Migraine My Butt
Title: Migraine My Butt
Author: Jigoku no Miko
Author’s Quote: All speaks for itself in due time
***** The next day Keisuke, Kana and Tetsuya all set out once again for Morioka to start their investigation on weather Takiko Okuda was disappearing from “The Universe of the Four Gods” and their world forever.*****
“Ah, Miaka we haven’t found anything pertaining to Takiko but we’re still looking.” Keisuke’s voice came from the other end of the portable pressed to her ear.
“Right, if you find anything else out please tell me. Say hi to the others for me and Anaki? Arrigato. Oyasuminasai.” She whispered before turning the phone off and sitting in the darkness as she had everyday when she came home from school.
*****
Keisuke put down the phone and sighed heavily.
“Is she okay?” Kana questioned from where she sat on the couch. Tetsuya sat across from her in the chair while Toki was in the kitchen making tea; Keisuke sat down next to her.
“I guess, she sounds okay I’m still worried about her though. With the way she gets depressed I’m worried she’s not eating right.” He whispered leaning back and looking at the ceiling.
“She may not eat like usual but I know she’s eating something at least.” Tetsuya whispered, he was worried about Yui; she hadn’t answered the phone the last two days he had called. “I’m worried about Yui though, she hasn’t answered her phone.”
“You afraid she went off and got a boyfriend or something?” Kana mocked before he glared at her.
“No why would I be?” Tetsuya squinted his eyes though you couldn’t tell through his sunglasses.
“Never mind.” She sighed sitting back on the couch but sitting forward again holding her head. “Owe.” She whispered shaking her head with her eyes closed.
“Kana, you okay?” Keisuke whispered setting a hand on her back. ‘You know who I am, you must help… you must help us. Onegai Kanashimi! ONEGAI!!’ A voice yelled in her head but she couldn’t recognize it. “Leave me alone!” Kana yelled before the pain was gone leaving her breathing heavily. Looking up Tetsuya and Keisuke looked at her with cocked eyebrows and open mouths and she noticed Toki had joined them and was also looking at her with a questioning look.
“What… was that?” Keisuke questioned before she leaned back on the couch again.
“Migraine?” She whispered with a hopeful smile, they all eyed her for a moment before getting into a conversation about tomorrows round abouts.
*****
The next morning everyone was at Morioka City Hall looking for files that might have some scrap of evidence that Takiko had existed in that world. Tetsuya came wobbling down the hall with a stack on papers in his hands and set them on the table in front of the other three.
“And there’s more where that came from.” He stated matt-of-factly.
“Yeesh.” Keisuke rolled his eyes. A man that worked there came up next to Takiko who was sitting across from Keisuke and Kana.
“Did she really exist?” He questioned before Tetsuya pinned the man up against a shelf of books by his collar.
“She WAS there that’s why we’re looking! What if Yui disappears next??” Tetsuya yelled before Keisuke peeled him off the man.
“Calm down Tetsuya!!”
“Lets check out Takiko Okuda’s grave.” Toki suggested before they all left the hall.
“Is something bothering you about the grave?” Keisuke questioned once they were in the car and back to the cemetery. Arriving Toki kneeled next to the grave and felt it.
“As I thought it’s disappearing as well, no doubt about it.” He whispered before Kana felt strange energy around her but not like before.
‘Please listen to me Kanashimi, you must destroy him. Takiko and I, we will be erased but your worlds will be saved.’ The same voice from the night prier echoed in her head.
“Can we check out Suzuno’s grave?” She whispered before Toki looked at her confused but led the way to it.
“How? But why?” He stammered to himself as Kana sighed.
“It’s disappearing too isn’t it?” She questioned and he nodded.
“Miaka…” Keisuke whispered worried his sister was next.

(AN: Okay I’m not really writing what’s happening in “The Universe of the Four Gods” but I just thought this was funny and couldn’t resist plus these are my favorite characters!)
Chichiri and Tasuki walked down a vacant dirt path that lead from one village to the other, Chichiri was about twenty feet ahead and Tasuki was getting slower.
“Oh, I’m beat!!” Tasuki complained stopping.
“You have to walk faster no da!” Chichiri turned and looked at him hopelessly.
“Hey how far is it to the next village anyways?”
“Assuming someone walks at a normal pace they’d reach it by nightfall.” Chichiri rolled his… eye… and turned back to the open road ahead of him.
“Nightfall!!!!! Come on Chichiri take that tunic of yours off, spread it out and just pop us over there! Then we’ll get a drink at an inn with some pretty girls!” Tasuki collapsed on the ground and pointed to a small shaded area before picking up a conversation between himself and a “pretty girl” that was only in his head. “Oh sir your so handsome I’m in love with you! Oh I’m just a wandering traveler if you get involved with me I’ll just break your heart you know? Oh your so mean!” He rejected himself before Chichiri got fed up and hit him in the head with a stone knocking him on his back. “What’s the big idea!!” Tasuki yelled rubbing the bump that was rising on his head.
“Quit acting like an idiot and start walking!!!!” Chichiri yelled giving
him a “your beyond help” look.
“Yadaa!! YA-DAA!!! I’m not walking anymore! YADAA!!” He collapsed on his back and began kicking like a two year old, even though two year olds don’t have fantasies about the “pretty girls” in their heads.
“Ohn…” Chichiri sighed heavily in defeat.
(AN: Don’t kill me I thought it was cute but now back to the story at hand, wait that was part of it wasn’t it? Oh well…)
*****
The three went home that night; Kana went home with Keisuke though to see how Miaka was. Keisuke was unpacking his bag while Miaka sat on the floor looking at a picture of Takiko Okuda’s grave and Suzuno Ohsugi’s.
“Anaki, these are…” Miaka whispered not believing how small the headstones now were.
“Yeah, the graves.” Keisuke whispered buttoning up the shirt he had changed into.
“But when we saw them last…”
“That’s how it is now, by tomorrow they’ll probably be even smaller. It means somebody’s definitely opened “The Universe of the Four Gods”, that’s why Takiko and Suzuno are being erased from existence. It’s like they never existed in this world in the first place.” Keisuke summed before pulling something out of his suitcase. “Oh! Here take these, nambu rice crackers, eat them all if you want.”
“What? What are you talking about? You’re acting weird and at a time like this…”
“Especially at a time like this.” He cut her off. “I’m going to get that book back no matter what and save Tamahome and you Miaka. What are you supposed to be doing right now? Sitting around crying? No! No matter what you have to eat and keep up your strength because you, the human eating machine are the almighty Suzaku no Miko right? No one can beat you.”
“Oni-chan…” Miaka whispered before crying in his arms.
“Don’t give up you hear me.” He whispered before the entire apartment began to shake. “An earthquake…?”
The two heard a scream come from the living room before the earthquake ended. Standing the two went to go see what Kana had yelled about. Keisuke froze when he saw the image before him. Kana lay on the floor; a puddle of blood was growing beneath her head and there was blood on the corner of the coffee table. Keisuke ran to her side and lifted her into his lap; a laceration was on the back of her neck bleeding profusely.
“Kana? Kana wake up dammit! Stop playing around and wake-up!” He shook her lightly before the laceration turned a bright white and healed leaving only a small scar, the blood that had been on the floor also disappeared in a white light. Keisuke and Miaka looked at each other for a moment before Kana moaned.
“Uhnn… I think I just remembered why I hate Japan.” She muttered before Keisuke held her close.
“You scared me.” He whispered before she pulled away and looked up at him confused.
“Huh?” She whispered before taking sight of the tears running down his face. “You’re… you’re crying, but why?” She questioned.
“I came out to see how you were after the earthquake and you were unconscious and there was blood and I thought you were gone.” He explained before Miaka got up and went back to her room.
“Was I…dead?” Kana questioned, it seemed strange to say.
“No, but god Kana…” He kissed her forehead before holding her close again. “I don’t even want to think about what I would have done if you hadn’t woken up.” He whispered in her hair. She wrapped her arms around him.
“I’m sorry Keisuke.”

Yui stood in her apartment eyes closed, a green light beckoning her. Entering her room a book floated into the air, “The Universe of the Four Gods” to be specific and in a flash of light she was gone.
