Chapter Ten

Aya stomped into his apartment, yanking off his gloves as he did so. It had been another fruitless day following dead-end leads on his sister’s whereabouts. His mood wasn’t the best as he stripped and stepped into the shower, but he resolved to try and leave his dark frame of mind behind before going to spend time with his lover.

Lover. He and Yohji had been lovers for almost two weeks now and Aya didn’t regret a single moment. Even on their one day off this week, Yohji had spent the entire day with him researching and then going all around Tokyo searching for Aya-chan. For that reason alone, he was determined to put his bad disposition behind so they could spend a pleasant night with each other.

After he dried off and got dressed, Aya made himself a cup of tea and sat down on the couch. He could hear Yohji puttering around next door but wasn’t quite ready to join him yet. Looking back, he wondered when it had become a precedent for him to go to Yohji’s instead of the other way around.

One thought led to another as Aya’s musings now turned to Yohji. Aya felt a bit guilty at how happy he’d been the past several weeks with Aya-chan still missing, but couldn’t contemplate the thought of ending their relationship. Last evening, Yohji had even pried out Aya’s secret of why he was reluctant to top. He’d been very surprised but pleased when Yohji didn’t pursue the topic, since he’d been sure the blond would have made him talk it to death or maybe even try to get Aya to top him last night.

Not that Aya hadn’t fantasized about fucking Yohji; he was just too unconfident in his technique and couldn’t bear the thought of disappointing his lover. Especially with the fact that, not only had Yohji never disappointed him, the man brought Aya fulfillment he’d never experienced before.

Finally feeling calmer and eager to see his boyfriend, Aya washed the teapot and mug before leaving his apartment. The door to Yohji’s apartment opened before Aya had a chance to even knock a second time, and he was pulled in for a rather passionate kiss while the door closed behind him.

“Feeling better?” Yohji asked when they parted. Aya only nodded in a dazed manner as Yohji led him to the couch. Dammit, why did the blond always have that effect on him? But Aya didn’t resist when Yohji pulled him into his arms after they sat down.

This is what he’d wanted all day, but duty came first with Aya and his sister was still in the hands of his enemies. Aya slid further into Yohji’s arms and felt himself relax for the first time since leaving Yohji’s bed that morning.

Aya’s chin was tilted up as Yohji asked with a frown, concern evident on his face, “Did you eat something?”

“No.” The pest hadn’t moved past his mother-hen routine since Aya had been injured two weeks ago. “I’m not hungry.” Aya added with a frown of his own. He’d since moved beyond annoyance to acceptance at Yohji’s behavior when he’d found out that the idiot could rival him in stubbornness.

“You have to eat something. I know for a fact that you haven’t eaten today. Omi made some tempura and miso soup which he brought over for us. I’m a bit hungry and hoped you’d have dinner with me.”

Aya opened his mouth to tell Yohji again that he wasn’t hungry when suddenly a growl from his stomach broke the silence. He really hadn’t had any appetite until Yohji mentioned the food. Not wanting to look like a fool, Aya finally conceded with undisguised ill-grace. “Hn. I suppose since Omi went to the trouble, I can try and force myself to have a little.”

Noting that Yohji was trying to hide a smug smile, Aya poked the man in the ribs and gritted out, “Not one word.”

Yohji yelped and rubbed his sore side as he pouted. “You can be so mean, you know that?”

Not able to resist that look, Aya grabbed Yohji by the hair to bring him in for a kiss. He literally devoured his lover’s mouth and Yohji reciprocated wholeheartedly. With a sigh of regret, he released Yohji and warned, “If you’re hungry, you better eat now while you have the opportunity.” To which Yohji gave him a saucy wink.

Aya followed Yohji into the small kitchen area, noting that his lover’s gait seemed a little awkward. Trying to figure out if Yohji had pulled something when they’d been crawling through that one warehouse, he was distracted when Yohji asked him to get something for them to drink with dinner. Setting the beverages on the tray that Yohji had assembled, the two of them soon settled side by side on the couch to eat their meal while discussing some of the false leads they’d followed earlier.

A little while later, Aya was surprised to find that he eaten everything that Yohji had dished out for him. Noticing Yohji’s smug look as the man wisely kept his mouth shut, Aya gathered all the dirty dishes to place on the tray. Yohji followed him into the kitchen area where they washed the dishes and put away the leftover food.

Yohji didn’t waste any time once they’d finished cleaning up from dinner as he led Aya to his bedside where he tilted Aya’s face up in order to kiss him. Opening his mouth to allow a questing tongue admittance, Aya sighed and wrapped his arms around his lover’s slim waist before slipping his hands under Yohji’s shirt to rub his back. Aya felt Yohji’s hands on either side of his face, caressing his jaw and neck, while a tongue flicked lazily about his mouth.

One by one, their garments fell to the floor between kisses and caresses. Aya was actually surprised to find them both naked when Yohji pulled back to turn down the covers. Once in bed, neither of them seemed to be in a hurry as they took their time leisurely exploring the other’s body’s with hands, mouths and tongues.

Yohji settled on top of Aya while kissing him breathless when Aya’s hands slipped down to cup and squeeze Yohji’s ass. His lover broke off the kiss and panted with his eyes closed. Not quite understanding the reaction, Aya was about to question Yohji when the blond slid down Aya’s body and began to suck his cock. Once more distracted, Aya moaned loudly and tossed back his head, fully focused on what that talented mouth was doing.

Little nips and kisses were placed all over his erection after he’d been sucked and deep-throated for several minutes. When Yohji swallowed him whole once more, Aya cried out, “Yohji! I…I’m going to come…”

As quickly as the blowjob started, it stopped. Aya opened his eyes, a bit confused to see Yohji reaching over to the nightstand for lube and condoms. Not in the least unhappy by this turn of events, Aya spread his legs wide to allow his lover further access to his body.

“Yohji?” Aya was totally confused when instead of the lube being applied to his entrance; his cock was slicked up before a condom was rolled onto it.

Understanding dawning, he tried to push Yohji’s hands away when they were grabbed and set on the pillow beside either side of his head. “Keep your hands there, Aya. Let me.”

The look in Yohji’s eyes, determined but a bit pleading, wasn’t enough to convince Aya to let Yohji do what he wanted. He was about to argue when his mouth was captured in a passionate kiss that ended with Yohji nibbling and whispering against them, “I want to do this. I can’t wait to feel you in me.”

Those words caused a sizzle of lust to streak through Aya’s body, pooling in his cock which twitched in response. With his heart beating frantically and breathing a bit strained, all Aya could do was nod in agreement. He hissed in pleasure while Yohji stroked his cock while spreading an ample amount of lube all over the condom.

When Yohji turned to the side and reached back to his own ass, Aya finally realized why his lover had been acting so strangely. There between the cheeks of Yohji’s ass was a bit of red that soon proved to be a butt plug. As Yohji gradually pulled it out he said, “When I was putting this in… I was imagining it was your cock… slowly filling me…” Yohji’s voice was a bit unsteady before stopping entirely when the toy was completely removed. Setting it aside, Yohji grabbed the lube again. Aya’s breath hitched as he watched Yohji apply the cool gel to his own hole. Wishing it was him doing the honors, Aya promised himself that one day it would be his fingers applying the lubricant.

“Are you ready to fuck me, Ayan?” With his eyes locked on Aya, Yohji straddled him then reached down to grasp Aya’s cock. Slowly, oh so slowly, Yohji lowered himself onto Aya’s aching shaft. Never breaking eye contact, he continued to envelope Aya’s cock until it was completely engulfed. “Oh my god! It feels so good…” With a shuddering breath, Yohji leaned down to rest his right forearm next to Aya’s head with his left hand on the bed beneath Aya’s raised arm.

They both gasped loudly as Yohji’s body gripped him tight when Aya shifted his hips up to try and get further into that tight heat. “Do something, Yohji…”

Yohji began to move forward and back over his body with Aya meeting those thrusts, angling for that spot that he’d hit before. Aya felt his world tilt dangerously every time Yohji completely enveloped his cock, the two of them moaning loudly with each movement while the ecstasy poured through him in waves while Yohji rode him. As much as he loved it when Yohji fucked him, this was just as incredible, but with a different kind of pleasure; partly from how good it felt and partly from knowing that he was deep inside his lover, and apparently making Yohji feel as good as the man made him feel.

The sensation of intense pleasure kept building and building with each thrust, every brush of skin. Aya felt as if he’d suffocate under the extreme emotions. Unable to keep his hips from their involuntary movement, Aya wrapped his left hand around Yohji’s cock to try to bring his lover as close to orgasm as he was.

“Yohji, I can’t…” The words cut off when Aya cried out loudly as he tumbled over the edge into bliss. He was vaguely aware of another hand around his on Yohji’s cock, pumping madly until he heard his lover’s yell above the sound of blood rushing through his veins. Almost immediately his cock was gripped tight as Yohji shuddered above him while warm wetness streaked across his chest and stomach.

Aya pulled Yohji down on top of him, needing to feel his lover in his arms. He nuzzled Yohji’s temple while the man tried to draw in ragged breaths. When he felt Yohji snuggle more into his embrace, he whispered, “Thank you.”

Yohji raised his head to smile at him, “You’re welcome, babe. Not that you need to thank me. I had as much fun as you did.” He then leaned in to give Aya a breath-stealing kiss. If Aya weren’t so sated at the moment, he would have been hard again from just that kiss. As much as he’d love to repeat the last hour, he was both emotionally and physically exhausted from the long day.

When the kiss finally ended, Aya cupped Yohji’s cheek and savored the moment between them. About to suggest that they wash off, a yawn interrupted his attempt.

Yohji chuckled and said, “I think it’s time for some sleep after we get cleaned up.”

To Aya’s chagrin, he yawned again so he settled for a nod of agreement. Too relaxed to do much of anything, he didn’t complain when Yohji got a warm cloth to clean him with after Yohji rid him of the condom.

With feelings that Aya didn’t want to examine too closely, he curled up in Yohji’s arms to fall asleep. He worried that if he acknowledged how much he wanted Yohji in his life that fate would find a way to have the opposite occur, since Aya knew he didn’t deserve to be happy. Resolving himself to enjoying one day at a time, Aya fell asleep feeling safe and cherished in Yohji’s embrace.

“Aya, do you think there’s some connection to Sakura being missing and the new mission?” Yohji asked Aya as he trailed behind him up the stairs.

Aya entered his apartment but left the door open so Yohji could follow. They had about forty minutes until they were to leave for the private airstrip and had spent the last several hours planning out the mission. They were to take out three elderly members of a secret sect intent on taking over the world.

He sat down on his sofa and waited for Yohji to join him before answering. “Yes, I do. I have a very bad feeling about this and the timing is suspicious. I don’t think she’s the type of girl to run away from home.” Plus the fact that she’d told Aya she was in love with him. Granted, she had stayed away since she’d witnessed him eliminating a target, but that had been months ago and nothing had happened in all that time.

“What do you think we should do?” Yohji raised a hand to brush Aya’s bangs back.

“There’s not much we can do. Just keep your eyes open and if she’s there tonight, make sure she’s not hurt.” Aya would blame himself if Sakura was injured because of her involvement with him.

Yohji pulled him in for a hug and kissed the top of his head. “She’ll be fine, Aya. And if she’s not there, we’ll start looking for clues to her whereabouts tomorrow, okay?”

Leaning into Yohji for a moment before pulling away to stand, Aya agreed. “We better get ready. Be careful tonight.”

“You, too. I don’t want to be patching you up again.” Yohji stood to hug Aya close once more.

Not exactly happy with the reminder of his last injury, Aya poked Yohji none to gently in the ribs. His lover yelped, but the sound was soon smothered by Aya’s lips as he began to kiss Yohji. The man certainly knew how to kiss, Aya thought to himself as he lost himself in the pleasure of Yohji’s talented mouth.

Wanting nothing more than to lead Yohji to his bed and spend the night enjoying each other’s bodies, Aya pulled away with a sigh. “We better get ready.”

Yohji nodded, but leaned in for one last kiss before turning to go to his own apartment. “I’ll be back in a few minutes,” he said then closed the door behind him.

Aya stared at the door a moment longer then went to change into his mission clothes. He had a bad feeling and hoped that at the end of the day, he and Yohji would be returning to the Koneko in one piece.

“What did I tell you about not wanting to patch you up again? I can’t believe you. Just standing there, waiting for her to shoot you again? I swear I saw *your* life pass before my eyes! And what the fuck was that stunt walking through those flames? You took ten years off my life. I probably have fucking grey hair now!”

Aya mostly ignored Yohji’s noisy rant. It wasn’t like he’d done any of that to purposely upset his lover. He closed his eyes and leaned against Yohji, who was bandaging his arm in the bathroom after applying several butterfly bandages. Good thing they had a decent supply of the things, Aya thought before turning his mind to what had happened during the mission. He distinctly remembered the moment Schuldig had told Sakura to shoot him again and recalled that his body refused to move. It was only when Yohji had saved his life that the spell had been broken.

Not willing to show weakness in front of the team, Aya hadn’t said anything as he led Weiß from the airstrip. He knew their bosses would not be pleased that they’d failed in their mission.

Yohji seemed to have calmed down a bit after he finished wrapping Aya’s injury and said, “Well, I guess that answers the question as to what happened to Sakura.”

Aya frowned as he pulled back to look at Yohji. “But for what purpose, other than to torment the girl by making her kill me? Why did they kidnap her?”

Yohji carded his hand through Aya’s hair. “I don’t know, but it seems as if they are keeping her alive for now.”

“Kritiker isn’t going to be happy that we didn’t complete the mission.” Aya stood and walked out of the small room with Yohji on his heels.

“Too damned bad. Those morons probably knew what we’d be up against and should have realized that we’d have trouble with Schwarz.” Yohji stripped off his clothes in jerky movements, his anger evident.

Aya removed his own clothes, folding them neatly and setting them aside before crawling into Yohji’s bed, hissing in pain when he leaned on his right arm. He was just so tired, his arm ached and all he wanted to do was go to sleep so he could forget everything for a few hours.

The mattress dipped and Aya was surprised to feel Yohji urging him to sit up. Opening his eyes, he saw a glass of water and two pain pills being held out to him. Giving Yohji a grateful look, Aya swallowed the pills before handing the empty glass back to Yohji, who set it on the nightstand. Aya settled back down as the light went out. He felt Yohji crawl over to the other side of the bed and tug him into his arms.

Feeling warm lips against his briefly, he heard Yohji whisper, “Good night, Aya. I…” There was something more that Aya didn’t quite catch as he drifted off to sleep.

*****

Aya, a bit battered about the edges, was racing back home from his failed attempt to rescue Sakura. He’d reluctantly left his sister behind with the rest of the team to guard her, torn between the need to protect Aya-chan and rescuing an innocent caught in this mess because of him. Aya felt defeated in the fact that, not only had he not rescued Sakura, but it seemed that Crawford was positive he would regain Aya-chan again. He hoped that his lover and team had been able to withstand the rest of Schwarz because Aya was certain that the rest of that team had gone after his sister.

Things were spiraling out of even Kritiker’s control. When Manx stopped by the other day to inform them of the other agent’s death at the hands of Schwarz, they sent Momoe-san away to safety. Even though she was also an agent of Kritiker, there was no reason to risk her life more than necessary. The way things were unraveling, Aya didn’t think there would be a Kritiker to work for much longer, and they would be no need for the shop since there wouldn’t be a reason for the cover if that happened.

Then Birman arrived on their doorstep, injured and barely conscious, to inform them that she knew where Aya-chan was. Aya could scarcely believe it. After arriving at the location, only to find it deserted, he’d almost screamed in frustration… then they’d found Aya-chan. He couldn’t understand how she’d been left behind, but things made sense when Prodigy came to offer the exchange. Aya *knew* Sakura had tried to help rescue his sister.

As terrified as he was by the thought of Aya-chan being in Schwarz’s hands again, he was equally worried about Yohji. And Omi and Ken, of course. Schwarz hadn’t been pulling any punches in regards to Kritiker and for all Aya knew, they wouldn’t hesitate to kill his teammates. The thought of Yohji dead was almost as painful as a physical blow. Blinking away the sudden blurriness from his eyes, Aya stepped on the gas, speeding his way back home.

“Yohji! Omi! Ken!” Aya ran into the Koneko with a sinking heart. The place was completely in shambles as he ran toward Omi, who was lying on the floor. Thankfully the kid was still alive but Aya’s fear had not been unfounded. Schwarz had come after Aya-chan again. Aya checked Birman. She was unconscious but didn’t seem to be harmed other than that. He returned his attention to Omi, lifting his shoulder slightly and quietly saying his name.

Omi roused when Aya touched him and said, “I’m sorry, Aya. They got her. We couldn’t hold them off.”

Aya felt a pain in his chest that only doubled when he noticed that Yohji was no where in sight. Again he’d failed. Why was he never able to protect the ones he loved? “Where’s Yohji?”

“He and Ken stayed in your room to act as a decoy. I haven’t seen them since Birman and I brought Aya-chan down here to hide. It didn’t do any good,” Omi said as his voice wobbled from impending tears.

Ken entered the shop as Omi sniffed back the tears and Aya immediately looked up and asked, “Where’s Yohji?”

“He’s upstairs. That Schuldig asshole roughed him up a bit but he’ll be okay. How are Omi and Birman?” Ken knelt to take Omi from Aya so he could rise.

“They’re a bit banged up but nothing seems to be life threatening. Can you see to them?” Aya turned on his heel, not even waiting for a response before he rushed up the stairs two at a time.

“Yohji!” Aya hurried over to his boyfriend, who was sitting on the couch, staring at the floor with his shoulders hunched over.

Yohji wearily looked up and Aya caught sight of the bruises on his lover’s throat as Yohji said over and over, “I’m so sorry, Aya.”

Averting his gaze once more, Yohji lowered his head to resume staring at the floor. Aya sat beside Yohji and pulled him into his arms, thankful that his lover was mostly alright. “It’s not your fault, Yohji. Even… even if I’d been here… we never seem to be able to win against those bastards.” He still had Yohji. Aya had failed his sister once more and was losing hope of rescuing her again but he still had Yohji.

Aya pulled back to stroke his fingers over the marks on Yohji’s throat, his gaze hardening. “Are you okay, Yohji?” He leaned in and kissed Yohji’s bruised skin while the blond nodded. “Good, we need to go help Ken with Birman and Omi. They were pretty banged up. Then we’ll figure out what to do next.”

Holding Yohji close, Aya closed his eyes against the pain in his heart. He’d been so close to having his sister safe, only to have it slip through his grasp. And he hadn’t even been here to protect her. His honor had not allowed Aya to send another in his place to try and rescue Sakura. It was his fault the girl was in the mess to begin with. They needed to regroup, assess their injuries and find out where Schwarz had taken the girls. This time, he swore that they would win against those bastards. There was no way he’d let his sister down again.

Thankful to have at least one person he loved safe, Aya pulled back to say, “Let’s check with Ken to see if he needs anything before going down to the mission room. We need to try and figure out the location of my sister.”

The two men stood up and before Aya could move away, Yohji hugged him close as he vowed, “We’ll get her back, Aya. I promise.”

Yohji leaned in for a passionate kiss as if to seal that vow before walking out of the room. As Aya watched him leave the room, he felt a spark of hope flare to life… that he’d fulfill his own vow and they would indeed rescue his sister because Yohji said it would be so. Allowing himself that little fanciful thought, Aya closed his door and followed Yohji to the shop.
