Chapter 10: Mortals, Dragons and Gods

"The more the merrier," said with a smile Inferno and turning toward the two blue-haired mages cast the spell. "Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade."
Two swirling streams of fire flew toward them when their bodies after instinctively use of magic covered themselves with blue scales. However the force generated by explosion when fire touched each of them was sufficient to throw back both into the water behind.
Stranger crossed his arms slowly and softly spoken a few words to create two waves in the shape of fangs, which flew in the direction of the two golden-haired mages. Kanna jumped out of the way when one of the fangs hit still standing Gianna.
"So another enemy," heavily sighed golden-haired mage.
"Seems not only us not like them," laughed Akira slowly walked toward the individual who attacked both mages.
"Fool," only heard an angry comment from Inferno when not keeping enough caution after approaching to short black-haired being it without warning punched him in the stomach by saying carelessly a few words. "Khe, Khe. Poison Dragon’s Iron Fist."
"You son of a bitch," he cursed when the black-haired creature turned it gaze toward the other slowly looking at each of them. Baring it imposing teeth and for a moment revealing partially it face moved towards the white-haired mage. He blocked the blow it launched stopping in front of him with right arm, which was still changed.
"Hey kitty," Ikari shouted toward Yagyu when he was creating an ice bow, on which she turned around filled with killing intention toward him just to see a series of arrows flying toward her. Some of them flew in Gianna direction, who threw herself forward landing on the ground, barely avoiding the attack.
"I thought I said to you something not just once," said the golden-haired slayer when the shots bounced off her skin without hurting her too much.
During this time, holding an ice made scythe Inferno swung it while jumping towards Natsu on what the other mage surrounded his fist with flames and easily destroyed his weapon.
"Dark Capriccio," shorter fire slayer created beam of the dark energy with one hand and using it like a whip hit pink-haired mage throwing him back a bit.
Being with pair of insectoid limbs slowly turned it head towards Erza as if it temporarily lost interest in the white-haired mage and started suck in air.
"Poison Dragon's Roar," she belched a wide stream of toxic fumes, which was heading towards Scarlet. Before she could react between her and creature appeared huge golden-haired mage covering her by taking the majority of the attack on himself.
"This isn’t your fight," said with barely audible voice when she looked at him surprised. At that time, Gianna took a deep breath and turned toward the creature.
"Lighting Dragon’s Roar," she spat a stream of lightning that hit target only slightly shocking it without leaving any traces of injury. "Tough one," pink-eyed mage cursed under her breath.
'Perfect occasion,' Akira thought forming an ice dragon that flew straight at a giant mage who just protected red-haired mage from toxic fumes.
"Behind you," said Erza on what he turns around and stretch before him one of his hands. Ice creature meeting with his hand in the blink of an eye broke into dozens of pieces.
'Damn. With sheer physical strength destroyed my ice construct,' Ikari was irritated.
Moving slightly Scarlet swung her sword, around which gathered flames and send a fire attack toward the still shaking from shock mysterious creature. Was it because of the attack power or still residual paralysis that it fell to the ground.
"No," mumbled a black-haired creature when putting much strength Elfman hit it with his right arm. The blow, which it stopped seemly without problem crossing it insectoid limbs at the same time kicking one of the Strauss legs. Because of that he literally lost the balance for a while but it was long enough to cause him fall to the ground next to the creature.
"Not so fast," said Akira as a giant mage slowly started walk towards him and making appropriate gestures casted spell. "Ice-Make: Prison."
Huge chunks of ice immediately surrounded the golden-haired mage when Inferno surrounded by flames with great force struck Erza causing her to fall. However the armor reduced significantly damage she suffered so she had only a few scrapes after falling over.
"How could you," the third of the brothers turned to Ikari and took a deep breath for a moment to spit out a stream of ice. "Ice Dragon’s Roar."
Akira unfazed sucked the attack and made a disappointed face.
"You call that an attack. I'll show you what mean to attack," began to take the air.
"Ice God’s Bellow," he blew a stream of black ice, which carried away the opponent and threw far away from the shore right into the depths of the coastal waters.
"Well, one of the counter," laughed the god slayer with a corner of the eye seeing how near to him two attacks just clashed each other.
Gianna raised her hands above her head beginning to form a halberd made of lightning.
"Eat it. Lightning Dragon's Heavenward Halberd," with all her strength threw at the black-haired creature, which just got up and put hands preparing to cast it spell. It formed into shape resembling a serpent's head made of poison fumes that flew ahead toward halberd. At the time when the two spell met poison wave bite like a snake into prey in halberd stopping it completely.
"Hmpf," said angrily golden-haired mage seeing as the opponent easily stopped her attack.
In the meantime in top block of ice cage appeared minor cracks that quickly grew to form an expanding hole. When it was wide enough on the top of the cage crawl out from inside giant golden-haired mage and looked around searching for the one who imprisoned him.
"Don’t get distracted child," Inferno scolded Erza when she seemed to be looking around when he surrounded one hand with flames and struck a blow looking like a claw attack, which however slid down of her armor without causing too much damage. "Fire Dragon’s Crushing Fang."
She changed on fly held weapon on the one from Sea Empress armor and with broad swung sent a wave of water into short fire slayer causing that after hit he took a few steps back.
"Fire Dragon’s Flame Elbow," Natsu used the moment of distraction of other fire mage and throw a punch amplified with magic aimed straight into the side of his face.
"Not so fast, young man," said the unsurprised Inferno creating with a flick of the hand a shiny green barrier using dark magic that completely absorbed the power blow before it reached his face falling apart in process.
Two ice mages, which some time ago immortal fire mage threw into the water has just reached the shore and looked around to orientate into current situation.
"You shouldn’t came back to shore," demonically chuckled Akira. "Ice God’s Crushing Fists," around his hands appeared a black aura and he made a motion with both hands as if hit something on the ground. Almost immediately over both mages appeared two huge fists of black ice and with great force fell down. In last moment both were able to cover their bodies with blue scales before been hit but still force of impact driven them partially into the sand.
"You don’t fight like a Man," said Elfman when struck with full force right fist into the cover from the poison that created a humanoid creature. Again he felt another wave of debilitating poison spreading in his body even though with the blow, he managed to break cover.
"Khe, Khe. Acid Dragon’s Roar," it said with all strength spitting on him a greenish substance. Covering himself with the stone arm Strauss shielded himself from attack, however a little of corrosive substance flew further pass him until it hit standing near Gianna. Both felt the pain when the acid started to slowly consume Elfman arm stone skin or female mage skin.
"Die painfully," screamed in pain Gianna with one hand wiping acid residues mixed with the blood from her arm and started run toward the creature, which began suck in the air.
"Poison Dragon's Roar."
"Roaring Thunder," mad golden-haired mage put most of the rest of her magical energy in the blow that broke through the stream of poison and hit the target. Electrocuted with great force flew back hitting the wooden wall of a nearby building.
Using the flames on his feet as the propel Natsu flew at high speed toward the Inferno colliding with him and causing both flew many meters before they're hit the ground. At a time when both were still flying Kanna summoned all the swords and using telekinesis sent them in Akira direction making them circle around him. When she jumped up holding a huge scythe in his direction all the blades at once flew toward Ikari.
"Ice-Make: Cocoon," the god slayer created around himself a small sphere covered with many spikes. Despite impact with full force all blades failed to break the cocoon even scythe blade Yagyu held just slid off the surface leaving nothing more than not very deep crack in the ice.
"What's going on?" Elfman felt his muscles slowly going numb so that he has growing with each passing moment problems with standing straight. Near similar symptoms began to experience Gianna though she already felt it before but now her ability to ignore the effects of intoxication was almost at it limit. She looked slowly around but even her eyesight began to weaken and everything started to be covering with fog. She looked at one of the hand on which trickled slowly oozing blood from several wounds.
"Don’t push yourself," she heard a gentle female voice and felt like someone grabbed her arm gently trying to persuade to move on.
"Man doesn’t act like that," Strauss tried to protest when the other Otto sister walked up to him and began to gently but firmly pull him back.
"I feel from the distance poison that is in your body. I don’t know if I can do something beyond simply getting rid of it from you, but this should be enough for now," Ayaname said with calm yet firm tone.
Slowly not rushing both sisters began to move away from the area where still was ongoing fights helping both poisoned mages walk straight.
"Khe. Khe. Poisonous Dragon’s Acid Roar," creature took a huge amount of air and spitted a wide stream of venom and corrosive acid toward the golden-haired mage who managed cover his body with blue scales before it reaches him. Ignoring the attack he keep going steady ahead and when he was before his current opponent with a lot of force slammed into it abdomen sending many meters backward until it slam into the wooden house wall.
"Strong," he noted seeing as acid slowly began to eating it way thru scales in few places. Wasting no time moved with great speed in front of shaking off from the shock creature and then again hit a strong punch that caused it fell inside the building together with a piece of wall. Looking back briefly jumped over the edge of the hole and disappeared inside.
"Ice Dragon’s Spike," spoke almost at the same time both brothers forming a ice chunks heading towards Akira, who began to slowly emerge from the cocoon.
"Not nice," he commented surrounding one of the palms with ice. "Ice-Make: Wolf."
Formed wolf's head struck with a large force Kanna and blew her away when he grabbed one of the ice spikes and began to devour it quickly.
Natsu and Inferno slowly stood up and they surrounded their hands with glittering spheres of energy. Then almost at the same time they moved toward each other and began to bring out a series of blows with their fists. Each hit other was causing explosions of fire that slowly began to mix and forming in the end one giant ball of fire, which consumed them both. The explosion of accumulated fire threw them both away from each other and Dragneel landed near Erza, which not waiting once again attacked short fire mage with wave of water.
"It was supposed to be an attack? You must put more power if you want to hurt me," said Inferno when the attack left a little wound on his shoulder slowly turning scarlet.
"Fire Dragon’s Claw," Natsu used the flames around his feet to fly at high speed at a shorter slayer hitting him with great force but failing to throw back.
"Such an impudence. Dark Capriccio," Inferno with one of his hands formed a rotating beam of darkness, which swung and hit his opponent throwing him away slightly. Erza at that time changed weapon into spear from Lightning Empress armor and pointed tip of the weapon at the short fire mage.
"What do you want to do me with that?" he asked when the tip of the weapon fired a single lightning hitting him and causing him to lose balance forcing to take a step back to prevent himself from tip over.
"Ice-Make: Lance," making it with impression of it been casted carelessly created a dozen lances and sent them toward the red-haired mage.
Dragneel without waiting surrounded himself with flames and using Fire Dragon’s Sword Horn destroyed all ice shards and stopped hitting with his head with full force Inferno’s face, which made a slight crunch when partially broke off one of the cartilage.
"Stand back," he heard when Scarlet created seal before the tip of her spear, sending a series of lightning towards immortal slayer who after being hit in the face took a few steps back when in his body spread series of small involuntary muscle contractions caused by shock. Jumping of the lighting path Natsu surrounded one of the elbows with flames.
"Fire Dragon’s Flame Elbow," with all his might hit Inferno, who had just stumbled upon after been shocked by lightning.
"Damn you," murmured short fire slayer before he fell to the ground stunned.
"Unconscious," said with a smile pink-haired mage approaching to lying magician.
"There are still two," said Erza carefully looking around noticing the lack of a huge golden-haired mage and a humanoid enemy. Didn’t escaped her attention a big gap in the wall of a nearby building and currently passing it Elfman therefore she concluded that for the time being they can only deal with one of the two remaining enemies. Near was that huge white-haired mage who seemed to cover the golden-haired female mage lying beneath him from the attack of the ice mage.
"Be careful," shouted Natsu seeing ice tigers approaching each of them.
"Fire Dragon’s Iron Fist," with quickly hit Dragneel destroyed the ice beast when Erza cut in half attacking her ice construct. When they was dealing with Akira creations from the ground slowly rose Inferno, wiped slowly dripping over his face blood and enveloped his hands with flames.
"Fire Dragon’s Wing Attack," started without warning and taking advantage of their attention concentrated on ice creations hit both. Although he couldn’t throw them back he only managed to knock them down. Scarlet rose quickly and pointing more or less in his direction spear send a series of lightning.
"Again?" a little nervous took a few steps back when didn’t manage to avoid all of the lightning. Almost immediately he was hit in the face by a taller fire mage. Shaking off after both attacks and wiping out blood that flowed from a cut eyebrow folded his hands facing the red-haired mage.
"Dark Capriccio," dark energy flow hit her without causing much damage beyond tipping.
"Fire Dragon’s Crushing Fang," at this time pink-haired mage hit him diagonally with fist surrounded by flames, which attack he narrowly escaped and pointed one of the hands towards the other mage.
"Dark Delete," from the surrounding palm casts fired several missiles causing to increase the distance between the two fire slayers.
"Dark Barrier," with second hand formed on one side greenish barrier, in which hit the ice spike. "You almost surprised me child."
"Don’t lecture me," said Kanna making semicircular shape in the air with her hands. Immediately all lying near her weapons raised and flew toward him.
"Dark Delete," he used his other hand to create the second series of spheres of darkness, which stopped or changed the course of flying weapons.
Yagyu during using her swords to attack grabbed telekinetically a flying toward her scythe, which she guided then that it landed in front of Erza. 'You can use ice attacks like roar if you focus on the way they look like when the ice slayer use his spells,’ for a brief moment she put a hand to her head sending a telepathic message to red-haired mage.
Scarlet while reaching for a weapon lying before her changed armor to Heaven’s Wheel one starting to requip dozens of swords around. Temporarily putting aside scythe she grabbed two of the swords.
"Blumenblatt," launched at high speed and passed by Inferno cutting him on a slant with held swords. The rest of the following blades hit him a moment later. Although he managed to avoid some still much more hit him leaving many wounds, which began to slowly bleed out blood on the ground.
"Now," yelled Kanna to the red-haired mage and began to suck in the air. "Ice Dragon’s Roar."
Erza immediately changed held in her hand swords into scythe and turned it edge toward the Inferno. Before the end of the weapon appeared seal, from which flew in the direction of the enemy ice attack resembled a dragon slayer roar. He still didn’t shake off from previous attack when from both sides struck him ice attacks.
"Damn mages," he muttered reeling in, when from some new wounds began to flow out blood beside that the ones he had before become a bit more open, causing it to bleed from them even harder. He put both of his hands together and directed them toward Kanna. "Dark Capriccio."
Swirling dark energy beam fired at her stop at the invisible barrier a few inches in front of her outstretching her hands. Although the attack wasn’t able to break through the barrier that Yagyu created, she started slowly move backward without moving herself. As if someone had pulled her away even though she knew it was only a sheer force of Inferno spell that was pressing on the shield.
Taking advantage of the situation Scarlet donned Black Wing armor and moved ahead still holding a scythe, which she swung after she stopped right before Inferno.
"Bugs," commented Inferno coughing some blood before he fell to the ground with a deep wound running across the back.
When both were standing looking at the mage laying near, their heard a sound as if something large or heavy hit the sand. Both looked in that direction and saw a third opponent, who was laying on a piece of wooden wall still dazed after a fall.

As soon as temporarily blinding by fire explosion wear off Kanna looked toward the ice slayer seeing as it started suck in air again.
"Ice God’s Bellow," a stream of black ice flew straight at her and only thanks to blue scales that covered her body immediately she suffered minimal damage. But soon after taking the hit dropped from the hand weapon, which fell on the sand.
"Ice God’s Crushing Fists," not giving her a moment of break enveloped his hands with black ice and made with them trust ahead. Immediately in front of her appeared two huge fist of black ice that at high speed was approaching her.
"Don’t be so quick little mouse," she said with a grin straightening and reaching with both hands in front of her. Ice fists collided a few inches before her with an invisible barrier; however it only weakened their momentum. Although the barrier that surrounded Kanna didn’t shatter golden-haired mage itself started to been pushed back until Akira spell began to lose its power and fade away.
"Ice Dragon’s Tail Sweep," she made a wide swung with hand forming a wave of ice that flew toward Ikari.
"You still don’t understand baby. It wouldn’t work," he said without making effort to dodge and when attack hit him not even move a bit nor suffered any noticeable injuries.
"Ice-Make: Gun," god slayer created huge cannon with ice and fired a bullet at her.
"That wouldn’t work either," she clenched her fist and hit oncoming projectile smashing it into pieces. She crouched in preparation for the attack and just like he she began to suck in air.
"Ice Dragon’s Roar."
"Ice God’s Bellow," both attacks met halfway but this time bellow was much stronger and broke thru hitting Yagyu, which rolled back slightly injured.
"Oh, that reminds me of one of our previous meetings. Ice God’s Crushing Fists," this time performed it with both fists hitting down. Similarly two giant ice fists appeared over lying Kanna and moved like his own hands. At the last moment before it hits over Yagyu appeared someone's silhouette.
"Samson," she said only one word seeing giant mage covered with rock scales who took the full force of the impact himself. In her eyes for a moment there something that could mean uttered without words: thank you.
"You messed up such nice attack," said Akira clearly disappointed and looked around noticing how Natsu was standing next to it seems unconscious Inferno.
"Ice-Make: Tiger,” stretched out both hands to form with each ice beast, which instantly rushed towards one of the two Fairy Tail’s mages.
When two ice constructs was moving towards their destinations Stoff stood up and giving a helping hand helped Kanni stand up.
"Ice-Make: Hammer," Ikari created a giant hammer, which appeared above giant mage and fell down with great force. Despite the disintegration after the clash attack not left any visible traces of the white-haired mage.
"Earth Dragon’s Spikes," Samson struck the ground with his hands creating a series of cracks propagating in the direction of Akira, from which had already begun to grow out a stone spikes.
"Almost. Ice-Make: Death Scythe," he created a large scythe out of ice and jumped into the air right when earth mage attack reached place where he was standing.
'Imbue the weapon with little of yours powers,' Kanna telepathically spoke to two ice mages, which was close to her and just finished digging out of the sand, in which their stuck after one of Akira attacks. They were a slight battered so with a noticeable sigh of relief nodded. With hand gesture moved weapon before them and walked slowly toward the Inferno ignoring god slayer. Putting a hand on her forehead formed a temporally telepathic bond with a fire dragon slayer 'Please switch opponents with me. Each of us has for now someone whom we can hardly affect with our spells.' For a moment she saw Natsu hesitating before he slowly started moving toward her.
"Again you're taking me a chance to fight against the strongest opponent here," he said with a noticeable reproach in his voice passing her by.
"It is possible that the ice mage isn’t as bad as last time," she said and a blue glow surrounded her palm to form an ice spike that she throws toward the Inferno.
"Tough," commented Akira when landing before Samson ice weapon that he swung disintegrated on contact with the stone scales that still was covering the earth mage body.
"Fire Dragon’s Sword Horn," Dragneel with great force struck the side of Ikari, who reacted a bit too late and form an ice shield too far away. Upset got up quickly and not paying attention to a few minor wounds began chant another spell. At that time ice mages ended up filling up weapon with magical energies and threw it in Kanna direction calling out to draw her attention.
"Ice-Make: Ice Bringer," ice mage created a pair of swords when he rushed at Natsu, which was surrounded with ice barrier behind not leaving way of escape.
"Fire Dragon’s Brilliant Flames," not worrying about the situation in which we currently find himself pink-haired mage has created a huge fire explosion that melted not only barrier behind him but also weapons held by Akira.
"Earth Dragon’s Roar," Ikari heard somewhere behind himself so immediately dodged to the side and right away after stopping touched the ground.
"Ice-Make: Floor," began to freeze more and more space around them.
"Earth Dragon’s Spikes," almost immediately responded Stoff by creating mass of rock spikes, which shattered the ice crust.
"Not bad," commented Akira and began to take the air.
"Ice God’s Bellow," a stream of black ice flew towards Natsu and Samson. Fire killer used his own roar to stop the attack when the earth mage said another spell. "Earth Dragon’s Diamond Claws," his forearm and hands overgrown and covered with dark blue colored diamonds. With their help, without any trouble blocked part of the god slayer attack, that had hit him.
"Earth Dragon’s Spikes," struck with his still changed hands ground creating a much faster and more massive rock spikes under Ikari. Shortly after that Dragneel enveloped his hand with flames.
"Fire Dragon’s Crushing Fang," swung slant with his hand hitting with great force ice mage who with burn marks flew backwards dozen of meters before falling to the ground. And at this point, almost beside them fell a piece of wooden wall with humanoid opponent to what both dragon slayers involuntary turned their eyes in that direction.

Golden-haired mage smiled slightly when heard a huge explosion outside. Apparently someone was finishing warm up or simply began to fight seriously.
"Poison Dragon’s Iron Fist," humanoid creature without giving him time to react attacked hitting in the arm, which was still covered with scales even though they were at a few points already partially digested by the remnants of the acid.
"Ice Dragon’s Spike," he created a short ice spike and threw it but doing what seems a careless movement opponent avoided it.
"Acid Dragon’s Roar," spat a stream of corrosive substance against, before which he covered his face with hands. It splashed around spattering the ground, support pillar beside him but a large part of it was still on his hands.
"Ice Dragon’s Tail Sweep," with both hands moved through the air in arcs toward her sends a wave of ice and around him acid residues, which he still had on his arms feeling a little relief from the burning pain he fell after attack moment before.
"Treating me like that?" it issued a groan when hit by an attack flew in the direction of one of the support pillars. "I'll show you," it started again to take the air.
"Acid Dragon’s Spit," it spat out a small portion of the acid, which was moving so fast that he didn’t even react when got hit by it in the left shoulder. Stabbing pain came to his mind when the scales on the shoulder almost immediately dissolved.
"Monster," he swore clutching his shoulder, where the acid without having to worry about protecting layer of scales began to digest his skin. The next few moments they spent on exchanging blows. Spit for spike, roar for roar and so again and again and again attacked at the same time trying to avoid enemy blows. But each passing moment made him feel the effects of the poison slowly spreading through his body.
“It's almost finished," smiled Ayaname toward white-haired mage and looked at her sister. She was still tirelessly hard worked for the removal of the poison still contained in Gianna body. Despite working without a break in the body of a young dragon slayer was still so much venom.
"I have to go there," said Elfman standing when Otto finished detoxifies him and slowly started moving toward the gap in the building.
"You can’t. This being poisoned you I suppose. I don’t want again work to remove the venom out of you," Ayaname tried in vain to stop him.

When he went inside, for a moment his eyes adjusted to the dim light inside and stood there listening to the still ongoing exchange of attacks two fighters inside.
"You," the golden-haired mage stopped when looking toward the hole saw white-haired mage. "Why did you come in here?" He asked turning away from him doing another dodge from humanoid being attack.
"Khe, Khe. Poison Dragon’s Roar," this time the attack flew towards Elfman, who hid behind nearby crates remains.
"As a Man I couldn’t leave you alone to fight with it," he said as his eyes just finished getting used to. He looked around the interior of the building seeing in some places partially predigested wooden crates. Definitely those two seems to hold back while fighting.
"Ice Dragon’s Fang," a giant mage hand glow surrounded by claw-shaped hand, with which took a swing at his opponent. It folded hands in front of him to form a shield from the poison, which stopped the golden-haired mage attack.
"Acid Dragon’s Fang," one of it hand surround green glow and then shot out a stream of acid at high speed but instead hitting bigger mage stopped at one of the pillars starting to digest it until there was almost nothing left from it.
"Don’t get me wrong," started to say golden-haired mage towards Strauss. "But I don’t think you can keep up pace of the fight so would be good if you leave us alone or just trying to avoid attacks if you want to stay here."
"I can fight. A Man doesn’t run away from the fight," he said when his whole body began to change and he knew that this time the arm itself wasn’t enough. Moments later took shape described by his sister as the king of beasts.
"Huh?" ice mage looked at the changed Elfman. "Take-Over magic."
"Khe, Khe. Sweet. I want that too," it said and attacked with acid dragon’s roar Strauss, who easily avoided been splashed by corrosive substance. Then he saw the other mage began to surround visible to the naked eye and palpable aura of magic energies and it seemed to him that his appearance has changed a bit gaining in few places scales. Somewhat surprised Strauss realized also that now the other mage seemed to be much stronger than moment ago.
"Do not hesitate," said the golden-haired mage when with almost impossible to follow speed by Elfman appeared before their opponent and with great force struck in the stomach by send it flying through half of the building until it stopped hitting the back wall of the building.
"If you fight then as she would be a man and not a woman," he said when the surrounding aura and scales began to fade.
"Woman?" Elfman with surprise opened his eyes.
"Khe, Khe. It’s so rude ," she said slowly rising from the ground.
"However she looks my senses wouldn’t be deceived. She smells like a woman despite her appearance," said firmly golden-haired mage.
"Khe, Khe. Am I not enough femine-like," she moved flirtatious hands over her deformed body, "that you two not see in me an innocent woman?"
"It will not change anything," said at the end of Strauss. "I don’t hesitate before attacking you."
"We'll see," she said, "Acid Dragon’s Spit," sucking some air spat out a small portion of the acid, which flew again incredibly quickly. However due to white-haired mage jumped away bullet hit the shoulder of the other mage.
"Grrr," huge mage grabbed his left shoulder cursing in his thoughts that he got hit right in almost the same place as before.
"Don’t run away from me pretty boy," she said and several times spit acid in the Elfman direction, which however thanks to the speed of the current form easily avoid attacks while clinging to the walls or ceiling approaching closer and closer to her. After one of attacks he was next to her and hit up with a strong blow so she flew toward wall where the hole was.
"I guess it's my turn now," laughed ice slayer when scales and aura surrounding him earlier reappeared. He moved his hands quickly in right way.
"Ice Dragon’s Tail Sweep," made a slight arc in the air in front of himself forming very large ice wave. Opponent folds her hands trying to use a protective spell but his attack was faster and she flew out with a piece of wall.
"I think a bit overdone it," scratched his head golden-haired mage when again dragon force started to disappear. For a moment his head spin so he grabbed a nearby pillar, which unfortunately was already somewhat predigested with acid in several places. Not controlling fully force of which he used to maintain a vertical pose ended pulling out piece of pillar and falling to the ground. After a long moment, he tilted his head to one and then the other side and started to get up.
'Once again the incredible power. How can a dragon slayer although for a while achieve such level of power? Natsu never done it,' Strauss thought was still busy attempting to understand what had just happened to the mage with whom they fought with this strange woman.
Elfman after getting out of building stood stunned for a moment as he looked at the lying on the boards remains being. One of a pair of limbs was cut in half and the other was missing spikes on both ends and from both was oozing gore. Also through her torso stretched quite seriously looking wound that bled much harder. Then he looked to the side and his amazement reached next level.
Golden-haired wizard despite his muscular physique looked quite battered and wounded. In many places, not only lacked covering his body previously scales but also skin that has been digested by acid. 'Despite being in such bad shape still managed to pull out such a powerful attack. How many such monsters they have in their guild yet?'
He walked a few steps and looked with the half-awake gaze over the rest, who seemed to be surprised by the state in which he was. Then again faltered in the past few minutes and knees but then felt his limbs lose their strength and fall down completely. Poison... That slayer so many times hit him with her poisonous or corrosive attacks that now almost every movement hurt and felt like every moment effects worsen. Why show up now enemy slayer using such annoying kind of slayer magic of all times?
"It's obvious that it is talented mage. Though such a shame that is already exhausted," commented Ikari looking toward the slayer lying next to him.
"Khe, Khe. You saying I'm exhausted?" she slowly began to rise when the wound on her chest was slowly closing leaving only a slit dress, through which could be seen her regenerating body.
"Interesting magic," commented seeing her self-healing body when she looked up and sucking in air then used acid dragon’s spit to attack all nearby, which were still standing on their own feet. All but Elfman was still too distracted by her arrival to dodge the attack.
"Ice-Make: Battle Axe," ignoring the burning sensation from the wound somewhere on the abdomen Akira has created yet another weapon and began to spin it around him trying to hit one of the two dragon slayers. Samson partially destroyed it by punching with still covered with dark blue diamond’s fist and then Natsu with well aim kick boosted with fire destroyed the rest of his axe.
At that time Strauss jumped toward the spitting acid mage, which bounced off. For the next few minutes both was trying to outwit other and land a direct hit, which was difficult enough because of great agility and speed of movement that both had.
"Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon’s Fist," Inferno unwatched by the rest jumped towards Kanna, which reacted too late. After a long time of receiving storm of fire reinforced magic strikes with multiple wounds some partially burnt in few places she flew back until bumped into one of the Raven brothers. Erza turned her weapon at him sending a stream of ice; however as if waiting until the last minute created around him a dark barrier that completely stopped the attack.
"Imitation of ice dragon slayer magic can’t do a lot to me," he made a fun of her, when he felt a piercing pain in his back and bent a little while yet bleeding wound on his back made itself remember about.
"Still I managed to hurt you," she replied firmly.
"Lucky shot. That's all," coughed a bit of blood that he spat in front of him.
During this time after one of tries Elfman’s managed to land one of the hits causing her to fell back slightly dazed. Stopping to take another swing, which almost reached her between the two of them, appeared almost out of nowhere a massive, covered with many wounds and missing pieces of skin bleeding silhouette.
"No," said breathing heavily golden-haired mage and staggered lightly when he made a sudden movement to balance accidentally splattered around a little of the flowing down over his arms blood. "From now on it is a matter between two dragon slayers."
Before white-haired mage could say anything ice slayer hit him with a pretty hefty blow throwing him away and then just hit her too while also knocking back.
"Khe, Khe. You made mistake disturbing us," she laughed when with difficult to follow the speed was next to the red-eyed mage. The ends of the spikes were now impaled into his body with two of them managed to go all way thru and out of them slowly began to drip blood.
"You think so?" He coughed a little blood as soon as his hand grabbed her by the throat and even though her limbs were still stuck in his body slightly lifted her off the ground so that their bladed tips tilted slightly widening wounds.
"You'll die first. So much venom circulating in your body," she whispered even though virtually he was crushing her throat.
"Two options," his voice was so quiet she could barely hear him. "Either you give up now and we’ll decide your fate."
"Or what?" she looked straight into his red eyes.
"Death," he said and began to slowly tighten the grip. "You still don’t deal me a serious injury. If you just don’t pull out those spikes out of me I'll kill you. Your choice," for a while ceased slow crushing of her neck. At that time Akira turned toward him and slowly began another chant and Inferno used Dark Capprico trying to hit with it Erza, which ducked before the attack.
"Well there will be two problems solved at once. Ice-Make: Diamond Cage," around the golden-haired mage and held by him slayer started to form ice just the moment when she pulled without haste all spikes.
"Hmmm. This supposed to stop me?" red-eyed magician gave Ikari a cold stare when around him started to appear again blue aura. Here and there on his skin began to form scales, air moisture around him started to condensate almost just by freeze from been close to him and to all sides began to disperse almost imperceptible cool breeze.
"This spell can’t be stopped. It’ll kill you whoever you’re," laughed Ikari and turned to Samson chanting ice prison spell.
"I know the spell," Natsu rubbed his eyes to see the second time in the last day’s diamond cage. Also felt slowly growing energy surrounding a giant mage in addition to the effect that his magic has started to affect its surroundings. There wasn’t any spell spoken but he never heard that any dragon slayer can start releasing so much power at once from its own body.
"Seems more of you becoming unable to fight," laughed Inferno when he created a dark barrier. "Moment. This energy. I know it from somewhere," turning saw a familiar aura associated with activated dragon force as well as the emotions another mage was experiencing further intensifying the effect. "Akira kill him," with commanding voice shouted to his companion.
"Brother please don’t do it. It can kill you," with synch both ice slayers cried and in their eyes you could see fear, dread, surprise and admiration all mingling in one paralyzing them feeling.
"Why? But he wouldn’t run away," said casually Ikari slightly surprised by the reaction of both mages.
"Too late," laughed red-eyed mage when ice covering it slowly began to crack.
"This. It. Not. Possible. How does he done it?" God slayer was stunned before putting himself together began to gather between his palms a ball of energy.
"Ice God’s Cage," around the golden-haired mage began to form hundreds of spikes made of black ice.
"That's all you know of ice god slayer magic?" he laughed when releasing held female slayer still trapped in the ice and throw out of range of the spell that still was incanting Ikari. Moment later god slayer smashed the ball and all the spikes immediately flew toward their target. For a moment a place where their struck was shrouded a light mist when something flew up from it her with a stream condensed air moisture following it.
"Damn," cursed Akira when object fell next to Inferno and turn out to be a golden-haired mage wholly covered in blue scales and still surrounded by a blue aura.
"Ice Dragon’s Spike," has created a much larger spike and with full strength hurled it into the barrier that separates him from the fire slayer. Under pressure cover shattered into dozens of pieces but stopped ice shard after it slightly stuck in Inferno body.
"You won’t kill me or you don’t believe that you can kill me?" immortal slayer asked directly spitting in the face of the other mage blood, while unseen encircling one of his hands with dark energy. "Dark Delete."
"Again you'll die," said giant mage jumping partially out of the way of missiles, after which each of it struck left another wound, which only worsened the situation by adding another place where he was bleeding. But with each hit area which wasn’t bleeding or been cut or missing portion of skin was shrinking at an alarming rate.
"Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon’s Fist," suddenly appeared next to Inferno Natsu and began to attack without pause shorter fire mage ignoring splashing around after each stroke blood.
'Damn, he’ll die again. I have to. I have to take the crystal and hope that he won’t choose me to be his new host body, ' Ikari fast ran to place where fell barely alive, abundantly bleeding from all wounds after Dragneel attack Inferno and turned to the rest of said pre last spell. “Ice-Make: Ramp.”
A huge wall of ice separated them from the rest when formed quickly from ice sword and not thinking long cut open body of his companion just only to quickly get to the guts. He reached out to the full of blood and other body fluids cut, and began to search. After search for a while he felt between fingers a small crystal and grabbing into slippery fingers began to quickly pulling out. Then the flames in the eyes of short mage began to fade until only left a blank dead stare. 'Till the next meeting,' said Akira mentally and quickly walked away disappearing between nearby buildings. After he began to run away diamond cage, which was still on the humanoid slayer began to weaken and slowly fall apart.

Next chapter: The consequences of our decisions

A/N: A little action packed chapter (and somewhat longer too). If some feeling a little lost when action split to three seperate sub-battles here's hint: it split when huge ice slayer punch that female insectoidal slayer throu wall inside some building and all three connect again while he punch her (I know again ^^) outside building. Between those two points all happening at the same time. Hopefully it didn't turn out all too messy and chaotic in the end to read throu.
A/N v2: Well some more slayers got some moment to shine and others type of magic also was used (whole chapter title hinted some of those types)
A/N v3: Also a short demonstration of capabilities that posses most promising among youngest Azure Dragon mages. He isn't entirely human so shouldn't be weird he's stronger than other (fully human) mages ^^
