She quickened her pace as she hopped from tree to tree, glancing back every so often to check on her pursuer.

He ran on the ground, keeping a steady eye on her progress as he navigated through the foliage.

Their surroundings held neither sight nor sound of any creature within the vicinity. For a place such as the Digital World, such an occurrence was quite a rarity. Yet neither of them seemed to mind their ephemeral seclusion. They both knew, once the chase had begun, that their interaction would be a short one.

He made the first move, small fireballs forming at his finger tips. He watched her jumping pattern as he threw his hand in her direction.

�Badda-Boom!�

She turned her head at his attack call, eyeing three fireballs coming in her direction. Using her tail ring, she deflected the quickest of the fireballs and dispersed the flames into sparks. She then leapt into the air and turned, facing the next two in mid-air.

�Lightning Paw!�

A quick strike from her yellow, paw-like gloves dispersed the two remaining fireballs. In the same turn, she landed in the next tree and kept going, smiling at his attempts to stop her.

The Impmon smirked at her agile reaction, still keeping his distance on the ground. He summons two small rings of fire within his grasp, one within the other. As the flames increase in speed, a sphere of fire forms in the center of this blazing loop. He watched her leaps and bounds from tree to tree, anticipating her next movement as he unleashed his next attack.

�Infernal Funnel!�

The Gatomon continued her traversing in the treetops, not even bothering to gauge his attack. She knew that she could deflect anything he threw at her. It wasn�t until she saw his attack pass her by, however, that she questioned his motives. Her answer came in a blast ahead of her, his attack having hit the tree in front of her. He had taken out a chunk of the branch to which she was jumping.

She sailed over the burning limb, watching it fall to the ground as she reached the apex of her jump. Her only option was the one she took, landing on the middle of the tree beyond and pushing herself off onto another. She dug the black claws of her gloves into this new tree, scaling around the length of the wood as she safely made her way onto the ground.

No sooner had her feet touched the grass below than a red gloved hand pressed on the tree in front of her. She turned slowly, following the glove to a purple arm before taking note of the smile on his face.
