A/N- Ciel is fourteen in this story to avoid it being pedophilia. I will mention this properly in the second part.
Ciel Phantomhive raced from the boat the moment his feet touched the ground, desperate to find out why London was burning. As he ran, he soon found that he was barely glancing left or right, his feet leading him deep into the city, like he was being drawn to a certain spot without quite knowing why. After a few moments, he slowed to catch his breath, finally noting what was happening all around him. There were people everywhere, fleeing from burning buildings, and even more lying dead. Trampled, or suffocated, it was hard to tell. A few may have even been outright murdered, deliberately or accidentally, by being shoved aside too hard in someone's haste. Ciel stopped trying to count the ways that each body could have died, and simply focused on not stepping on any, but soon found that it was almost unavoidable that he would.Pausing for a moment, he heard a sharp cracking sound. As he turned towards the sound, something hit his middle hard, and he found himself on his back on the ground just as a large slab of stone from the top of the building landed right where he had been standing.“Hey, watch where you are go-.” The woman who had saved him broke off, blinking. “Master Ciel! Forgive me! What are you doing here?”He suddenly realized that the woman was Mey-Rin, the Phantomhive manor's maid. He'd been so focus on how narrowly he'd avoided death that he'd barely glanced at his savior. Ignoring her pleas of forgiveness, he glanced around for Sebastian, certain that the demon butler was responsible for Mey-Rin's timely arrival, but the man was no where to be seen.“Mey-Rin, calm yourself.” He gently admonished her, not angry in the least with her for being shoved aside. “What is happening here?”Hesitating, Mey-Rin started rubbing the lenses of her over-sized glasses- a gesture he recognized as being a nervous habit of hers.“Well... the thing is... Its Pluto.”“Pluto?” Ciel's mind was blank for a moment- surely she could not mean his pet Hell-hound? Not that Pluto, but a different one?“Earlier today he started going crazy... we chased him to London, but he won't listen to us anymore. He's burning...” She broke off and gestured all around her. “Its like he's being controlled by an outside force.”“Take me to him. You do know his current location?”“Y-yes. But Young Master! Its not safe there! And where is Sebastian?” She asked almost as an afterthought, as if she'd only just noticed that Ciel was alone. Which, knowing Mey-Rin, was all too likely, she was very absent minded and did not always notice what was going on around her. Even her obvious crush on Sebastian didn't mean that she always knew when he was present or not.“He's... I actually do not know where Sebastian is right now.” He confessed softly, so that Mey-Rin would not hear him. Thankfully, she did not press the point.“Well, we need to get you to safety!” She tried to grab his arm and physically tug Ciel away from the, heart of the city, where Pluto was, but he dug in his heels and stood his ground.“No. Take me to Pluto!”“But... Young Master...”“This is not a request, Mey-Rin. I order you to take me to Pluto!” He spoke forcefully, but with an almost apologetic tone to his voice. He understood why she wanted him safe, but there was no time for that. The Undertaker had told him that he would die that day, and he needed to know what Pluto was doing.“Please, Mey-Rin.” He added, his voice gentler than she was used to, when she hesitated.“Alright, I'll take you to Pluto.” She gave in, not to the order, but to him saying 'please'.Turning, she led him back the way she had come. The road turned several times, and twice they had to backtrack to detour around road blocks that had not been there when she'd passed this way minutes ago.Ciel heard Pluto's cry before he saw the hound, and he noticed the intense anguish in his voice. Steeling his nerves, already knowing what order he would have to give, he put on an extra burst of speed as the building Pluto was standing on the roof of came into sight.Mouth open, Pluto unleashed a continuous jet of flame, burning everything he could see. But there was no life left in those black eyes, just pain and... insanity. Something had driven Pluto to this, and it had also driven him mad. Whatever it was that had made the Hell-hound Pluto was gone, and all that was left was the shell of a dumb beast. It was only after that realization set in that he spotted Finny and Baldroy. Baldroy was saying something about being out of tranquilizer darts, and both were chastising Mey-Rin for leading him there, but Ciel barely heard any of it. He took a few more steps toward the men, then he stopped.“Baldroy, you have real bullets?” Though he phrased it as a question, he had no doubt that the war veteran did.“Yes, but Young Master! Its Pluto...”“Take a good look at him. That's not Pluto, not anymore. What made him the Pluto we knew and loved is already gone, driven away by pain and insanity. All that's left is his physical shell... Kill him! End this, and end his suffering.”To Ciel's surprise, it was not Baldroy but Finny who protested, talking about how he was happy at the Phantomhive manor, and that it just wasn't home without Pluto.“Finny, Pluto is already gone! I'm sorry, that you must kill his body, but his soul is no longer there! This is an order; kill Pluto!” A single tear trailed unnoticed down Ciel's cheek as he gave the order, the order that he'd known he'd have to give. The one order that none of the servants would ever forgive him for. Not that it mattered, since he'd been dead before the sun rose again.“But Ciel!” Finny tried to protest again, barely aware that he was using Ciel's first name rather than calling him Young Master.“Finny, come here for a moment.” The gardener's use of his first name stirred up a memory that Ciel had almost forgotten. As he walked away, towards a nearby deserted alleyway, his mind revisited a time several weeks earlier. It was early evening, around the time that Sebastian normally ran him his evening bath. But something had come up, an unexpected twist with something that the Queen had asked him to investigate, and he'd had to order Sebastian to look into it. Baldroy had been busy with the after dinner dishes, Tanaka was unable to help, and with Mey-Rin being a woman, it would not have been proper for her to aid him, so Finny had drawn the task of helping with his bath instead of Sebastian.
The teen had drawn the water a shade too hot, but not so much so that Ciel felt it worth mentioning. As he settled in, Finny laid out the towels, and handed him the soap. Ciel usually washed his own body, only needing help with his back, so he simply talked to Finny about how he was doing with his duties. When he was ready, he motioned for the boy to come closer and wash his back, and he noticed that Finny's hands were shaking slightly. Finny had been acting nervous since being asked to help with Ciel's bath, but Ciel had dismissed it, figuring he was simply scared of messing up. But had that been the case his nervous tension should have eased, but instead it seemed to be increasing.“Finny?” Ciel half turned so that he could see the boys face, but Finny would not meet his eye.“Yes?”“Why are you nervous?”“I-I'm not nervous...” Finny replied, after jumping at the directness of the question, and dropping the soap in the tub. As he reached in to retrieve the bar, his fingers brushed against the bare skin of Ciel's thigh, and he hesitated.Ciel shifted again, unconsciously reacting to the tension, and Finny's hand slid up his leg to brush against something more intimate, a part of him that no one else had ever touched, not even Sebastian. Whether the movement was deliberate or accidental, Ciel never found out. Finny never said, and Ciel had never asked.Realizing where his hand was, Finny gasped and jerked it back like the touch of Ciel's body had physically burned him, his cheeks flaring scarlet.“Forgive me!” He stumbled backwards away from the tub... and straight into Sebastian. The butler said nothing, he just caught Finny's shoulders lightly in his hands, and dismissed him.Ciel retrieved the soap to finish cleaning himself, then rinsed his body off, avoiding the question in Sebastian's eyes. It was not until he stood, and a towel was draped around his shoulders, that Sebastian broke the silence.“What happened between you and Finnian?” Ciel started at the sound of Finny's full name, his cheeks heating slightly.“That was... uh...” He stumbled, unable to even explain to himself what had happened.Sebastian nodded, understanding more in Ciel's reaction to his question than in his verbal reply.“Did he touch you intimately?” Sebastian had seen Finny drop the soap and reach into the tub to get it, as well as both their reactions, but he had not been able to see what the blond youth had done after his hand was submerged.Ciel's blush deepened as he nodded. “Yes, but I think it was an accident...” He trailed off, uncertain if that was the truth or not. Instead of amending his statement, he focused on drying himself off, then lifted his arms so that Sebastian could pull his nightshirt over him.“Was Finny behaving normally?” Sebastian asked calmly, already knowing the answer.“No, he was acting nervous the entire time.” Ciel replied slowly, uncertain where Sebastian was going with his questions.“I see, I thought that might be the case.” The butler did up the buttons, then stepped back so that Ciel could move past him into his bedroom.“Why was he so nervous, Sebastian? Did you threaten him if he didn't do a satisfactory job?”“No, he was nervous for another reason entirely. You are growing into a very attractive young man, Ciel, and I believe Finny has been noticing that.” Sebastian answered, careful to simply state fact and not his own opinion.“What do you mean?” Ciel was more confused than before.“Quiet often lately, Finny has become more distracted than normal when your near him, and he's been sending you lingering glances when your not looking. The kind of glances a young man normally sends to women, not to other men. I believe that they indicate that he's becoming interested in you sexually.”Ciel's eyes widened as he finally realized what Sebastian was saying. Blushing harder, he was stunned into silence, sex being a subject that had only begun to interest him a few months earlier.“What should I do?” He eventually asked, knowing he needed to say something, but unsure what Sebastian wanted him to say.“Do you like Finny?”Ciel started at the surprising question. “He's a boy! Why would I like him?” He protested wildly.“What you should do depends on whether or not you like him the same way he likes you. If you do, then tell him and see what happens. If not, then maybe it would be best for you to act as though he never crossed the line with you.” Sebastian pulled the covers back and helped Ciel into bed as he spoke.“Your not going to judge me if I do pursue something with Finny? Or another man entirely? I am engaged to Elizabeth, she is the only one I should be thinking about in that way.” Ciel was not quite able to meet Sebastian's eyes as he asked.“No. I have lain with both men and women; as I am a demon I do not care what gender my partner's are. I am in no position to judge your decisions in this matter, and matters of the heart are rarely the way we wish them to be. But I am here to offer advice should you need it.” Sebastian brushed the hair out of Ciel's eyes, the gesture tender but more fatherly than sexual. “I know that I am no replacement for your father, and that you do not need me to be, but maturing sexually is always a very confusing time and I am here whenever you need to talk about anything.”“Sebastian... Thank you.” Ciel hugged his butler impulsively, relieved that he was being so understanding. Despite Sebastian's demon nature rendering him incapable of human emotion, Ciel knew that Sebastian was speaking sincerely. Pulling away, he lay down to sleep as Sebastian covered him with the blankets and left the room. The memory flashed through Ciel's mind in the few seconds it took to get to the alley. Once they were hidden from sight by the shadows, Ciel turned towards Finny. “I-I need to know something. Do you remember the time you aided me in bathing?”
Uncertain what to expect, Finny jumped and blushed darkly when Ciel brought that up. “Your not still mad at me that I touched you like that? Are you?” 'And why are you bringing this up now?' Finny left the last question unspoken, certain that Ciel would be answering that whether it was spoken aloud or not.“Finny, I was never mad about that. Only... confused.” Ciel stepped closer to the older boy as he spoke.“Confused? Ciel... what are you saying?” Finny reached towards Ciel uncertainly, but let his hand drop again before he touched the younger male.Opening and closing his mouth several times, Ciel was unable to put into words how he felt, what he wanted to say, so he decided to answer Finny's question through action rather than spoken words. Moving closer still, he reached up and gripped the older boy's shoulders and neck, pulling him down until their lips touched. At first, Finny was beyond surprised by the kiss, but passion quickly overrode all other emotion and, being exceptionally careful of his strength, he lifted Ciel's smaller body firmly into his arms. Spinning them around he then gently pressed Ciel's back gently against the wall behind them, as the young Earl instinctively wrapped his legs around Finny's waist. The kiss deepened without either of them being consciously aware of them- neither knew who opened their mouth first, or when their tongues first touched. They only knew that they both needed this, and even the fact that the kisses tasted salty from the tears they were both shedding over Pluto's death was not enough to break them apart. But what tears could not do, the need for fresh oxygen did, and they eventually had to end the kiss to gulp down mouthfuls of the smoky air. As both boys panted, Ciel shifted his weight lower, eager to feel if Finny's body had reacted the same way to the kiss as his own. He had, and Ciel clumsily shifted so that his ass rubbed against the bulge in Finny's pants, his own erection trapped between their bodies so that Finny undoubtedly felt it press against his stomach. Then his motion stopped, as he was suddenly fighting for control of himself, as everything that had happened to him the past few days caught up with him. The few tears he had shed over Pluto proved to be only the beginning of a flood- and he realized that what he was doing was not starting a new relationship with Finny. He was trying to say goodbye.“Ciel... what's wrong?” The blond's hand wiped tears off the young Earl's cheeks, but that only made them flow faster, and Ciel made no effort to speak. Resting Ciel's head on his shoulder, making sure that the younger boy was facing away from where the others were waiting for them, Finny's arms tightened around his body, holding him securely.“I-its OK, its OK, just- Why are you crying?” Finny was honestly flabbergasted. “Am I that bad of a kisser?” He joked to try and get Ciel to stop, but the brunette only shook his head, unable to speak, and Finny's arms pulled him even closer to his body. His arousal now gone, Finny's only concern was to get Ciel to stop crying, and he was willing to just holding the younger boy until the tears stopped.Unknown to either of them, they were not alone. Sebastian stood on the top of the building opposite the one Finny had Ciel pinned to, watching them. Something in him longed to go down and comfort Ciel, since he knew that his leaving his young master was partially why Ciel was sobbing. However, he knew that Ciel must choose to renew the contract it, or break it entirely, all on his own, and Sebastian's concern was not strong enough to override that fact. He also knew that Ciel was not expecting to live long enough to see the sun rise again.“If you join with me I will ensure that he survives the night.” Sebastian did not hear the angel approach, but was not startled to hear him speak so suddenly.“I did not know that you have power over such matters.” Sebastian replied calmly, as though he did not care whether Ciel lived or died. “He was my master, and that is all.”Ash placed a hand on Sebastian's shoulder, trying to turn the demon towards him. “We could forge a new world, one where purity is valued above all else and in which angels and demons will rule together as equals.” Ash trailed his hand seductively down the demon's chest, but Sebastian pretended not to notice the gesture.“Such a world is impossible. Aren't demons, by their very nature, impure?” Turning away from the angel, Sebastian watched as Baldroy and Mey-Rin entered the alley to see what was keeping Finny.Hearing the approaching footsteps, Finny tried to set Ciel down, but the boy only clung to him tighter. “Ciel...” He shot a worried glance down the alley.“Let them see us like this... it doesn't matter if they know.” Ciel's voice was thick from crying, but his tears had stopped.“You... why were you crying? You never said...”Ciel kissed Finny again, to silence him, just as the other servants rounded the corner. Dropping his voice so only Finny could hear, he whispered; “Because I was told by a grim reaper that I will die tonight. If I somehow survive, it will be a miracle. Finny... this is goodbye.” He loosened his legs enough to let the older boy lower him back to his feet.“Don't say that! Ciel... We will see each other again! I know we will!” Finny cried, heedless of who else could hear him.“I hope your right, for our sake.” Ciel did not want to promise anything at that point, but if he did survive, he planned on properly pursuing a romantic relationship with Finny. Then he took off down the alley before anyone could say anything in response to his statement. After a few moments of stunned silence, Baldroy's mouth broke into a wide grin. “So... you and Ciel are an item? Since when? Have you-?” He broke off laughing as Finny blushed darkly.“Baldo! Its not... I mean, we haven't! Stop laughing, its not funny!” Embarrassed, Finny stammered weak protests as they headed back to where Pluto was still burning the city. Then all emotion fled as they remembered Ciel's last order, smiled slipped from their faces, and it was with numb hands that real bullets were loaded into the rifles, and a boulder was hefted high.Ciel was more than a block away when he heard the first shot fired, and he quickened his pace, intent on not hearing the rest. A few stray tears traced their way down his cheeks as his servants killed his beloved pet- but he repeated to himself that it was necessary, that the Pluto they had known and loved was already gone. It was only an empty shell that they killed, nothing more. But part of him did not quite believe it- like Finny, he wanted to hope that things could return to the way they were before. But Ciel Phantomhive knew better than most that they never did.
As he ran towards Buckingham Palace, he thought he saw a shadow move as though following him, but when he turned his head to look nothing was there. Shaking his head to clear his mind of any more foolish fantasy's, he failed to notice the shadow return as Sebastian carefully resumed following him at a more discrete distance.Sebastian watched as Ciel entered the frozen palace, knowing before Ciel did that Ash had frozen time to try and frame the young Earl for Queen Victoria's death. Never expecting Ciel to call upon him, he was surprised when, after being shot by the royal guards, Ciel's blood formed the pentagram that had bond them, thus renewing the contract. But that's not to say he wasn't pleased. He was, and it was with a light heart that he lifted Ciel into his arms and sped him away to find the Angel of Massacre.A/N 2- And thats as far as I've gotten so far watching the show. Too many other good book/anime/tv series out there that it can be hard to find the time to watch Black Butler (plus I've been working night shift which doesn't work well with watching anime in Japanese with English subtitles.) I will much appreciate any feedback you may have for me!While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
