Soul Eater Demon - part one
Wind rushed down the street, dried leaves whooshing around building corners and down stairs. A fountain, turned off for the winter months, was housing several birds whose feathers fluffed up from the cold wind. The windows on a newly built skyscraper glinted with oranges and pinks of an autumn sunset.
A lone metal detector stood in a cold, empty room, barring entrance to an ominous door. A wallet, a handful of coins, a watch, a belt, shoes, a jacket, a few more coins, a small packet of lubricant, and finally, a single ballpoint pen were dropped onto a tray on a table, and Light Yagami took several steps through the metal detector. A guard opened the door for him with a quiet, “Have a good night, sir.”
Light nodded and, gathering his belongings, passed into the protected room.

With a smirk, the young killer looked up at the wall of monitors, ignoring (for now) the hunched up figure in front of them. Most of the screens were showing empty rooms, a couple monitoring outside, and a few were watching various members of the Kira Task Force go about their business. Light was re-fastening his watch when the figure spoke.
“Light-kun.”
“Ryuzaki.”
“How is Misa?”
“She’s well, thank you. How is the case today?”
“It’s well. Kira is still killing. 26 criminals were killed today. In accordance with my suspicions of you being Kira, we’ve compared times of death to when you change classes. Unfortunately, all the times have lined up.”
“That doesn’t mean much, Ryuzaki. Only that Kira may be a student. He, or SHE, may also be a teacher. Or he or she may not be involved with a school at all. It doesn’t seem to prove anything.”
“Nonetheless, the chance of you being Kira has increased 3%.”
“Where is my father?”
“Taking a short nap in his room.”
“You know, Ryuzaki. . .”
“Yes, Light-kun?”
“If I was Kira. . .”
“Yes?”
Light smirked ever so slightly, popping one of L’s cookies in his mouth. He moved to a table to complete his nightly assignments.
“Maybe I’ll show you later.”
-+-+-+-+-+-
“Chief Yagami.”
The chief of police looked over at the world’s greatest detective, a boy young enough to be his son. His shaggy black hair was partially concealing his stare, but Chief Yagami could still feel his eyes.
“Yes, Ryuzaki?”
“I would like to inform you the odds of your son being Kira have increased again.”
Chief Yagami sighed deeply. It was not uncommon for L to announce these things with no warning as he was leaving for the night. He pulled his coat on, checking for his fake police I.D. before nodding to L.
“Understood, Ryuzaki. Will he be sleeping here again tonight?”
“Yes, Chief Yagami.”
“Very well. Good night, Ryuzaki.”
“Good night, Chief Yagami.”
L’s lips twitched as he placed his eyes back on the screen monitoring Light’s bedroom. He would prove Light was Kira. Tonight.
-+-+-+-+-+-
A few hours and many lemon cupcakes later, L jumped slightly as Light looked straight into the monitor, apparently having found the cameras placed in his room. He watched Light’s smirk grow, as the long distance staring contest continued.
“If I was Kira, L,” the speakers announced as Light spoke aloud in his room, “I wouldn’t mess around with my secret killing technique. You. . .you, I’d want to kill with my bare hands.”
The camera jolted and went fuzzy.
He had disabled it.
“Shit.”
-+-+-+-+-+-
L rushed up the staircase, running as quickly as he could, feeling, knowing, that Light was going to do something to prove he was Kira. And he was going to catch him.
His bare feet padded on the carpeted hallway floors as he rushed to Light’s door, unlocking it quickly, and barging inside, quite unannounced.
He scanned the room quickly.
No Light.
“Shit,” L muttered to himself. “Has he already…” gotten away?
He was about to turn back to the hallway when he smelled something. It smelled. . . sweet, almost like grapefruit. And then he heard the sound of a bathtub filling.
He slowly pushed Light’s bathroom door open, his mouth falling open. There, in the middle of the bathtub of bubbles, reclined a very naked, very smug Light.
“I thought that would work,” Light said, a very smug look on his face.
“W-. . .What?” L finally replied. His heart was still pounding, the adrenaline making it rush through his body rather quickly. And rather easily to certain parts.
“You haven’t had a bath today, Ryuzaki,” Light smirked. “Join me. Don’t you want to keep playing our game?”
“Why did you say those things on the camera? You’ve increased your chances of being Kira by 12%,” L said, lightly chewing his lower lip.
Light ignored him.
“I thought this one might be your favorite. You, the great detective L, out to capture Kira. . . and me, the killer, Kira, about to confess, then escape, under your very nose. You want me to be the bad boy. The naughty boy. Don’t you, Ryuzaki.”
“I-…” L stammered, for the first time being caught off-guard.
“Don’t make me come out and get you, L,” Light said sharply.
L’s eyes widened and he nodded, the blood suddenly rushing away from his brain. His world grew fuzzy, fuzzier than the camera Light broke just to get his attention.
“Misa bores me,” Light said, pouring some shampoo into his palm as he watched L’s unsteady steps towards him. “You, on the other hand. . . the forbidden fruit. Especially now. Kira’s archnemesis, the only one it really matters to kill. . . Making love to you would be like. . . Well, it would be the ultimate climax.”
L’s face flushed horribly. “M-Making love? Who said anything about making love, Light-kun? I only came up here because I thought Kira was escaping,” L argued unconvincingly.
“Certainly,” Light drawled slowly. “But if you truly believed I was going to escape, you would not have dismissed everyone else tonight, nor would you have moved my camera to such an obvious location. And you would have alerted at least Watari-san of my behavior instead of just barging up here.”
L’s shirt, baggy as it was, felt uncomfortably restrictive as he struggled for a cool response to Light’s latest observations.
“You may be three of the world’s greatest detectives, but I’m not stupid, either,” Light said in a smug voice.
“Ah, of course not,” L said, regaining some of his composure due to the compliment.
“Aren’t you going to join me, Ryuzaki?” Light asked, shutting off the faucet as the bath was almost full. “If you humor me, I’ll give you a present later.”
L rolled his eyes but shuffled toward the bathtub with obvious trepidation.
“I won’t tell the task force,” Light said quietly, watching as L’s eyes met his own. “Our game need not interfere with the investigation.”
L nodded absently before he suddenly stepped down into the bathtub, still fully clothed. He sank deep into the hot water and smiled. He tipped his head backwards, wetting his hair, before shampooing and rinsing his messy black locks.
“This was a good idea, Light-kun,” L said from beneath a pile of bubbles. ‘It will give me a chance to figure out how you kill, Kira. . .’ he thought to himself. “Than-KYOO!”
L choked on some water in surprise as Light suddenly grabbed his waist and pulled him to the brunet’s own body. The detective flushed and felt himself get light-headed again, wondering how, and more importantly, WHY, his prime suspect was making him feel this way. He felt a tightness in his pants that he was sure Light would notice as well, especially pressed as closely as they were.
Light leaned forward and pressed his face into the crook of L’s neck, inhaling deeply. He gripped the detective’s skinny frame close while running one of his hands into the back of L’s shirt.
“Mmm,” Light moaned softly. “You smell like secrets and sweets, mystery and molasses, genius and ganache. . .”
L’s head swam even more.
“Captures and cakes, lies and lemon, justice and jam. . .”
L finally snapped out of his trance and flew forward to kiss Light harshly, unable to resist continuing their roleplay.
‘If they’re even roles…’ he reminded himself before sinking into the murderer’s deep kisses.
-+-+-+-+-+-
Light pulled L’s shirt off him and tossed it, a heavy, wet smack telling him it landed somewhere near the toilet. He unbuttoned L’s baggy jeans, struggling with a belt he wasn’t expecting, and just let them sink to the floor of the tub. A few more tugs later, and off came Ryuzaki’s boxers and the dark-eyed man was finally naked in the warm water.
Grabbing a hold of him by a single butt cheek, Light kept L’s groin to his stomach, the detective’s flexible legs naturally folding around his waist. He pushed him to the wall of the tub, glad L had decided to go all out with their bathrooms, glad the tub was in-ground, bigger than standard, and just the perfect height for certain X-rated events. . .
Light sat L carefully on the edge of the in-ground bathtub/on the floor, and continued kissing him, wondering what changed the great L’s mind. He heard L mumbling words into his mouth and pulled back.
L had a glazed look in his eyes, and when asked what he had been saying, responded, “Please, Kira, I know I’ve been bad.” His fuzzy eyes met Light’s and he whispered, “Don’t kill me, Kira. I just need punished.”
Light smirked.
He pinned L to the bathroom floor, arms up above his head, and asked, “Why should I do that? Why should I only punish you? You’ve been awfully nosey, haven’t you, L. Don’t you know? I’m going to be the god of this new world. It’s bad karma, making enemies of a god.”
He noticed how flushed L’s neck and chest were and heard distant whispers again.
“…-ship a god. I know. I’m sorry, Kira. I should have worshipped you.”
Light was pleased with how well this was going so far. He dipped down and planted small but firm kisses down the side of L’s face, then down his neck, across his shoulder blades, and down to his nipples.
“Light-kun. . .”
“Call me Kira, L,” Light murmured with a grin. He ran his long fingers up L’s equally as long legs, ghosting past his balls.
“Kira, then. . . why are you doing this?” L asked softly, resisting the need to arch into Light’s touch.
“Maybe to prove I’m Kira,” Light said as he began kissing a trail down L’s stomach. “Maybe to prove I’m not. Does it matter?”
“Yes,” L said, struggling to sit up, to regain control of the situation that was quickly spiraling out of control. “I cannot rationalize your behavior.”
”Does it need to be rationalized?” Light asked. He placed a hot palm against the inside of L’s thigh, making the detective wriggle.
“Kira would have led me here to kill me,” L said, fighting through the thick fog in his brain. “Kira wouldn’t make love to anyone, especially me. Unless he knew it would cause me to drop my guard. Kira could lead me here to pleasure me, then kill me, or to use me to pleasure himself. But it would still not be making l-luhhhh. . .”
Light had sucked L’s erect cock into his mouth. Mouthing the pale, throbbing organ, Light’s thoughts shifted to his bedroom, mentally rifling through his things to find his lubricant. . .
-+-+-+-+-+-
“Mmnnnnuhhh. . .” L groaned as Light removed his mouth from his cock, kissing the tip one last time.
“Follow,” Light said softly, rising from the bathroom floor. He dragged L behind him, unceremoniously tossing the emaciated detective onto his bed. He dug through his sock drawer, finding his lubricant hidden inside one of his socks.
“Would Kira do this to his nemesis?” L asked softly, his legs unconsciously spread apart.
“I wouldn’t know,” Light said, turning around to face L with a big smirk. “But if I was Kira, it would be very likely that I would toy with you, much how I toyed with those first few criminals, controlling them, making them do things they would have never done otherwise. . .”
L’s eyes widened, sensing something coming that was as close to a confession as he would get. He started sitting up, hoping Light hadn’t done anything to the microphones that were planted in the walls. But he didn’t get very far before he was pushed back to the blankets by an insistent hand.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Light asked sharply. He pushed L, turning him onto his belly, and climbed atop him. Light wedged a knee between L’s legs and forced them to spread.
“Light-kun, I’m starting to think maybe this is a bad idea. . .” L said, trying to push himself out of the pillows. His eyes grew as he felt a very slick finger sliding into him.
“Light-kun. . . please. . .” L whispered.
Light’s sadistic smile was even greater as he heard L’s pleas. ‘Like I would hurt him…’ he thought to himself. ‘Like he’d ever guess the great Kira has honestly fallen in love with him. . .’
He worked his finger into L’s channel, gently fighting the tight muscles.
“Shh. . .” Light cooed as he kissed the small of L’s back. “I don’t think Kira would be cruel to someone during sex. Not to someone innocent like you.”
“I-. . .mmm. . .” L whimpered. “I’m only innocent until we begin this, Li-. . . Kira.”
“Then relax and worry later,” Light answered.
Light worked another finger into L’s virgin channel, trying to resist slamming his fingers into the tight, hot velvet. He felt L quiver ever so slightly and saw goosebumps rise along L’s butt and back. He watched his fingers, knuckles disappearing into a puckered hole, only to reappear, the puckers slowly relaxing. He eased a third finger into L’s entrance, hoping it would be enough. The darkness inside him was struggling to ram into this stupid detective, to hurt him, to bring him down for thinking about bringing him down. . . He would be a god in a world free of evil. L would not get in his way.
-+-+-+-+-+-
L gasped in pain, Light thrusting into him for only the second time. Tears welled up in his eyes, his wrists pinned to the mattress by none other than Kira.
“Light-kun! Please, Light-kun, no,” L cried out.
“Call me Kira,” Light growled. He bit deep into the flesh at the base of L’s neck, relishing in the cry of pain. “Call me Kira and relish in this. In being beaten by your enemy. This is the first case you’ll lose, L, and the whole world’s eyes are on you.”
L squeezed his eyes shut, hiding the tears that had formed. He tried to ignore the throbbing ache in his chest, tried to ignore the feeling that he was somehow being betrayed by a lover.
“Ki-…L-Light-kun, I would like to stop playing this game,” L said softly, clenching his teeth to ignore the harsh thrusts from the monster, Kira.
The thrusts faltered.
“L. . .” Light began. His eyes closed at he kissed the angry bite mark on L’s back. “I. . .”
L rested his cheek against the pillows and exhaled in relief as Light’s thrusts stopped. Even after the pain, the feeling of Light’s cock filling him, buried inside him to the hilt, was comforting and arousing. Between that and the small apologetic kisses Light was showering on his back, L finally began to experience a sexual awakening.
He heard Light take a deep breath and whisper, “How about you just call me Light?”
A tiny smile fell on L’s lips, wondering how, even after all that, Light could possibly be a killer. “Okay,” he answered. He shifted his legs ever so slightly, readjusting his hips. His erection was finally returning, bit by bit.
“Nngh.”
“Yes, Light-kun?”
“N-Nothing,” Light stammered as L shifted his hips again. A low, throaty moan sounded in the room when L began fuck himself on Light’s cock. His waifish hips pushed and pulled, taking and relinquishing his cock just a little at a time. Feeling the change in atmosphere, Light reached between their bodies to gently handle L’s balls from behind.
“Light. . .”
“Yes, L?”
“Why would Kira make love to his nemesis?”
Light leaned over to kiss on L’s neck and whispered, “I’m not Kira. I’m Light. Only Light.”
-+-+-+-+-+-
“Oh. . . oh. . . oh. . .”
With every one of Light’s thrusts, a soft ‘oh’ escaped L’s lips. His spidery fingers twisted into the pillows he was still resting on and he arched his back more, changing the angle Light’s cock was entering him.
“Oh!”
“Nnnnnnn,” Light moaned as he grabbed L’s hip with one hand. “That’s your angle, huh? L, maybe. . . One day, when this case is done, maybe we could. . .”
Light’s words lit a fire in L’s groin. He felt his erection throb, his breath getting shorter with each passing second. His neck got hot and he clenched the pillows harder. He had never taken the time to read about sex; he wondered if it could give one a heart attack or if Kira was finally killing him. If he was about to die, it certainly felt better than he expected it to.
“Maybe we could what, Light-kun?” he begged gently, his voice tight. Sweat dripped from his hair, a few black strands sticking to his forehead. Heat began spreading through his spine and his hands and feet tingled. “Maybe we could what?”
Light’s gasps were getting harsher, his mouth hanging open, though his teeth were clenched. “Maybe. . .” he started. He pressed firm kisses to L’s neck, moving his soft hair out of the way. “Maybe we could try. . .”
“We. . . could. . .” L heaved. He felt himself approaching climax. The idea that this would be his very first orgasm with another person vaguely crossed his mind as he struggled to speak. “Fuck! What, Light-kun?”
The tempo increased as both boys felt themselves coming. Light pushed and pushed, burying himself in L as he filled the tight channel with his come. L twisted the pillowcases in his hands, biting down on the nearest one and groaning loudly as he came, pearly ribbons sticking to the pristine sheets below.
As he came, Light moaned, “Be lovers,” as L shouted, “Yes!”
L collapsed immediately, his body worn out entirely. Light followed suit, landing heavily next to his lover. Both their chests were heaving and L quickly began to shiver.
“Are you cold?”
“Mhm,” L murmured as Light pulled a thick blanket over the two of them. His eyes kept dropping shut as he attempted to watch Light’s face. ‘For any signs he’s Kira,’ he tried to convince himself, ignoring any thoughts that he just wanted to look at Light’s face.
Minute signs of emotions were flicking through Light’s eyes and across his lips but L couldn’t catch any of them quickly enough to tell.
“You look like you’re really off your game,” Light said. “I have something that will perk you right up.”
Light slowly got out of bed and took a large white box from his table. He brought it back to the bed and handed it to L. He took a bottle from a small refrigerator and picked up another small box.
L looked at him quizzically.
“Open it,” Light insisted.
L’s eyes lit up as he opened the large white box to reveal the biggest, most delicious looking chocolate cake he’d ever seen, pre-sliced and covered in icing. The bottle held cold, sweet tea, and the small box was full of sugar cubes. He turned big eyes up to Light and smiled a very small smile. Light was offering him a small plate, a fork, and a glass for the tea.
“Thank you, Light-kun,” he said, bowing slightly.
-+-+-+-+-+-
Light licked traces of chocolate icing from the corner of L’s lips and smirked. With L’s guard down, he pushed him onto the bed and climbed atop him, insisting on being kissed. L agreed and, without Kira making an appearance, the two of them shared kisses in silence for many minutes.
A sudden knock at the door startled them.
Light called out, “Who is it?” He looked down at L and whispered, “Who could that be? We’re the only ones here tonight.”
L bit his thumb and nodded. “Watari is here as well, Light-kun. Perhaps it is he.”
“Uhh. . . it’s Matsuda, Light!” a voice called. “Aren’t you coming downstairs? We can’t find L. Watari doesn’t know where he is. But hey, there weren’t any deaths overnight! We have to tell L!”
Light sighed deeply. Morning already, then.
“Yes, I’ll be down soon,” he called back to Matsuda. “I know how this must look,” he started to explain to L.
“I know you’re Kira,” L said. “Or at least that Kira is inside you. After a few more months of accusing you but finding no solid proof, I’ll turn the case over to the world committee of police. We can disappear.”
“But what about. . .”
“I will have Watari let a few select people believe I have been killed by Kira. Someone will try to replace me, but will have neither the same reasoning skills, nor the same connections, as I. They will succeed neither in determining who Kira is, nor in apprehending him. As he will be by my side and we will have disappeared.”
“It sounds like you’ve already thought about this,” Light said, a bit of a blush coming to his cheeks.
“I have. . . dreamt, of course,” L said, getting out of bed and heading to the bathroom. “Misa will be very upset.”
“Yes, I suppose she will be,” Light laughed.
“Care to bathe before we return to the investigation?” L asked. As Light rose to follow him, L smiled to himself and turned on the water.
-+-+-+-+-+-
“Light!” Misa shouted as she ran into the room, throwing herself in Light’s arms.
“Misa-Misa!” Matsuda shouted in joy. “Would you care for any tea?”
Misa smiled prettily at Matsuda and nodded, watching the doting young man rush off to find her some tea. If she wasn’t in love with Light, Matsuda-san. . . Well! She did love Light, so it didn’t matter!
Misa sat at the edge of the table and watched L and Light eagerly. The two of them seemed to be getting on well today. Usually, they were at each other’s. . . throats? No, more like they were at each other’s brains. They had brain challenges all the time. ‘Who can figure this out faster’ fights.
“When can Light leave today?” Misa asked loudly. “Misa-Misa wants to do something! Misa-Misa wants to go dancing, Light!”
L’s eyes narrowed as he kept focused on his computer. “I’m afraid Yagami-kun cannot leave today,” he said coldly. “We’re at a pinnacle point in the investigation.”
Misa frowned deeply, saying, “You always tell Misa-Misa that! How many pinnacle points do you need before you solve it and Light is free to go on dates with Misa?!”
L apologized, explaining that they were extra focused today due to there being no deaths overnight. Or at least that’s what he thought he said.
“Look, Light-kun cannot go with you today or any day!”
Misa’s wide eyes stared at L, noting his flushed neck and the small hickey that was only barely showing beneath his collar, his disheveled hair, his rumpled clothes, his. . . smell, like grapefruit. She glared at him.
“Why do you smell like Light’s soap, Ryuzaki?!” she demanded.
Light chuckled and stood between the two of them, calmly keeping the peace before L announced what they had done overnight or kicked Misa in the mouth.
“Look, Misa, sweetheart, L is right. We’ve found out some new information overnight and we’ll be busy all day. This is a huge investigation, but we feel like we’re close to a true breakthrough,” Light said, his voice calming both of his jealous lovers.
“I have an idea. How about tomorrow night the three of us go dancing? I’m sure with all L’s connections, he can find a great dance club close to here,” Light said.
Misa smiled and grabbed onto Light’s arm. “Oh, you mean it?” she squealed. “Oh, of course, even Ryuzaki could come if it meant Misa-Misa got to go dancing with her Light!”
Just as L’s mouth twitched in anger, Misa’s phone rang. When she saw her manager’s number, she rushed into a different room to answer it, her excited, “Moshi-moshi, Misa-Misa here!” being cut-off as a door shut behind her.
Just then, Matsuda re-entered the room with a tray of tea.
“Matsuda-san, I have an assignment for you,” L said. “I want you to be Misa’s date today. Take her shopping, to a movie, and then to dinner. We’re much too busy here to be interrupted by her anymore. Don’t leave her side for a moment, though. She is still under suspicion and needs to be kept under surveillance.”
L grinned into his ice cream sundae as he got rid of two of his biggest annoyances for the rest of the day.
