CHAPTER ONEThings didn’t go the way they were supposed to. The Ronin Warriors were supposed to overcome the forces of evil and destroy Talpa, thus restoring life to the city of Toyama.
If only they had known.Talpa had scattered the five warriors away from each other. White Blaze and the Ancient One led Mia and Yuli to the volcano where they found Ryo. Rather than send his warlords after them, Talpa had Badamon possess Mia’s grandfather and find out where the other four were. Badamon left his dying body behind once he had the information he sought. The four of them and White Blaze got to him in time before he passed on. He told them of the poem. Of the location of the other armor bearers. The four warlords had split up and retrieved the four unconscious ronins. That had been the turning point of the war between the ronins and warlords. In their unconscious states, the ronins had been weak. The combined power of Dais’ armor and Badamon had bent their minds to the forces of evil. They embraced the darkness and allowed it to consume them.If only it had ended there. While melding the minds of his newest warriors, Talpa sent the other four after his last warrior. With the combined efforts of Ryo and his armor and the Ancient One, they sent the warlords back empty-handed. Realizing what had happened to the four other ronins, the Ancient One sent Ryo and White Blaze into hiding with Mia and Yuli. The next month, Talpa plotted with Badamon. Unknown to the demon and spirit, the warlords had been plotting, too. After discovering Ryo’s location, Talpa called his warlords to him. He ordered them to bring the last warrior and last armor. Before departing, the warlords left behind an undetectable, odorless poison that killed both Talpa and Badamon within seconds. There was no warning. He was in town getting groceries when a frantic call from Mia came to his cell phone. The warlords were there. The Ancient One and White Blaze were holding them off, but Ryo needed to get back.Ryo damn near broke the sound barrier in the jeep getting back to the house. It was a wonder how he hadn’t gotten pulled over by a cop. He got to the house in time to see Mia and Yuli thrown into a nearby lake and the water frozen over them. Ryo had tried to run to them, but Sage and Cale had caught his arms and held him back.Seeing them struggle under the water and eventually disappear from sight set Ryo off. He had unknowingly siphoned off power from the other eight armors. His body let loose a large white glow and threw the two warlords off him. When the light died down, Ryo stood in a mysterious white armor. At that point, Ryo unleashed an unparalleled amount of power and sent the warlords flying back to the Nether Realm. The Ancient One, weakened from battle, helped him break the ice and retrieve the bodies. Not wanting to give up, Ryo called his armor away and started giving Mia CPR. Ryo nearly wept in relief when Mia started coughing up water. However, when he turned around, Yuli’s body lay still on the ground and the Ancient One was shaking his head sadly. That time, he had wept. He had cried even harder when he discovered the still body of his large feline friend.Shortly after that, the Ancient One relocated Mia and went into hiding with her. With a heavy heart, Ryo had separated from them and gone on the run. He constantly moved around, in and between the two realms, to avoid being caught by the warlords. That was over a year ago./……/
The woman cried as the hand tightened around her throat. A dark pair of blue eyes bore into her as their owner leaned in close.
“Where?” he growled. She whimpered pitifully and shook her head.“I-I…I don’t kn-n-n-ow,” she stuttered. He squeezed, causing her to cry out. A noise came from behind him and another warrior appeared from the shadows.[Step back, Cale.]The scarred warlord glanced over his shoulder and cocked an eyebrow at him. Sage flashed him a smirk with a small wink. The woman gasped as the dark-haired warrior suddenly disappeared and her body fell forward. The light-haired warrior caught her lightly in his arms.“Did he hurt you?” Sage whispered. The woman shook her head. The blonde held her face in a gentle hand, running his thumb over her cheek.“What’s your name?” Sage asked.“C-C-Celeste,” she murmured. She still shook a little. She couldn’t see the other warrior anywhere in the room, but she could still feel his dark grip on her throat. Celeste gasped as Sage stepped closer to her and dropped his head down to nuzzle her neck. Slowly, the fear seeped from her body.“Shh. Don’t worry about him, Celeste. He won’t touch you again,” he told her in a comforting tone of voice. She shivered when he placed a few soft kisses on her neck. Her mind began to fog as his body pressed against hers.“I understand you had a few visitors here last night. I’m hoping one of my…friends was among them. My friend’s close to my height and has dark hair. His name is Ryo,” Sage said.Celeste struggled to collect her thoughts. She remembered. He had come in early that evening, before the dinner rush. His eyes had been a soft blue. And he had been very sweet.“Yes. Y-yes. He stayed here. He…um…he left a few hours ago,” Celeste confessed.Sage hid a smirk in her neck. So the mortal had jumped from the Mortal to Nether Realm. Perfect.“Do you know where…where he’s gone?” Sage asked, softly.Celeste had to really think on that. He hadn’t been the only one to leave a few hours ago. There was one who traveled south with a group. And he? He had gone…“North. He headed….N-North out of town,” Celeste answered. She gasped when a warm hand came up under her dress. It flitted across her inner thigh and gently spread her legs apart. A firm thumb started to rub her firmly through a thin pair of undergarments. She failed to notice that the light warrior leaning into her showed no reaction to what he was doing to her.“Was he alone? Or was someone with him?” Sage inquired.“Alone. He was *gasp* a-alone.” She paused to catch her breath. “He was heading for the next town. Said he would be there a couple of days.”Sage chuckled as he brought his mouth to her ear.“Thank you, Celeste. You’ve been most helpful.”With a sudden flash, blood sprayed across his face and Celeste’s body dropped to the ground; her scream of surprise caught in her throat. Sage stepped back to admire his work. He stuck out his tongue to lick at some blood on his lower lip. He turned his head when a hard body pressed up against his back.“I’d almost forgotten how much you like to play with your ‘food,’” Cale murmured, wrapping an arm around his waist to cup him through his pants.Sage threw his head back with a groan. Cale dropped his head down to lap at the blood trail on his neck. The rough hand rubbed his package expertly, showing just how well he knew the other man.“I learned from the best,” Sage chuckled, before turning around and catching his mouth with his own. Both men moaned as their tongues fought for dominance. After a short time, the shorter warrior gave up and allowed his lover to draw him close. The taller warrior eased off him with a small chuckle.“The others will want to hear what we’ve discovered,” Cale told him.“What makes you think they’re not doing the very same thing we are?” Sage whispered, in a husky voice.Cale leaned down to bite at the blonde’s neck. Sage let out an appreciative groan and let his hands begin to wander. His dark lover caught his hands in his and released his neck.“That may be true, but we have a lead on Wildfire’s whereabouts,” Cale reminded him.Sage thrust forward to grind his hips against Cale’s, thus earning him a loud growl.“We know where he’s heading. It’s all the more reason for us to celebrate,” Sage hissed.Suddenly, his body was lifted from the ground and his back slammed into the wall. His hands flew up to the dark strands of his lover as he grinded up into him.“You have a valid point, my love. Refresh my memory. When was the last time my cock was in your sweet ass?”Sage chuckled. He leaned his head down to bite at Cale’s ear before hissing, “Last night.”Sage let loose a howl when his body was pulled down and his lover pressed right up against his entrance. Cale had banished their clothes and now his thick, hot length was threatening to split him open.“It’s been too long, then.”/……/
Unbeknownst to the two lovers, the bearer of the Wildfire armor was traveling in the convoy heading south. The deceased woman had mixed his identity with the other man that had left traveling north. Ryo had thought of traveling alone on horse, but knew he could be spotted more easily that way.
He traveled in the middle of the convoy with his hood drawn up. His gaze fell forward on a small child that was walking with his mother. He smiled sadly.Fourteen months later and it still hurt to think of how he had failed Yuli. And failed White Blaze. Were it not for Mia and the Ancient One, Ryo would have been truly alone in the world. He knew his will to fight would not have lasted long against the dark warlords.Ryo glanced down at a bracelet around his left wrist. It was a simple bracelet. It was a thin leather bracelet with a metal button closure. On the button was a Japanese kanji. The bracelet, however simple it may seem, was anything but. Unless the person knew of its presence, they wouldn’t see it.Currently, only Ryo could see it. He hadn’t even told Mia or the Ancient One. He knew who had given it to him and why, but he wasn’t about to share that piece of information with anyone.Looking up, Ryo saw a dynasty gate off to the east. He would be able to reach it in no time if he rode the horse out to it.“Is this where you shall part from us?”Ryo turned his head. The leader of the group had come down to the end of the convoy and rode back up. He was currently riding beside Ryo with an inquisitive look on his face. In response to the question, Ryo nodded.“Yes. May I borrow your horse a little longer?” Ryo asked. The man nodded.“Of course. After you reach the gate, you may set him loose. He will find his way back to us,” the man told him.“Thank you,” Ryo said, holding his hand out.The man grasped his hand with a smile and shook it. After letting go, Ryo turned the horse east and clicked his tongue. The horse shifted through the other members of the convoy before picking up it pace.Once out of sight of the convoy, Ryo dug his heels in and directed the horse into a full out canter. Once the horse started out running smoothly, Ryo was flowing along with him instead of bouncing up and down. At the two came up on the gate, Ryo slowed the horse down and stopped him entirely when they were a few feet away from it.Ryo climbed down off the horse and patted him on the neck as he retrieved his bag. He swung the backpack over one shoulder. Ryo took the bit out of its mouth and halter off its face. He laid it over the saddle. This way, the horse wouldn’t have trouble running back to his group.“Good boy,” Ryo said, before placing a soft kiss on the horse’s neck.Ryo stepped away and was surprised when the horse butted his head against him. Ryo laughed as he reached into his backpack.“Yes, yes. I haven’t forgotten.”He pulled from his backpack a nice, bright orange carrot. The horse immediately started munching down the carrot until there was nothing left. Ryo whispered another thank you before patting the horse and sending him off to join the convoy.Ryo turned back to the gate and walked up to it until he stood in front of its massive size. Putting his hand on the gate, he closed his eyes and thought of where he wanted to go. He opened his eyes when the gate slowly started opening. Not wanting to stand long in the open doorway, Ryo disappeared through to the Mortal Realm and closed the gate behind him.END OF CHAPTER ONEWhile AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
