“So, we’ll see you tomorrow?” Hikaru said to Haruhi at last. The boy spoke as he ran a comb through his hair just before bed. He had spent to hours on the phone talking her into his and Kaoru's plan.
“Yes.” She begrudgingly replied then cleared her throat, “I’m looking forward to it.” the last was said with forced cheerfulness. After all, this was her birthday present they were negotiating. The said their goodbyes and hung up. Hikaru stripped down to his skivvies and climbed beneath the covers of the bed, cradling behind his brother. Kaoru lay facing the widow eyes closed.
“She agreed, then?” he asked.
Hikaru settled against his warm form, “She did.” It took some coxing, but for Haruhi’s birthday the twins were going to be taking her shopping. She had insisted that she didn’t have anything she wanted but still by the sheer will of the Gods had she been won over in the end.
Kaoru thought about how his brother and Haruhi had been acting towards each other recently. If he could give them a push in the right direction then maybe they would fall in love. Kaoru sighed impatiently, or at least stop pussy-footing around the issue all together.
“What’s wrong?” Hikaru asked, lifting his head from the pillow to look at the side of his brother’s face.
“It’s Haruhi,” Kaoru got a bad idea. The thought bubbled up from nowhere. It took hold and he figured he may as well play it out. “Every time I start to fall asleep, she enters my head in her little white camisole and panties, like when we first realized she was a girl. She gets the cutest blush on her face too.” He closed his eyes and smiled at the image he was creating. “And she turns to me with the shy expression, holding a hand to her mouth in the most coy way.” Hikaru shifted his hips a bit. Kaoru continued rolling on to his other side so he could watch his brother. “She then says, ‘Oh, I didn’t hear you come in,’ and holds the camisole in front of her to cover her chest as drops eye contact, blushing harder.” Kaoru stopped there and sighed again. His little game was becoming arousing to him too. “It’s really annoying.”
“If it were my dream.” Hikaru said as pushed his brother back on the bed and held the other boy’s face lightly in his hand. “I would say something like ‘let me help you change.’” He laughed a bit.
Kaoru did his best mock of Haruhi, which was pretty convincing, “‘Oh, Hikaru, you’re too kind.’”
Hikaru leaned forward, pretending that he would kiss Kaoru who was pretending to be Haruhi. It was the point in their game when Kaoru would look away and say something cute that they could use in Host Club after the break. But as it turned out, Kaoru decided to see what it would be like to make good on what they had been eluding to for the past two years and pushed up to touch lips with his brother. Hikaru jumped but found he was oddly curious too. They stayed in the same position for a time and then Hikaru turned his head to the other side. And then they stayed again. Kaoru tried pushing his tongue in Hikaru’s mouth. Hikaru obliged, parting his lips. Kaoru rested his tongue against that of the other boy. True neither was experts when it came to kissing -neither had ever had a girlfriend or in one‘s case a boyfriend- But the movement was strangely natural (minus the tongues). Comforting even. But not in the least romantic. And again, neither moved.
Kaoru was the first to draw back, “You know what?”
Hikaru replied, “It’s just not for us.”
“No, it’s not.”
Hikaru smiled, “I love you. Just not in that way.”
“Same here.” Kaoru replied. He turned onto his side, gazing out the large picture window. He let a silence settle to make Hikaru feel at ease before getting his last words in.
“It would be better with our toy.”
Hikaru say bolt straight and peered at his brother who was once again resting quietly. He laid back once more but thanks to his brother, Hikaru couldn’t stop thinking about Haruhi. All he had to go by what the glimpse of skin he’d seen when he and Kaoru were trying to change her clothes those so many months ago. Her creamy, smooth, pale skin…
Hikaru rolled to his other side. Those were inappropriate thoughts to be having with one’s brother in bed with him. Sleep wouldn’t be coming for at least a few hours. Or maybe he could get out of bed and taking care of his growing problem. But then he’d wake up Kaoru and who knows what he’s ask when Hikaru climbed back into bed. Hikaru just closed his eyes and pretended to sleep while Kaoru grinned like the Cheshire cat as he watched the snow fall outside.
The next morning, however, proved the importance of sleep. Kaoru was fresh and wide- eyed, however Hikaru looking like he’d been sent through a dishwasher. The older twin huddled himself around his cup of coffee as he walked behind Kaoru to the car.
“Where are we taking her again?” Hikaru asked after taking a big gulp of the life-giving liquid in his hands.
“Anywhere she wants, of course.” Kaoru smiled at his brother, “but I was thinking maybe we could go to Aoyama.”
“Aoyama. Nice.” Hikaru nodded with a yawn. He closed his eyes and rested his head against the seat. The car ride was silent as they made their way to Haruhi’s apartment. He thought he felt the car stop but then decided it must have been his imagination. However, the jostling of the seat as someone climbed in was not so easily ignored.
“Is he alright?” Haruhi asked from somewhere to his right.
“Just tired. Hikaru had to go the bathroom all night but didn’t because he was worried about waking me up.” Were Hikaru more awake he’d have been surprised at Kaoru’s observation. As it stood now, he was this close to just going to sleep. Some time passed and Hikaru felt a hand running through his hair the way one may pet a child to comfort them. There was a lumpy pillow beneath his right ear too. Voices were speaking incoherently above him in hushed tones.
“Aoyama? I’ve heard of it but never been. I don’t go into many parts of Tokyo.” Haruhi said as she ran a hand through Hikaru’s hair. His head had fallen into her lap shortly after Kaoru picked her up. Hikaru’s coffee made it into his brother’s hand. Kaoru had started talking generous sips from it. Haruhi had asked where they were going but Kaoru just said it was a surprise. All she knew for sure was that the boys were talking her shopping. Not that she had anything she needed.
“You’ll enjoy it.” Kaoru smiled, “We’ll escort you properly.”
“Just as soon as Hikaru wakes up?” Haruhi smiled.
“Just as soon as we get to Aoyama. Hikaru should be wake before we get there. It’s a bit of a drive.” From this point Hikaru did fall asleep and it wasn’t until small hands gently shook him did he wake up. He yawned and looked at Haruhi who smiled at him.
“We’re here.”
Hikaru blinked at her but followed getting out of the car. He stretched in a long line taking a deep breath. After that he seemed much more alert.
“Where’s my coffee?” He turned to look into the car.
Kaoru spoke up, “I drank it all.” Hikaru just blinked at his grinning brother.
“Well, let’s get going.” Haruhi spoke up.
“Maybe lunch would be good.” Hikaru yawned.
“Maybe.” Kaoru said. He led the way to the restaurant that he, his brother and their parents usually eat at when they’re in Aoyama. He liked it because they didn’t list the prices, therefore Haruhi wouldn’t be able to complain.
The trio was seated and began to peruse the menu. Haruhi studiously read over the options with confusion.
“Am I missing the prices?” She asked.
“There aren’t any.” Hikaru said closing the menu. He always ordered the same thing anyway.
Kaoru smiled, “Just order what you want.”
“I haven’t heard of half the things on here.” She smiled nervously. Hikaru took a sip of his water, “we can order for you.” Kaoru agreed. The younger of the twins pushed the call button on the table for the waitress to come. Hikaru ordered “the usual” and something Italian for Haruhi. Kaoru ordered something that sounded French.
The food was like nothing Haruhi had ever tasted before. So many flavors and textures and foreign spices that her mouth didn’t even know what to make of the exquisite meal before her. Hikaru asked if the food was alright, gaining nothing but a muffled “mmmmmhhhmmm” in reply. Kaoru mentioned that they would be going around Aoyama a bit and then staying at their home that wasn’t too far away.
After lunch the fearsome threesome started walking around, window shopping. The twins tried to get her to actually buy something but she kept refusing after taking a look at the price tag.
“I’m sorry,” she said in one store, “but I just can’t see spending three thousand yen on a shirt.”
“It’s a neutral tone; you could wear it a lot.” Kaoru said holding it up to her and facing Haruhi towards the mirror.
“It would look good on you.” Hikaru said picking up another one in moss green. He held this over the other.
“Can we just go to another store?” Haruhi asked as politely as possible. The twins grumbled but did as she asked.
Halfway to the next store, Kaoru fell behind a bit and called a head asking that all price tags be removed from the clothes in her size. And when they arrived only to find there were no prices, Haruhi had to just grin and bear the twins’ insanity when it came to this kind of thing. After all, their mother was a fashion mogul, and she had taught her sons well.
They picked out a cute silk blue dress with the color ranging from the palest azure to the darkest cerulean and a translucent silk turquoise drape. A pair of darker blue shoes completed the look. And one cannot forget a high quality, long jacket in this kind of weather. They picked out a fashionable knee length hunter green velvet coat to go with the rest of the ensemble. The outfit in total cost six hundred sixteen thousand three hundred and fifty yen. And there was no way either of them would let Haruhi know.
The twins led her over to the jewelry counter (all price tags removed by order of Hikaru) and had the store clerk lay out all of the trays. Kaoru pulled her aside and asked that she not say anything about the pieces, else, Haruhi figure out how expensive they were.
Hikaru picked up a white gold necklace with a large, perfect sapphire in the center. He placed the delicate chain against Haruhi’s neck, fastening it together. “I think you would look good in this-”
“STEP AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!” Tamaki shouted rushing over to pull Haruhi into a hug. “Did they hurt you?” He looked concerned.
“We had lunch and they dressed me up like a doll.” Haruhi looked confused. Tamaki looked her up and down, a deep blush forming on his cheeks.
“You look super cute! What are we doing now?” He looked to the disgruntled twins.
“Jewelry.” They said together.
“Now we are going to rest.” Haruhi said as she stepped away from the counter. She took the necklace off and handed it over to he confused store clerk.
“Hey, boss, what are you doing here?” Hikaru asked as Kaoru went about signing out almost every piece of jewelry in the store to be looked at and bought later. This whole thing was probably too much for her all at once. She wasn’t used to shopping for the sake of shopping and they had been at this for the better part of four hours.
“Well, I called over to Haruhi’s place to see if she was busy today and her dad said that you two had taken her. So I called your house and they said that you were in Aoyama. I figured I would just check all the stores your mother designs for.”
“That’s… really smart of you.” Haruhi said after she thought about it.
“Why don’t we go to one more store and then back to our house?” Kaoru said picking up the heavy sack and tucking it into the bag holding the clothes Haruhi had shown up in. If he had it his way, he’d burn them. The fabric was such a low quality, it didn’t suit Haruhi at all.
The last store happened to be a shoe store. Hikaru grinned devilishly as Kaoru gently sat their toy down on in the chair. Hikaru lowered himself to the ground in front of her and with the tenderness of a feather gripped her calf in his left hand, pulling the shoe off with his right. Kaoru handed his brother the leather boot and Hikaru slipped it ever so carefully on to her foot. He gently, slowly brought the zipper to the fur-edged top then pulled the leather laces and laced over it deliberately running his fingers against the inside of her knee. He repeated the movements with the other foot with all the smooth, gentle, deliberate ministrations.
“You’re blushing.” Kaoru said in her ear.
“I’ve never seen someone handle shoes that way.” Haruhi gazed down at Hikaru who winked and wiggled his eyebrows.
“ENOUGH!” Tamaki shouted, pulling Haruhi up and away from the twins who chuckled manically as they paid for the boots.
Tamaki got to ride to the Hitachiin house with the twins and Haruhi after making a big fuss. He sat next to Haruhi with Hikaru across from the girl and Kaoru across from the older boy. The twins held hands all the way to the house, Hikaru giving Haruhi (who was staring out the window) glances while talking with the other boys. Kaoru noticed but didn’t say anything, Tamaki, however, bristled over every flick of the older twin’s eyes. Hikaru would not get a chance to act on whatever perverted thoughts he had running through his head. The host club king stewed as he imagined every side glance Hikaru gave as another erotic situation. He would pay if he so much as laid a finger on Haruhi, Tamaki would make sure of that.
Of course had Tamaki been paying more attention, he would have noticed a certain Hitachiin twin eying him. But the host club king was always oblivious when it came to things concerning him.
A/N- Oh, Goddess! Ouran it so great! I hope you like my first Ouran High School Host Club Fanfic.
You want another chapter, I want reviews. Maybe we can help each other out...
A/N from the FUTURE (Well… the future is now seeing as how I wrote the first part of this 8 years ago). Life happens… like a lot of it. But I figured that since I’m in a place where I can play sick games with my beloved imaginary friends, I would re-edit this guy since I’m, like, a paid writer and shit and better than I was at *ahem* 20. I’m also going to cap off this story and post up a new one I have been working on since I watched the series again recently (Like… 3 times, I <3 you, Netflix).
Saying all that to say, you can power through the chapters now, or wait until each new one is up. It’s up to you, my loves.
