AN: I hope this whets your appetite for my H2 (yes, I'm writing a sequel to Anxiety-Ridden Honeymoon) fic. This is just a little something to keep you entertained till then. ^_~ More author's notes at the bottom.

Shinji (and Asuka, too) probably acts somewhat OOC, but it�s intentional. This isn�t the same Shinji of the anime series, after all. And in case you�re wondering, this is also the title of another BGM piece, but was used in the series. The best example I can think of is in the episode 10 pool scene when Asuka teaches Shinji about thermal expansion, fufufu. XD (It also happens to be a personal favorite Eva background music piece of mine, probably because it's so relaxing.) I named this piece after it since this is the song you hear during that scene in the game...fitting no? ^_^

Taking in a deep breath, he turned to face her.
Smiling, his blue eyes were truthful and loving. "Yes, I do love you, Asuka. I love you very much."
Not being able to hide her smile, Asuka threw her arms around his neck, laughing.
She laid her head against his right shoulder as Shinji gently wrapped his arms around her back in a protective embrace.
He softly, sweetly, added: "I want...to be with you, forever."
Tears came to Asuka's eyes at that, and she didn't know why.
Blinking them back, she honestly replied, "Shinji...I want that, too."
Blue eyes meeting blue, eyes wet, the couple stared at each other.
Searchingly. Longingly.
Asuka nervously licked her lips, and was about to say something when Shinji suddenly kissed her.
Their lips pressing together, the girl was surprised when he suddenly deepened it, his tongue gently tangling with hers.
Although they were always affectionate with each other�hugging or kissing�it was never so, well, romantic!
Breaking away, breathing heavily, Shinji and Asuka hugged as they looked at each other, blushing, silent.
The towel having fallen from covering Shinji's groin, Asuka felt something hard press against her stomach.

Unable to keep his cool any longer, Shinji found himself shaking at her words, nervous himself.
"We...we don't...have to. Asuka. If, neither of us feel ready, then we don't...have to."
Blushing, he quickly added, "I, just want to get this soap off me, and thought you wanted to join me. After all, you wanted us to take a bath together, right? So this is the next best thing."
He laughed slightly, hoping it would overpower the loud beating of his heart.
But it didn't.
"Shinji."
Her voice was serious.

Tears suddenly came into his eyes.
"I only feel truly happy when I'm with you, Asuka. I really think you're my better half. As long as we promise to be faithful and be there for each other, then... I..."
"Shinji...!"
Before he could even finish his sentence, she had kissed him, hard.
Asuka pressed Shinji up against the wall as they were covered in water, their hair and bodies becoming wet.
Tongues tangling, the pair became more relaxed in the other's arms with each passing minute.

She wasn't able to hide her smirk, "Uh...Ha...Even better, why don�t we rinse off then go to your room?"

Puzzled, the 14 year old girl blinked. "What?"
Blushing, he quickly asked, "Do you want me to make you come with my mouth? You don't have to do it for me if you don't want, but I want to make you feel good..."
Staring at him, she was surprised he�d suggest that despite being slightly perverted.
Asuka blushed in response. "You mean oral sex? But that's...I mean, isn't it dirty? Anyway, it isn't fair to you, Shinji. You should get to feel good, too."
A frown. "So...No?"
Biting her lip, she shook her head, offering a slight smile.

Resuming their kissing, the couple fell onto his bed, lying side by side.

The couple stared lovingly at eachother, faces flushed but happy.
Asuka sweetly said, "Goodnight..."
Shinji smiled warmly in reply. "Night..."
Their bodies feeling warm and relaxed, the two children felt sleep overtake them.
They fell into a peaceful slumber, comforted by the fact that no matter what would happen in the future...
The two would find some way to stay together, forever.

AN: The Girlfriend of Steel 2 video game is GAINAX doing what they do best: making good on its promise of "service, service!" ^_^ The GoS2 manga (called "Angelic Days" in the US), which the game is based on (the game itself is based on that wacky sequence in TV episode 26, just before Shinji rejects Instrumentality and decides to continue living in the Real World/Reality.) isn't really fan-servicey. Though I think the manga improves over the game in some respects. (Shinji is his anime counterpart as opposed to the slight H possible world version (Yup, he's a perv not just in the anime sequence, but a few times throughout the game as well -_-), Asuka and Rei actually become friends as opposed to love rivals, and Kaworu doesn't have the "sophisticated gay-boy" stereotype of the game, but his mysterious and sexual-orientation ambiguous nature of the anime. (The GoS2 manga includes a back-story to Kaworu that's not in the game.) And yes, the game�s in Japanese, but luckily Evangelion fan Reichu has written a walkthrough that's up on GameFAQs for those out there who acquire it.

Personally, I like the GoS2 universe; it's refreshing to see Shinji and others have relatively normal lives, although nothing beats the psychological awesomeness of the original Eva. ;) (FYI, the GoS1 game is about Kirishima Mana showing up and attempting to steal Shinji away from a jealous Asuka. ;))
