Tamaki felt abandoned. Exactly five seconds into their amazing trip to the Zoo and the others had deserted him. The twins had raced off to find the monkeys, Haruhi had been dragged off by the twins, Kyoya was discussing potential business deals and Mori had taken Honey to get some ice cream. Not one of them had asked Tamaki to join them and, though he usually would go racing after the twins, Haruhi was in an anti Tamaki mood today.
So, muttering to himself, Tamaki wandered over to the Australian section. He had never seen anything Australian before and he was very curious. No doubt the others would seek him out when they realised they were missing him. The place was totally empty thanks to Kyoya buying the whole place out so Tamaki entered the Koala enclosure alone. There were four nice sized gum trees with sleepy Koalas dozing happily in their branches. There was only wire on the outside. The inside was a simple walkway that circled some distance from the trees and above the ground. This kept the koalas and people close but not too close.
"wow...Their claws are big" Tamaki observed out loud when he found a koala he could see very clearly. Before he could say another word their was a sound like a rushing wind. Tamaki heard a voice behind him murmur "Yes. If you were to try catching one it could certainly fight back."
Spinning around, Tamaki saw a very beautiful girl with dark brown hair, bright green eyes and olive skin standing before him. She wore a long green dress that brought out her eyes but it was strangely decorated. It had leaves and gum tree blossoms instead of frills or embroidery.
"Do forgive me princess. You gave me a start" Tamaki recovered his wits and immediately defaulted to host mode, "I must say it was certainly a surprise worth having. You're absolutely lovely"
The girl blushed with a small smile and took a few steps closer.
"My name is Jeanie. What's yours?" She asked softly. Tamaki couldn't help noticing the Australian accent.
"I'm Tamaki Suoh. It's a honour to meet you. A very great honour in fact.Do you have a last name my dear?" Tamaki gently took the girls hand and kissed it when he saw no resistance.
"No...We don't have last names." The girls grinned.
"we?" Tamaki asked curiously. He had to know more about this gorgeous creature.
"Tree Spirits. See that tree to the right? That's my tree." The girl pointed.
Tamaki blinked stupidly for a few moments.
"You...Are you really?" He enquired uncertainty.
Jeanie proved her point by disappearing. Dissolving into stray leaves tossed by the wind.
"Oh my" Tamaki gaped and Jeanie reappeared in front of him. In fact, unbearably close.
"Tamaki...see that poor tree down there?" She pointed to a small, sickly gum sapling that struggled for survival down below.
"Oh yes...I see" Tamaki nodded. He was still trying to process the fact he was seeing a tree spirit but he was also beginning to believe very much in love at first sight.
"well the dear thing hasn't got a spirit. I've been waiting for a nice boy to come here alone so I could ask them for help. Will you help me save it Tamaki?" Jeanie asked hopefully.
"Tree princess, for you I would save a whole forest full of trees" Tamaki declared in true host King fashion. This made Jeanie giggle and kiss his cheek.
"I'm glad because I think you are beautiful inside and out" she grinned.
Tamaki touched his cheek and blushed deep red.
"Why...thank you princess..." He smiled sheepishly.
"Tamaki...If you would like to kiss me. You can." Jeanie gently took the hand on Tamaki's cheek and Tamaki instinctively took the other.
"As you wish my princess" Tamaki smiled softly after a few moments of being dumbstruck. Leaning in he lightly touched Jeanie's lips with his in a chaste kiss.
That was it. Tamaki was head over heels in love from that moment.
"Boss? Hey boss where are you?" Hikaru's voice interrupted Tamaki's blissful daze.
"Come and meet my friends Princess?" He offered but Jeanie shook her head.
"Not yet. Let me watch them first...They are all coming here yes?"
"It sounds like they are." Tamaki listened as Hikaru's voice was joined by the others.
"Good. Well darling I will hide and you can bring them in here." Jeanie grinned and pecked Tamaki on the lips before disappearing.
"Tamaki! There you are! We were supposed to meet at the kiosk moron," Kyoya appeared at the enclosure entrance, followed by the twins, Haruhi, Honey and Mori.
"Sorry guys I got a little distracted." Tamaki bounded down towards them, "you're never going to believe this but I just met the most stunning creature in existence!"
"a Koala Tama chan?" Honey asked, tilting his head like a puppy dog.
"No no no...A girl...Jeanie..." Tamaki beamed, finally reaching the others.
"Where is this Jeanie?" Kyoya looked around for a girl.
"Well she's not exactly...All there." Tamaki tried to come up with a description, "but she's beautiful and smart and so charming..."
"Yeah not all there is right" Hikaru whispered loudly to Kaoru, "she's not there at all!"
"How dare you insult my Princess!" Tamaki pouted.
"Well it does seem she has disappeared Senpai. Besides that Kyoya bought the whole place out" Haruhi knitted her eyebrows.
"Oh...Never mind. I'm sure you'll meet her and then you'll understand" Tamaki mumbled moodily.
"I'm hungry" Honey whined.
"It's your nap time Mitsukuni" Mori corrected, "cake after your nap"
"we're bored let's go already" the twins chorused.
"Yes it is getting late. Let's head off" Kyoya checked his watch.
"well... Okay" Tamaki reluctantly looked at Jeanie's tree . He trailed behind the others and, as they left, he mouthed a goodbye over his shoulder. He was going to come back the next day and see Jeanie again. He just had to...
