
silent shiver from running down his spine when Alucard spoke.
“It’s only unnatural if it doesn’t happen, Walter,” the
vampire said before whispering off into a shadow, gone with a breath.
Upon reflection, it was probably unnatural if, on some
level, that voice didn’t make you send a prayer to God for your immortal
soul. Walter shook the feeling with ease
– having much experience in that – before watching Sir Integra climb into a car
and drive off into the rain with a roar.
Nodding quietly to himself he took down the statistics of the night and
placing the right incantations over the dead vampires. There was no use in a more powerful vampire
finding them and returning them to their former glory.
That is when he found her.
She stood, looking out the broken walls at the rain. Her gray suit was bloody and her hair and
face covered in blood. Walter reminded
himself that this was the first night Officer Victoria had tasted human blood
from the body. Previously she had drunk
from a medical bag or just killed zombies.
Walter knew that a Hellsing vampire almost never got to drink human blood, that perhaps it wasn’t good that they took too much
straight from the body otherwise the charms and breeding might break.
Seras Victoria
walked wordlessly out of the covered alley and into the dark and foreboding
night. She blended imperfectly with the
dark for a few moments until sinking into black. Walter took a moment to consider her.
She, despite being a vampire, had refused for a long time
not to drink blood, even from the medi-bags.
She was a more-or-less quiet girl with a silent determination to prove
herself to Hellsing. Walter had heard
Alucard say more than once that she cared too much about fitting in with humans
and maybe not enough about. True she was
young, newly a vampire and probably not a day over twenty-five. Still, she carried herself with a mature
air…most of the time.
Not to mention she was terribly beautiful. Walter was sophisticated enough not to stare,
but twenty years ago he wouldn’t have been able to control himself. Her soft, blonde-red hair, creamy skin, long
legs, and serenading voice, not too heavily accented and pleasant to hear –
Walter was sure twenty years ago he would have aggressively pursued this bombshell
vixen.
But Officer Victoria was a vampire. Her electric red eyes and vampiric canines
should have repulsed him – the same as Alucard or any other vampire’s repulsed
him. On her however…they were almost
cute.
And she was kind to him, respectful, and well mannered. She rarely lost her patience and had
impeccable taste. Seras Victoria
was the kind of girl Walter had once envisioned himself marrying.
Dedication to Hellsing had come first and foremost
always. In the end he settled for cheap one-night
stands and the drink called loneliness.
His solidarity had never bothered him; he was content to serve Sir
Integra and the Hellsing Organization until his death. Nearing his fiftieth year, Walter liked to
think of himself as well preserved. He
was certainly not as well preserved as a vampire, but he had retained most of
his youthful power and some of his exuberance.
He had given Hellsing all he had to offer without a thought and Hellsing
had taken it without a thought. He
wasn’t bitter; he was disappointed.
Somehow he had envisioned himself slightly happier than he was today.
So perhaps he didn’t know why – but he certainly had an
inclination – he had taken a not-so-fatherly affection to Seras Victoria. It didn’t really matter. She would never see him in that light, and
Walter would never pursue her. The end
was the end – the case filed in the back of his mind for a rainy day.
Walter opened the car door and began the long drive up to
Hellsing. Lost in thought, not four
minutes from the now-vampireless alley, his still-sharp eyes picked up a gray
figure in the rain. Seras, he thought to
himself. Slowing he pulled next to her
while rolling down his window.
“Officer Victoria,” he said clearly into the nighttime rain.
She turned to him and then looked down at her feet. Then she opened the car door and sat herself
in the passenger seat. Walter closed his
window and took off down the road. The
drip of water from Seras’s nose to the black leather of the seat was the only
noise. Walter looked at her briefly to
see that her palms were flat on her knees and she seemed to be looking at
nothing particularly interesting directly in front of her.
Walter considered it best not to speak at this point and
decided to mind his own business. The
drive was quiet, and Seras slipped out of the car as soon as it stopped. Walter regarded her exit quietly, knowing she
had a lot on her mind. She had finally
done it and she wasn’t at all pleased.
This much he could tell. Perhaps,
in a while, she would open up her doors again.
For now…well, she was closed off.
Walter went about his chores mindlessly, parking the car and
setting to the armory. All his weapons
shone brightly in their cases, from swords to automatic weapons, and even
models of Seras’ own Harkonan. Noticing
a slight change in the atmosphere of the room, he turned suddenly to the far
wall and saw nothing. A frown setting in
on his face, he returned to his normal tasks, and then retired to his room.
He closed the doors to his room, locking them safely and
searching with his hand for the light at the same time. He felt the switch and flipped it, but
nothing happened. A power outage? No, the alternative power source would have
already kicked in. A burnt out light
bulb was a better explanation.
Gently, his eyes accustomed themselves to the dim light of
the setting half-moon. A shadow crossed
him and he turned swiftly to the source.
A slim figure was perched at the edge of his bed, hands bracing
themselves on the frame as the figure leaned over. His eyes searched the figure for
recognition.
“Seras!” he said with surprise, more than a bit overwhelmed
by her presence.
Slowly her eyes turned to him, glowing pink in the moonlight
and set on him directly. Her head cocked
to the side, and she stood with feline grace, her feet stopping directly before
him. Walter was silent. Had he misjudged her when he thought her a
more-or-less tame vampire? Was she just
the same as the rest, a mindless slave of her own desire for blood? Surely Alucard would never allow his servant
to go so far without doing something.
Wouldn’t he?
Her eyes were set on his neck, her hands twitching at her
sides. Slowly, but determinedly, Seras
pressed her lips to Walter’s throat, causing him to shudder. A slight spear of fear shot through him. Knowing it would be a glorious fight, Walter
still couldn’t help but think she would win.
She was stronger, younger, and a vampire.
But she removed her lips from his neck and set them softly
on his own, applying just the right amount of pressure to make Walter’s lips
separate. She gingerly kissed his bottom
lip. Walter felt himself wondering if he
should stop this before it began.
Certainly she wasn’t in her right mind.
He backed away a step, his heel hitting the wall. “Officer Victoria,” he began, “Seras. Please, I understand your upset about tonight
–”
With strength she rarely displayed, the young vampire set
her hands on his shoulders and neatly pushed him against the wall, continuing
to kiss him tenderly. Her hands
eventually slid to his chest. Walter was
becoming a little dizzy, not just because of the kiss, but because of her
hands, her smell, her body pressed against his so invitingly. With minds of their own, his hands put
themselves on her trim hips, gripping her slightly as she inched closer to
him. Her tongue skimmed his lips,
searching for his. When he met her she
sighed and leaned her full weight into him.
She was light, he noticed, despite her strength. She quivered, sending shocks down to his toes
and back to his fingertips.
Her hands were working at the buttons of his vest, making
quick work of them and tossing it away.
Their kisses grew more insistent.
Walter’s shirt fell to the ground about the same time Seras’ uniform dress
did. It had been a long time since a
woman had been in this state of undress in front of him, and Walter took every
advantage to run his deadly hands over her youthful skin. She twitched under his fingers, like
electricity jumped between her skin and his hands.
When her bra fell to the floor, Walter’s lips curled into a
smile at her full, firm, milky-white breasts.
They were perfect, and she moaned so delightfully as he took his time
exploring them. Her nipple stiffened
sharply at his touch, and she was so smooth and pure it was difficult to
imagine she was a bloodthirsty killing machine.
He brought his mouth to her breast, kissing the supple curve and laving
his tongue and teeth on her rosy nipples.
She gasped, her sharp nails slicing the band that held his hair
back. Her fingers tangled in his dark,
wavy hair, pulling him closer to her.
Again he took her lips, hands kneading her bare beasts and
down her hips. Her kisses were feverish,
lusty, so he would forgive when one of her sharp canine’s sliced his lip – not
too deeply. Immediately she backed away,
her eyes full of sorrow. “Walter,” she
said fearfully, her hand going to her slightly bloodied lip. He couldn’t read her thoughts, but he thought
she assumed he would send her away now.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered.
Walter felt the wound, blood leaked down his chin, coppery
and scented. “It’s okay,” he told
her. He knew she’d not done it on
purpose. Her eyes closed as she backed
away. “Really,” he assured her, taking
her by the shoulders and kissing her softly.
At first she was stiff and unsure, but the taste of blood
must have overcome her misgivings, for she suckled on his cut lip, her hands
splayed over his chest and shoulders. With
a tiny, almost feral noise, she tugged at the belt of his trousers and shucked
them off his hips. Walter slid his
fingers down her ribs and hips, slipping them under the elastic of her panties. She pulled at him, her lips on his neck – he
knew she was tempted, but somehow trusted her.
His boxers slid to the ground as he fell between her legs,
grinding against the wet warmth of her core.
She purred, locking her legs around his hips. “Please, Walter,” she begged as he kissed her
neck, tongue winding down to her breasts again.
Her voice was low and lusty, the tone striking Walter in a way he’d not
felt in a long time. Sliding a hand down
her taunt backside and thigh, he pulled her leg so that one knees was hooked
around his shoulder. It braced him as he
looked down in her reddish pink eyes.
They were dark with desire.
When he finally entered her she let out a high mewling
noise. He turned and kissed the inside
of her knee, careful to remember that she must be a virgin – otherwise Alucard
could never have turned her. He moved
slowly at first, reveling in the tight velvety softness he was nestled in. She gasped, her eyes rolling back in her head
behind her lids. Moving faster, her knee
fell to his elbow, but he paid it no mind, she was keeping rhythm so sinfully…
Suddenly, so quickly he barely caught his breath, Seras
rolled over him, her hands resting on his chest. The weight on his crotch was heavenly, and
looking up at her bathed in moonlight was a sight. Her canines had grown out dangerously, but
the look she gave him didn’t scare him – it aroused him. Her fingers traced delicate patters on his
chest as she moved slowly, gaining a swifter rhythm gradually. With lightning speed, she leaned over him,
pinning hands above him with her own. Her breasts barely brushed his chest, and her
teeth hovered over his pulse point.
Nothing had ever felt so arousing as her fangs against his neck, her
weight pushing him further and further inside of her, or the plateau of
pleasure she refused to let him leave.
He could feel her muscles clenching, and not soon after she purred his
name a final time, he pulled his hands free of hers and ground her hips against
his. She cried out again, wordlessly, as
she came again, this time with him.
Spiraling downwards, Walter wrapped his arms around her
naked form. She was lying atop him, her
hands on his shoulders, pressing against him with short breaths. He cradled her like that, waiting for her
breathing to slow. She nuzzled his neck,
placing delicate kisses on his throat and shoulders. Her lips hovered over his before she kissed
him lightly, her lashes fluttering against his cheek.
All of his strength was lost when she pulled away, still
perched over his hips She looked at him
honestly, her eyes wide with bright, unshed tears. “Thank you,” she whispered. “For teaching me.”
“What?” he asked.
“That I can still feel,” she said softly. “I wanted to remember…it has been so long
since I’ve felt anything.”
