From the Beginning
“The Old one took note of the strange being, but quickly dismissed it, for it knew that such a weak manifestation of the dark would never harm it.”
A blank canvas. When starting something from scratch, you use the tools in your possession or the skills you've honed through experience to start working on a masterpiece. Like a painter with their brush, a writer with their pencil, a warrior with their sword, a God with their thoughts... With their tools in their hands, they immediately start working on masterpieces that would last throughout the ages, but no matter the outcome, it always comes down to one thing, and one thing only. A blank canvas.
When the universe came into existence, it originated as a blank, dark canvas, and nothing more. Darkness eternal. Wherever there was a small trace of light, the darkness would snuff it out as quickly as it would appear, turning it into nothingness and leaving the universe utterly blank and dark. There were no lights, no stars. No planets, no galaxies. No suns and no comets. A blank, dark canvas, void of everything. So it would be, for time eternal, time immemorial.
But then a Great Light shone out amidst the ever-devouring dark canvas that consumed all, and no matter how much the darkness tried, it could not devour the light. From within this Great Light came a being most unexpected: an egg, vibrant with life and even greater light, but as soon as it was introduced to this new universe, where darkness reigned supreme, the Great Light from whence it came began to fade, until only the egg remained, letting the darkness wash over it without a second thought. As soon as the darkness burdened itself over the egg, however, it started to hatch, jostling slightly left and right at first before it started shaking violently, sending egg shells flying in every direction as the cracking resonated throughout the ever-expanding dark canvas. Great, powerful light flowed out from within the hatching egg until it finally birthed a being so great and powerful that it's presence alone allowed the light resonating from the remains of the egg to brighten immensely.
Birthed into it's universe, one embraced by dark, the Old one, as it would come to be known throughout the passage of time, breathed for the very first time in it's existence, and with each breath it took, the light would grow brighter and more powerful. It studied the waning darkness as the brightness of the light made made the once powerful essence recoil harshly from the Old one. After studying the recoiling darkness intently, it craned it's neck back and let loose a powerful roar that echoed throughout the blank universe, splitting the darkness as light shone out intensely. From within this light two Great Beings emerged, both of them as massive and powerful as the Old one. They studied their God for a second, knowing immediately their purpose in this realm of existence.
The first Great Being, a powerful monstrosity with a body embraced by a pearlescent sheen, stood proudly on it's hind legs as it looked over the brightening canvas. It let out a mighty roar as his God before him and immediately the essence of Space began to materialize, growing ever stronger with every breath it took. Stars began to originate in the once barren canvas, and with it, galaxies, planets, comets. But it remained stagnant, for without time, nothing would thrive, nothing would live.
The second Great Being, a monstrosity as powerful as the first, had a body embraced by diamonds and stood proudly on four powerful legs as it studied the beautiful universe before it. Finally, it took a deep breath, and the essence of time began to materialize when it's heart started beating. Suddenly, massive stars turned into bright suns, comets flew throughout the growing universe, galaxies began to spiral, planets began to materialize, black holes and white holes formed. The universe, once filled with darkness and nothing but, was now filled with space and time and would forever remain so.
Throughout all this, and unbeknownst to the two Great Beings, a third being, morphed by the great light that recoiled the otherwise impenetrable darkness and said darkness, hid deep within the universe. The Old one took note of the strange being, but soon dismissed it, for it knew that such a weak manifestation of the darkness it so easily dominated would never pose a threat to anything it created. A mistake worthy of a God.
The Old one and the two Great Beings looked on at their creation. The universe expanded before them, vibrant with space and time. Despite this, there was a problem. There was something missing. Something essential. Life. The Two Great Beings knew this, and they turned to the Old one, who nodded before letting out another mighty roar. From deep within the Great Light that split the universe arose three more beings, all of them dwarfed by the Old one and the two Great Beings.
The tiny pink being looked at the Old one and understood it's purpose. With it's help, the tiny pink being was able to find a planet worthy of life, and descended deep into it's crust where it would give birth to anything and everything that ever would be. The second being, as tiny as the first one, but a light shade of green instead of pink, looked on at the Great Being embraced by diamonds and understood it's purpose. It descended deep into the planet alongside the pink being and, in doing so, time was distributed, giving the beings birthed from the pink one age. The beings would grow, evolve, and live, as the Old one intended. The third tiny being, as small as the two before it, was white, with a star-shaped head that shone out brightly in the Great Light. It looked at the pearlescent Great One and understood it's purpose. It descended into the planet alongside the other two beings and would give the beings birthed from the first one help in their time of need. With their work done, the Old one dubbed the three tiny beings “The Fairies of Life”, and they would carry out their purpose for all eternity.
Despite the planet being flush with life now, the Old one and the two Great Beings noted another problem. The beings that were born on the planet seemed... Lifeless. Without purpose, without intelligence, without feeling. The Old one knelt forward, but instead of roaring to summon more beings as it did before, it began to hum. A single egg originated in front of it. The Two Great Beings looked on intently as the egg began to hatch, the Old one humming still. A bright flash of light, somehow brighter than the Great Light itself, shone out from the egg, and three tiny beings emerged from it's remains.
The Old one looked down at them as the three tiny beings looked up at it. A small connection sparked between the four, and they nodded in unison. They descended into the planet, one by one, and began to carry out their own purpose individually. The first tiny being flew over the land, and the beings below gained knowledge. The second tiny being flew after the fist and the beings gained emotion. Yet, despite having emotions and wondrous knowledge, the beings didn't have the need or desire to carry their ideas out. Then the third tiny being joined it's brethren in flight over the planet, and all at once the beings began to carry out their desires flawlessly. With their purpose done, the three beings descended into separate parts of the planet, where they would look after it's residents for all eternity. The Old one dubbed these tiny beings “The Fairies of Balance”, and, much like the Fairies of Life, would carry out their purpose for all eternity.
The Old one and the Two Great Beings looked on at the planet vibrant with life. They named the planet Earth, and would watch over it, along with the fairies, for all of eternity, for such was the duty of a God and it's equals: To watch over the lives of their creations, for their purpose was done. They have given them a beautiful canvas to work off of. To explore and improve upon. To see how far the beings before them would go, only time would tell, and they weren't dying anytime soon. The Old one roared and the Two Great Beings joined it. Their purpose fulfilled, they departed to their own realms of existence.
The Pearlescent being of Space tore open a rip in space and vanished, the Diamond being of Time following suit. The Old one remained where the Great Light shone out. Finding no trace of the darkness that dominated this once barren universe before or the weak manifestation of it. With a shake of it's head, the Great Light slowly vanished, until nothing but the universe in it's entirety remained. The Old one stood silently, enveloped by space as it looked on at the beautiful universe before it. With a final nod of it's head, it ventured deep into the universe and took up eternal slumber, where it would watch over it's creations in a silent slumber.
As the universe continued to expand whilst the Old one slumbered, time passed for Earth and the beings residing. The first beings that inhabited the land evolved endlessly through the course of time, eventually creating some horrendously powerful entities that wrought immense power. Entities that controlled weather, entities that created seasons. Entities that dominated the seas, entities that ruled the skies. Entities that shifted lands, entities that commanded oceans, and entities that demanded complete control. Entities that provided happiness, entities that wrought despair. Entities that sought truth, entities that seek ideals. Entities that brought life, and entities that delivered death... Throughout the standard course of time, these entities would become known as... Pokemon.
Earth had survived the passage of time, and would continue to do so for all eternity, as it's creator had intended. It would do so, however, under different names, as original knowledge is always lost throughout time. What was originally dubbed Earth, the great planet that housed the only life in the known universe, was now known as Verograndia, and had been for the past several thousand years. Yes, it had been named after the Great God King Veron and his wife, the Black Witch Grandia, who had united the entire world together to stop an unspeakable destruction that threatened the very ends of the universe. Since then, the two founded a great Kingdom that would dominate the world and keep tranquil peace for ages to come.
Time erodes everything, however, and the Great God King foresaw this. With help from an immanently noble being, he established an epic monument that could not be eroded by time, to ensure that his Kingdom and his way of Law would last throughout the ages. On the monument, forever engraved, were writings that established the laws of the New World Order that his Kingdom would ultimately follow, never to falter, never to waver, and because of this, the Kingdom of the Great God King Veron was able to stand the test of time. Countless kingdoms rose and fell around Veron's, his always remaining on the spot, seeing them run their course time and time again. And so it would remain that way for countless centuries to come, his Kingdom setting the standard for all other kingdoms.
Present Day. The Kingdom founded by the Great God King shares the rest of the world with five other kingdoms. The new system was recently introduced within the past hundred years and ensured that peace was distributed equally throughout Verograndia, for a single Kingdom could only protect so much. Despite this, Oolacille, the Kingdom founded by the Great God King that stood the test of time would always reign supreme over all others, without exception. This seemed to bother no one, however, as every Kingdom held power over their own respective lands.
So the world would be protected by six powerful Kingdoms, none of them more so than Oolacille itself, and it would remain that way for countless decades to come, and then countless more. This does not mean that they wouldn't encounter problems and struggles along the way, many of which would be connected to one thing and one thing only: The rise and fall of the Dark Prince...
