Notes: Not much, really. However, I ought to repeat the warnings about references to torture and sex -- nothing graphic at this point, but still... There might be further extentions of this if I am in the mood and this goes over well. Oh, yes, and this is in fact in 1st person PoV -- it's just that the person in question is rather messed up, mentally.

None So

Her body was warm against his. Her skin was mostly smooth to the touch, and her hair silky. She smelled of cheap soap and ammonia and herself; only one of those scents appealed to him. The rest...
He wasn't as naive or as innocent as she thought he was. He knew what had happened those times she'd left him and returned smelling more strongly of ammonia than usual and of other things. He knew what those smells meant, knew why her face felt rougher than usual.
He might be blind, but he was not stupid...and not as innocent as he'd been before.
He didn't remember much about before; it was easier not to. He knew it wouldn't take much effort for him to recall the days before she wasn't the only woman he knew -- when they bothered using names for each other, when he could see, when she had both feet...
...before he failed them, failed her, failed...everybody...
It hurt less to not remember. The only one who had, who could forgive him was her...and she blamed herself.
Easiest, now, just to live in the 'now.' That meant he didn't have to think of himself, nor did he have to worry about the future. Thinking about the future hurt too, knowing what might happen every time she rode him...or when she was taken away...
If he didn't think about that happening to her, maybe it wouldn't happen.
She told him, once, very long ago that she'd been told to keep on living -- that something good would eventually happen.
He wasn't sure, but as long as she was waiting, hoping for something good, then he'd wait as well, even though he no longer hoped for anything.
