The foursome stared at the now broken bracelet. Kyo waited for the change into the cat’s hideous form, but it never came. Tohru knelt now and picked up the beads. She looked up at the cat and swallowed.
“I’m so sorry! Not only am I bad luck for people, I broke your beads!” Tohru pocked the black and white orbs since she didn’t know what else to do.
“No, it’s not your fault.” Kyo reasoned.
“But it is!” Tohru leaned up close to him, trying to make him understand. Kyo grabbed her by the shoulders and steered the frantic riceball away from Haru and Rin. They stood against the wall and Kyo pulled Tohru into a tight hug.
“Listen to me. Nothing is your fault. You haven’t done anything wrong.”
Tohru sighed, “Okay.” She answered, wrapping her arms around him in return.
“Um… Did anyone else get woken up last night?” Kagura asked Haru and Rin.
“Yeah…Yuki offed himself.” Rin glanced at Haru out the corner of her eye. The ox clinched his jaw, taking deep breaths.
Kagura covered her mouth with her hands in horror, “Why would he do something like that?”
“I think Kyo knows, you should go ask him.” Rin answered.
“Is he here?” Kagura’s eyes lit up.
“Yeah, he went around that way not too long ago. If you hurry, you could probably catch him.” Rin pointed to the building the cat and riceball disappeared behind.
“Thank you.” The boar walked off.
“Why do you make trouble for people?” Haru asked.
“It gives me something to do.” The horse answered. “I’m going to get breakfast, you want to come along?” The ox nodded and followed her.
Kagura stared in shock as she watched Kyo, the one she loved, hold Tohru. The cat whispered something to the girl in his arms and laid a kiss on her lips and went back to just holding the riceball. The boar walked over in very controlled movements and put a hand o Kyo’s shoulder. The cat jumped like he’d been bitten and turned towards the irate girl.
“Kyo, my love, what’s going on?” She asked sweetly.
“Um…” was all Kyo got out before Kagura slugged him. She them proceeded to beat the living crap out of the cat for the better part of fifteen minutes. When he lay unconscious on the ground, the boar turned her attentions to the riceball who now stood frozen like a statue, wide eyes staring at Kagura.
“Tohru, I need to speak to you.” She linked her arm with the terrified riceball. The girls’ walked a little ways away from Kyo.
“Do you love Kyo?” Kagura asked Tohru.
Tohru turned several shades of red. Did she love him? “Yes. I love Kyo very much.”
Kagura sighed looking at the ground. The boar looked back up with tears in her eyes. She hugged the riceball. “I’m not mad at you. I just didn’t want to give up on him yet. If I have to give Kyo up, I’m glad it’s to you. Take care of him.” She hugged Tohru tighter. “It’s just, the fact that Yuki’s dead and now Kyo… It’s too much.” Kagura cried.
“I’m so sorry. I never wanted to hurt anyone.” Tohru cried along with her.
“I know… you’d never do anything to hurt someone.”
Kyo groaned as he woke up bloodied and bruised. His eyes focused on the girls hugging and crying. And for a moment, the cat was perplexed. He realized that there where several things about girls he’d never understand.
“Um…” Kyo desperately searched for what to say. Both girls looked at him at the same time. Kagura smiled and walked to him.
She lightly took his hand. “It’s okay with me. But if you make Tohru cry, I’ll have to hurt you.” With that she let him go and, give Tohru one more quick hug, left to go find the other former members of the Zodiac.
“Kyo… um…” Tohru looked down at her hands. She closed her eyes tight. “I love you.” She said quickly before she lost her nerve. The riceball kept her eyes closed with her hands balled into fists held in front of her chest. Kyo was stunned by her forwardness, but the fact that Tohru looked as though she wanted to curl in on herself was ruining the effect. The cat pulled her into a hug.
“I’ve been trying to tell you that for two months.” He said with a hint of laughter in his voice. Tohru released the breath she didn’t know she’d been holding.
“Come on,” Tohru sighed, “let’s go back Hatori’s house.”
They walked slowly hand in hand, finding comfort in each other. The happiness that they felt was shadowed by the events that had occurred in Yuki’s house the night previous. Knowledge that he’d taken his own life. It didn’t make sense; why would he do that? Tohru gripped Kyo’s hand tighter as she felt the tears well up again.
“Are you crying because of Yuki?” the cat ventured. Tohru nodded and looked for a tissue to whip her nose on.
“Don’t get so down. Yuki did what he did on purpose. I’m not sure if it was just to free us from the curse or if he was really depressed.” Kyo looked at the riceball. She was now sniffling. “Hey, it will be fine…” the cat searched for something to make Tohru feel better. “…Don’t be sad over his death, be happy about his life.” He said, remembering something he’d seen on TV once.
“Okay.” Tohru stopped crying and moved closer to Kyo, her cat.

“I am sorry about Yuki.” Rin said between bites.
“Yeah, me too.” Haru answered taking a sip of tea. The horse pushed her plate away and leaned on her hand, scooting towards the ox.
“I never stopped caring about you. I just needed some time to myself. But you know…” she rubbed her hand over Haru’s, “… I realized today that you never know when your numbers up.”
Haru got up from the table. “I don’t really know what you’re up to, but I don’t want any part of it.”
Rin stalked towards him, “Haa-chan, Come on. Haven’t you missed me?” She pressed herself into the young man.
Haru put his hands on Rin’s shoulders holding her back. “Yes, but I can’t do this with you.”
“Haru,” The horse put her hands on his, “I know how much you liked Yuki. You probably are in so much pain. Don’t you want something to take the sorrow away?”
The ox looked down, hurt evident in his eyes. It occurred to Rin that Haru and Yuki must have been lovers, at one point at least. That was a piece of information she could use to her advantage. The horse walked toward the ox with an almost predatory grace. Haru backed away from her. When they were dating, Rin was able to get almost anything she wanted. The ox knew he was screwed when his back hit the wall. The Horse stopped before him. Haru swallowed. He would just have to stand his ground.
She ran the back of her hand along his jaw lightly, “Haru, I know how close you were to Yuki, but dwelling in your pain can’t be healthy.” Haru tried not to listen. Yuki, his Yuki. The angel that had come to his room last night then… had he been used? Did Yuki go to him last night just to use him? Just to get fucked before he killed himself?
“Rin… let me go.” Haru’s voice dropped a few octaves. The girl smiled to herself.
She looked up at him. “Haru? Let it out, I’m here for you.” The horse laid a kiss on his lips. Haru returned her kiss with more fervor, working her mouth open with his. Rin wrapped her arms around his neck. Truth is, she always liked him better like this. Haru leaned down and picked her up. Rin wrapped her legs around his waist. This worked out exactly the way she thought it would. She was right; the ox did want something to make his pain go away. He walked into the other room and laid her down on the couch smoothly. Haru went to his knees in front of her. He kissed her neck, her collarbone, her upper chest. Then wandering hands reached to her breasts, lightly squeezing. He eventually got fed up with her shirt and pulled it off, revealing a black lacy bra. Haru went back to kissing her chest, lightly biting the skin. Rin moaned and tossed her head back, eyes closed. She felt when the bra was removed. Practiced hands went back to her soft mounds. Haru returned his mouth to hers again in a heated kiss. Rin remembered his kisses when he was white; light, soft, gentle. Sometimes a girl needed to be treated with a little force. She gasped when his hand rubbed over her clothed center. She reached her hand down and stroked him through his jeans. Haru leaned back running his hands up her legs and pulled off her underwear, skirt still on. Rin smiled at the ox and undid his pants. He pushed them and his plain black boxers down to mid thigh. The horse gasped at his size. The term “hung like a bull” fit perfectly. Rin opened herself for him, praying that it wouldn’t hurt too bad. Haru gripped behind her right knee and left hip, pulling her toward his length. The girl leaned back, hooking her arms over the back of the couch.
“Please.” She asked simply. Haru let go of her knee and held himself pushing into Rin’s core. Once sheathed, his hand took up her knee again. He pulled back and pushed in forcibly. Rin called out, hand flying to the back of his neck. She ran her nails along the skin. Haru continued this rhythm, loving the sound of Rin’s moans, whispered words, and sharp in taken breaths. The horse wrapped her legs around the ox’s waist, pushing herself down harder on his shaft. Haru threw his head back, moving his hands to her hips. Rin cried out in pleasure putting her hands on the couch getting better leverage. She pushed back harder, almost making the ox lose his balance. Picking her up, Haru laid the horse on the floor. From this angle, he was able to go deeper and push harder into Rin’s soft folds. The ox supported himself on his hands, and when he would thrust into the girl under him, the movement started almost at the shoulder and traveled down. Rin’s breath caught in her throat every time Haru drove into her. Gods, it was better than she could have imagined. Sure, she’d had her share of men, but Haru had to be one of the best she’d been with.
