Somehow, I don't know exactly how...this chapter turned out
to be more about Ikki & Shaka rather than Hyoga & Shun. =0 It is the
party for the Gold Saints. Disclaimer: I don't own Saint Seiya.

Chapter 11 – Party
Present Day
Hyoga had spent the better part of the
week helping Shun organize the grand thank you party as well as offering
assistance to his lover’s medical and recovery needs. Determined to be up and
about, healthy as could be for the party, Shun’s perky attitude warmed his
husband’s heart. “Did you get a hold of Camus?” Shun asked while Hyoga
arranged a few helium filled balloons.
“Yes, I finally did. He is a pain to find
sometimes. Even Milo doesn’t always know exactly where he is.” Hyoga frowned
at the gold and white balloons when they did not stay in the corner he placed
them in.
“What does he do in Siberia?” Shun inquired,
curious about Hyoga’s mentor.
“He used to train there, now I think he just
uses it as a place to retreat into a sort of meditative solitude. He keeps to
himself, very opposite of Milo.” Hyoga smiled as the balloons finally
cooperated.
“I hope Shaka and Ikki have fun.” Shun
smirked, amused with the image in his mind of Shaka trying to seduce his older
brother.
“I’m sure they will, they always do.” Hyoga
noticed Shun’s smirk and sauntered over, wrapping his arms around his lover’s
waist.
“Do you think we have time before the guest’s
start arriving?” Hyoga nuzzled his nose in Shun’s hair, smelling the sweet
scent of shampoo. Shun wiggled his hips, teasing Hyoga.
“No, we definitely do not have enough time!
Ikki will be here any minute and the kids are home.” Shun scolded playfully,
always embarrassed when they managed to have sex while their kids were in the
condo.
“They are in their rooms, listening to loud,
painfully awful music. They won’t hear. Plus, Ikki has a key. He can let
himself in…” Hyoga offered his special smile, one that he reserved for times
like these, when he was trying to seduce his lover.
“Eep!” Shun squeaked when Hyoga’s hand
squeezed his butt.
“Later…after everyone is gone, I promise you
can do all sorts of dirty things to me.” Shun batted his eyelashes innocently,
smirking when Hyoga groaned in sexual frustration.
“Be ready then…’cause there are a lot of dirty
things I want to do to you tonight.” Hyoga sighed, easily persuaded to wait
until later. It actually worked to his benefit, giving him more time to decide
and plan exactly what dirty little things he would do to Shun.
Ding dong. “See, we have guests!”
Shun kissed Hyoga quickly then headed for the door. Hyoga readjusted himself
and prepared to entertain their guests for the evening.
Everyone had been invited and almost everyone
had confirmed that they would attend. The party would be held at their condo,
something they had never attempted before. Saori had offered the mansion, but
Shun wanted the cozy atmosphere of his home instead.
Shun opened the door to find Ikki holding a few
boxed trays of finger foods. “Seiya is downstairs, he’s waiting for Miho to
park the car.” Ikki said as he entered, setting the food down on the dining
room table.
“Why isn’t Seiya parking the car?” Shun
asked, feeling it was odd that he was making Miho do it.
“Miho always drives now…after the incident.”
Ikki chuckled.
“What incident?” Shun asked, not having heard
anything about this before.
“Seiya lost the car, the car keys, found it
at the pound after he parked in a tow zone then rear ended someone, ran over a
curb, started cursing and drove the wrong way down a one way street.” Ikki
recalled.
“Yeah, all in the course of one afternoon.”
Hyoga finished, both Saints laughing while Shun’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Wow, I never heard that!” Shun was clearly
amazed.
“Basically, Miho revoked his driving privileges
until he gets it together.” Ikki opened one of the boxes and grabbed a carrot
stick.
“Seiya has always had a strange temperament
while driving. He battled the windshield wipers once…unfortunately, he lost.”
Hyoga joked, getting a chuckle out of Shun.
“Don’t mention the wind shield wipers though,
he’s still sore about it!” Ikki burst out laughing. Even though they were
joking, the battle of the wind shield wipers had actually happened and Seiya
still was licking his wounded pride over it.
***
Half an hour later, quite a few guests had
arrived, including Mu, Kiki, Saga, Kanon and a variety of other Gold Saints.
However, one was noticeably late and Ikki fidgeted nervously because of it. It
was unusual for Shaka to arrive late, since he was normally punctual.
“He’ll come.” Hyoga placed his hand on Ikki’s
shoulder. The darker haired man looked to his brother-in-law.
“I wasn’t worried.” Ikki smiled.
“Maybe it is time for you to two to stop being
so hard headed and just take the plunge.” Shun came up, talking to Ikki about
Shaka.
“Maybe.” Ikki said softly, looking towards the
door for the fifth time in a minute. Both Shun and Hyoga were taken back by
Ikki’s response, usually he was much more argumentative or just avoided
questions about his feelings for Shaka altogether. This was unusual indeed.
The doorbell sounded with a simple chime and
Hyoga winked at Ikki before going to open the door. Sure enough, Shaka had
arrived, making more of a dramatic appearance than was his reserved style. The
blond was dressed in a rather sexy getup, but yet still managed to look refined.
Ikki’s jaw tightened as he swallowed hard,
unable to recover from the sight of Shaka in perfect fitting, black hip hugging
pants. His white shirt was looser, resembling his usual tunic, but modified for
style. Overall, he was radiating youth and beauty, still looking like he did
twenty years ago.
Hyoga greeted Shaka with a short bow and a
smile. Shaka returned the gesture and then reached his hand out to something
behind the door. Ikki fidgeted with his hair nervously, tucking it behind his
ear and scolding himself for being so anxious. Shun gasped, causing Ikki’s line
of vision to return to the entrance.
There, Shaka stood with a ravishing brown haired
man hooked onto his arm. He was introducing his guest to Hyoga, who looked
rather dumbfounded as Shaka continued to smile and chuckle with his ‘friend.’
Shun looked at Ikki, seeing the hurt in his brother’s eyes. If there was anyone
out there that could complete Ikki, it was Shaka. And this…was a disaster.
“Ikki…um…could you help me in the kitchen
please?” Shun asked, struggling to find any excuse to get his brother away from
the painful sight. It was obvious that Shaka’s friend was a lover from the way
they were attached to each other.
Ikki looked to the floor briefly then to his
little brother. “Sure thing.” Even though he acted normally, he was a
trembling mess inside.
Hyoga quickly joined them in the kitchen after
pointing Shaka and his guest in the direction of the other Gold Saints. Shun
was frantically piling mini sandwiches on a plate, babbling nonsense to his
brother. “And if they eat all these, then we have some broccoli in the fridge
and we can chop it up and maybe serve that. Although, broccoli might not be a
party favorite, it is very good for you. People just don’t get enough greens in
their diet and…”
“Shun, stop rattling about the food!” Hyoga
cut him short. Both Ikki and Shun looked to the blond.
“But they need to eat!” Shun countered, giving
his husband the look that said, ‘Ikki’s upset!’
“Shun, Shaka brought a date…a DATE! His name
is Loren and he’s training to be a Silver Saint and…” Hyoga was really worked
up, also disappointed.
“Hyoga…it’s okay. Shaka can do whatever he
wants.” Ikki said softly.
“What? Aren’t you upset?” Shun prodded.
“How can I be upset? If he’s happy then that’s
great.” Ikki was trying hard to hide his real emotions from them.
“But he knew you would be here!” Hyoga was not
willing to let it drop so easily. He knew how painful it was to love someone
from a distance.
“Yes, he did. And if you’ll excuse me, I
should go say hello to my old friend.” Ikki exited the kitchen, leaving Shun
and Hyoga to worry for him.
He found Shaka talking to Mu, the ‘date’
standing by his side. The other man was very attractive and Ikki could easily
see why Shaka would be dating him. Although, Ikki could never remember a time
that Shaka dated anyone…it just was not in his personality. The only
explanation then was that Shaka must have finally found someone he really
loved.
Ikki felt his chest tighten in stress. Putting
his hand over his heart, Ikki wondered if this is what heartache felt like. It
had been so long since he had allowed himself to feel real love for anyone, not
since Esmeralda had died. But in a way, he had always loved Shaka. Shaka was
the only one who really understood him.
“Ikki.” Shaka smiled and made his way over to
him.
“Shaka, so good to see you.” Ikki forced his
lips into a smile, for they would not turn up naturally.
“How have you been?” Shaka asked as the ‘date’
trailed up behind him.
“Good, better now that Shun is home and
recovering. We had quite the scare with him.”
“I am also glad he is doing better. Such a
tender soul should not be extinguished so easily.” Shaka’s eyes twinkled like
they had in the past when he flirted with Ikki.
Ikki swallowed hard again, feeling
uncomfortable now that the ‘date’ was standing shoulder to shoulder with Shaka.
“Oh, this is Loren. He is my friend.” Shaka
said casually. Loren nodded his head as if to say hello.
“I didn’t know you kept friends so close to you
Shaka.” Ikki gritted out before he could stop himself. He knew his jealousy
was blatant.
Shaka did not waiver or seemed surprised. “I
generally don’t. But then…it is easy to keep them close when they do not run
away.”
Ikki could feel his face heating up, he knew
Shaka was referring to his inability to let the relationship flourish over the
years. Ikki had always kept the Gold Saint at an arms length. But, it was for
good reason, Ikki could not accept that fact that he desired the warmth and love
of another man.
Thankfully, Milo stepped up to break the tense
situation. “Shaka, when are you going to train someone else to be the Virgo
Saint? You know, you are making the rest of us look bad!” Milo teased.
“I will train someone when the position
requires a replacement. Until then, I am quite capable.” Shaka’s serious tone
only made Milo try harder.
“You’re just going to live forever, aren’t
you?” Milo said and Ikki took the opportunity to retreat into the kitchen.
“What happened?” Shun asked as Ikki leaned
over the counter, trying to regain his composure.
“Nothing.” Ikki said shortly.
“If you love him…you have to tell him.” Hyoga
chimed in.
Ikki turned a hard gaze at his brother’s
lover. “He is with his lover. I hardly doubt any declarations of love would be
accepted right now.”
“Does that mean you love him?” Shun asked
cutely, putting his hand on his brother’s arm.
“It doesn’t matter if I do or don’t.”
“It does matter! Listen Ikki, when Shun
brought that girl to his birthday party, I thought I had lost him forever. I
was angry and hurt and all my dreams were dashed in one instant. But, I still
loved him and out of pure frustration, I told him how I felt and it all worked
out. Right Shun?”
“That’s true. And I brought her just to make
Hyoga jealous. If you care about him, you have to tell him. He at least
deserves to know.” Shun added.
“Not everyone has the kind of love you two
share. Not everyone gets to be happy like that.” Ikki said rather forcefully
before stomping into the living room.
“Well, that went well.” Hyoga sighed.
“Do you think he’ll do it?” Shun asked as his
lover kissed him quickly.
“If he doesn’t, then there’s no hope for him
after all.” Hyoga had faith in Ikki’s feelings, even if Ikki did not.
***
Ikki spent most of his time with Kiki and
Shiryu, reminiscing about their early years. Shaka stayed close to his date and
Mu.
“Do you think they know of some secret fountain
of youth or something?” Kiki asked, admiring Mu and Shaka’s youthful
appearances.
“Doubt it, they probably use night cream and
lotion their bodies.” Seiya joined them, making a joke.
“Oh please! Now I have this image of Mu with a
green facial mask on!” Kiki groaned, taking a sip of his champagne.
“Hey Shiryu, you must have a thing for people
with purple hair because your eyes haven’t left Mu since he got here.” Seiya
added, loving to point out embarrassing things.
“If I ever did it with a man, I would want it
to be Mu.” Shiryu said quite seriously, causing Kiki to choke on his champagne.
“You’ve got to be kidding me! Did you know he
cracks his toes all the time? It used to drive me crazy when I was a kid!” Kiki
laughed.
“Mu, huh? Well, he does kind of look like
Saori, minus the boobs and all.” Seiya chuckled.
“I just admire him, that’s all. And I said IF
I ever slept with a guy. I don’t plan on it.” Shiryu reminded him.
“What guy would you sleep with Seiya?” Kiki
asked only to have the goofy man step close to him.
“Why…it would be you, dear Kiki.” Seiya
drawled, pretending to flirt. Kiki growled then laughed, pushing his friend
away.
“Shit, you can never be serious.” Kiki rolled
his eyes.
“What about you Kiki, who would you pick?”
Shiryu asked.
“Hmmm…probably you Shiryu.” Kiki said so
straight faced that Shiryu actually blushed.
“Oh…um.” Shiryu was at a loss for words.
“I’m kidding! Jeez, you’re hot and all, but
too much like an older brother for me. I would definitely pick Shaka’s hottie
boyfriend.” Kiki snapped his teeth like an animal and they all laughed.
Everyone except Ikki of course.
“I heard my name.” Shaka had strolled over to
the group, catching them laughing.
“We were just talking about…owww.” Kiki
groaned when Seiya elbowed him in the ribs, shutting him up.
“Ikki, would you join me on the balcony? I
would like to catch up.” Shaka’s eloquent tone melted the Phoenix Saint, who
still kept his position, not training another to replace him either.
Ikki nodded, unable to respond verbally and
followed Shaka onto the small balcony. The blond shut the sliding glass doors
behind them, drowning out the noise from the gathering inside. They were
outside under the clear night sky, alone.
“You have been distant this evening.” Shaka
sipped on his glass of champagne.
“Oh, I guess I’ve been busy with other
guests.” Ikki stumbled with his words.
“I was hoping for more of a reception from
you.” Shaka spoke honestly, staring into the sky.
“I’m not sure what you expect. After all, you
brought your own built in conversationalist.” Ikki muttered, looking at the
side of Shaka’s beautiful face.
Shaka turned his gaze to look directly at
Ikki. “And what do you think of Loren?”
“What does it matter what I think?”
“It matters, tell me.” Shaka always had a way
of trapping Ikki verbally into any conversation he desired.
“I can’t believe you brought him here. I can’t
believe you would flaunt him in front of me so casually and I really can’t
believe that you are asking me about it.” Ikki’s temper flared a little, but he
still held back from unleashing his full anger and jealousy.
“Are you jealous?”
“What do you care?” Ikki barked.
Shaka smiled and stepped closer to Ikki,
tracing his thumb along the dark haired man’s chin. “I know you are jealous,
but I want to hear it from your mouth.”
“Why?”
“Because.”
“No.”
“Ikki, why do you always push me away?” Shaka remained calm, still
letting his finger slide along Ikki’s jaw.
“Like I said, what does any of this matter?”
Ikki stood firm, refusing to show the extent of his emotions.
Shaka raised his eyebrows and then leaned in to
kiss Ikki’s supple lips. Ikki did not flinch or refuse him, but was slow to
respond. Shaka’s lips persisted until Ikki finally broke down and began kissing
him back. He always had a weakness for the gentle kiss of the Gold Saint.
“I’m jealous. I’m really fucking jealous. Are
you happy now?” Ikki pulled away, getting his wits about him. His eyes flashed
the hurt and Shaka could clearly see his emotions now.
“What are you going to do about it?” Shaka
challenged.
“I was going to…I was going to tell you how I
felt tonight, but then you showed up with that guy! So I guess I was right all
along. There really isn’t anything between us and if there was, you’d be with
me right now.” Ikki really wanted to kick himself for saying such childish
things, but then, his emotions had stopped maturing years ago when he was young.
“I am with you right now.” Shaka grinned,
touching Ikki’s face again. “And if I told you that he’s not my lover…what
would you say then?”
Ikki perked up at this, hoping that Shaka was
not toying with him. He should have no worries, Shaka was not the type to play
games or tease people for fun. “I would be very relieved if you told me that.”
“Would you still tell me how you felt?” Shaka
inquired.
“I’ll tell you either way. I don’t care what
you think. After all these years, denying how I felt about you because you are
a man…never connecting emotionally with women…I want what Shun and Hyoga have.
I want to feel that type of love with someone, but I know that my only chance
to have that is with you, because you are the only person that truly understands
me. And when I am with you…I feel like everything is right, everything feels
good. I wanted to tell you that I am finally ready to try because I know now
that everything I just said, means that I love you.”
Shaka’s eyes opened, he had been ready for a
declaration of feelings, but was touched by Ikki’s outflow of emotion and he had
not been expecting to hear ‘I love you.’ Their eyes reflected the moonlight as
they stood silently for a moment. Shaka smiled big and addressed his lover.
“Ikki, Loren is not my lover. I brought him
here to make you jealous. After all these years I finally realized that I
needed a better motivation for you to step forward. I remembered what you had
told me about how Hyoga and Shun finally got together, Shun had brought a fake
date to make him jealous. I would not have thought of such a trivial idea on my
own, but I figured it was worth trying at least once. There is no one I care
for more in this world than you, Ikki.”
Ikki was dumbfounded by Shaka’s secretive plan,
never having guessed the Gold Saint would do such a thing. “You remembered that
I told you about how they got together?” Ikki was surprised by this tidbit as
well, considering he had told Shaka about it as they lounged in bed together,
the day after Hyoga and Shun’s wedding.
“Of course, I remember everything you have told
me.” Shaka seemed perplexed that Ikki would think he forgot.
“If he’s not your lover, then how did you get
him to come here?” Ikki asked, still a little nervous. If Shaka was single
then Ikki had a bigger problem than being jealous, he had to deal with a real
relationship!
“He is actually a candidate for the Virgo
Cloth. I have decided to train my successor. He was training to be a Silver
Saint, but he has great potential to be a Gold Saint. I simply told him it was
part of his evaluation to attend this party as my date.”
“You told him that! Shaka! That poor guy.”
Ikki laughed.
“He agreed without question. I believe I have
decided he is the best option. He is very dedicated to his meditation and quite
popular with the other Saints.”
Ikki sighed, amused by Shaka’s thought
process. “So what does this mean?” Ikki asked, hesitant again.
“I do believe you confessed your love to me.
Your best course of action would be to complete the transaction.” Shaka’s tone
was strong and steady, as usual.
“You really drive me crazy, you know that?”
Ikki chuckled, not used to people being so straightforward about their
feelings. Usually, the women he dated played games and called him all sorts of
names when he pulled away. However, none of them sounded like a robot spitting
out data quite like Shaka managed to do.
“I know.” Shaka’s smile was infectious,
especially since smiling was not a common occurrence with him.
With that, Ikki closed the space between them,
taking Shaka’s face into his hands. He kissed his lover softly at first,
building up the intensity between them slowly. Ikki was the dominant lover,
therefore, he was the one to take the lead.
“I am quite satisfied with my experiment in
jealousy.” Shaka murmured, sinking into Ikki’s arms. The party was long
forgotten as they held each other on the balcony, declaring their affection for
one another in the most basic form, kissing.

Sorry, no lemon in this chapter!
I may not do an Ikki/Shaka lemon in this story since it's not really about them,
so, it will be back to Hyoga/Shun next chapter and I will start wrapping it up
now. Thanks for reading!
