The Dare

When she opens her eyes, she finds herself lying on the bed with everything around her white. She moans softly, holding her head. Where is she right now?

“Candy, you’ve awaken?”

She looks at the person in blur before everything comes back to her. She looks for him but finds him looking outside the window, not even looking at her. She closes her eyes, trying to hold her tears, ignoring the pain from her stomach.

“How do you feel now?” Ximen asks.

“Why you didn’t tell us you’re pregnant?” Mei Zhuo asks.

Candy looks at them with her eyes open wide. Her trembling hands touch her tummy.

“I… I’m pregnant?” she chocks out.

“You mean… you don’t know?” Jing asks her and she shakes her head in return.

“Do you want us to call the father of your baby?” Xiao You asks.

Candy looks at Lei with her wet eyes, hoping that he will say something but he ignores her. She bites her lower lip, holding her tears desperately.

“He doesn’t care,” she says slowly.

“WHAT?!? Who dares playing your heart?” Dao Ming Si roars but Mei Zhuo and Ximen manage to hold him down.

“When can I get discharge?” Candy asks, wanting to change the topic.

“Your body is still weak. Better you stay here for few days,” Shan Cai says with Xiao You nods with her.

“I want to see the doctor,” Candy demand, running her eyes from looking at any of them.

They except for Lei look at each other before Ximen steps forward and push a button on the wall near the bed. Few minutes later a doctor comes in with two nurses.

“I want to talk with him alone,” Candy says and slowly the others begin to walk out from the room.

Her eyes watch sadly as Jing walks hand in hand with Lei. Her heart is bleeding but she knows she is nothing in his eyes. She closes her eyes before opens them back and looks at the doctor.

“Doctor, I want you to tell me everything,” she says.

“Miss Wong, your pregnancy was almost reached the third month but we couldn’t save him because you already miscarriage when they sent you here,” the doctor explains.

Candy rubs her tummy a bit before looks at the doctor.

“Have you told my parents yet?” she asks.

“Not yet, Miss Wong. Mr. Hua said he will call your parents,” the doctor shakes his head.

“He said that?” Candy asks in puzzle before something hit her mind.

Lei will never tell this to her parents. He will not want the others to know about their relationship, about her being his sex toy. He will rather being ignorance toward her health and welfare than been answering all the questions from her parents.

“Miss Wong, is there anything you want me to do?” the doctor asks when she doesn’t speak for few minutes.

She looks at him and sighs.

“I want to discharge now and I don’t care whatever you want to say,” she says seriously.

“But…”

“I said I don’t care what the hell you want to say or I will run away from here,” she screams, glaring at the doctor and slowly the doctor nods his head even though he doesn’t want to discharge her yet.

“Good. Prepare the receipt and I will go pay it once I’m ready,” Candy orders and slowly the doctor and the nurses walk out from her room.

She sighs again, throwing her gaze to the window. Her hand gently reaches her tummy and strokes it gently.

“You are lucky to die, or you will have no father,” she murmurs as her eyes closing slowly, holding her tears desperately.

He sits on the couch, throwing his sight to the empty wall. He is shocked. How can this happen? He thought she eats pills or something with her wild lifestyle. Is it his?

“Young master, do you want some drink?” the butler asks politely but he simply ignores the older man.

The butler bows a bit even though he knows that Lei will never notice it. Slowly he walks back to the kitchen to have some tea with the other maids.

He sighs again. His mind is blank. What shall he do now? Obviously the baby belongs to him. She never with other men. He is sure of that.

His sight turn to the door, only to see her walking slowly. He quickly gets up to go to her but she ignores him. She goes to the elevator and goes up to her stairs.

“What the…” he mutters and quickly follows her even though his heart is burning to see her treating him like this.

She is taking off her blouse and bra when he gets into her room. She doesn’t say a word, just reaching a pink camisole and wears it.

“Are you going to ignore me?” he asks when she is about to push down the skirt she is wearing.

She doesn’t say a word. She reaches another skirt and wears it before lies on the bed.

He quickly stands next to the bed, facing her. She turns around, backing him.

“I’m talking with you right now, dammit,” he mutters furiously and without thinking he pulls her to look back at him.

His eyes widen to see tears wetting her eyes. She quickly brushes them off and turns back backing him.

“Why are you crying?” he asks, lowering down his tone.

“Why am I crying? Because of you I have to face this humiliation. Why I have to follow every word you said when you never think about me? You have a girlfriend already so leave me alone. Let me have my own life,” she mutters furiously even though tears were still rolling from her eyes.

“What’s with Jing that related to this problem?” Lei asks in puzzle.

“She is relating to every single thing. Outside, they think of you are like a gentleman, so nice, so perfect. They don’t know your true colour. Even your lovely Jing also doesn’t know who you really are. Why you must show me your true self? You don’t even love me. Why Lei? Why?” she cries.

He is taken by. He himself doesn’t know the reason why he treats her like this. It’s like she belongs to him alone and nobody else can touch her except for him. He even told her parents about her activity and suggested to them to change her to study in Ying De, just because he cannot stand to see her so free with other men while he just can see her, not touch her.

“This is not my home. Why I must live here?” she cries more.

He looks at her. He doesn’t know how to explain to her that it was his idea too. His mom informed him about her had to study in Taiwan alone so he said he doesn’t mind with her living with him in this big mansion. He thought that she was just a secondary school girl. He never thought that she’s already studying in the college, just like him.

Unconsciously he lies himself next to her. His arms slowly wrap around her waist and touch her stomach. He doesn’t say a word, just listening to her weep and scolding himself silently for hurting her so badly. Why is his heart in pain too? He doesn’t even understand himself anymore.
