Chapter 11: The consequences of our decisions

"It was such an refreshing experience," broke the silence Gianna and went to the giant mage, which no longer surrounded aura and seemed to be still conscious only through sheer force of will.
"It's over?" Erza looked up and noticed sadness on the faces of few dragon slayers while others had just disappointed look.
"The plan ends in failure," shortly said one of Ravens and started to check the status of the others.
"What about her?" he asked pointing to still sitting deformed slayer.
"With her?" giant mage stepped forward and looked at her. "Do you got any name?"
Silent for a moment until he said quietly. "Teana."
"Can we consider what to do next as we all get healed," Kanna went to the golden-haired mage and surprising rest hit him pretty hard in the side, "and especially you. I won't accept excuses that you are so strong that you can wait especially as I see the way you look. And why did you released major bulk of your power? You know that if you weren't in such bad shape it would destroy everything and everyone around?"
He didn't answer but looked around for a moment over all present who weren't slayers and then lost consciousness. After that ice slayers with Samson started repairs of bridge damaged parts while two purple haired girls started treat giant slayer. Half an hour later he was restored to its previous state.
"It was nice to meet you all. Anyone are free to come visit us in the future," Lionel seemed to feel like a fish in water moving among crowd slowly leaving the guild. Fifteen minutes took him to to bid farewell to most of the guests. Then there were then only members of the Azure Dragon and the group of Fairy Tail mages left in building.
"What is the state of those who battled with Inferno and the other two?" navy blue haired man asked purple haired girl.
"All of the guests who mingled in the fight are already healed. Only left to finish tending our own stil poisoned member," said Ayaname.
"And this strange slayer?" he looked out thru the window.
"We are looking forward to your decision. Though personally I don't know where came from idea of one of your sons to keep it alive under the control as member of the guild is appropriate," she said and then turned around and went back to the room where the others were still being treated.
'I must believe that my firstborn knows what means accepting Teana’s in our ranks,' he picked up the cup of wine. 'But why I worried about it? He beat her so if something would happen he going to kill her quickly and painlessly as possible.'
"Father," Arik entered the room, "I can take minute or two of your time?"
"Of course. So what is on your mind?" pointed to the chair beside him.
"I thought if it wouldn't be kind to show our gratitude in some way to that mages who helped in the fight today. I suppose we can found something that we could give them. If Inferno for a while will not leave this country we need to retain good relations with the local guilds, right?" blue-haired mage sipped wine from his cup.
"Yes, I think something like this would be quite a useful move. Besides possible that it wouldn't be just him we would worry about. So a good relation with other guilds would be appropriate. Did you managed to figure out which of the guild is currently strongest one in this country?" took another sip of wine.
"From the information that I could gather it's the one known as the Fairy Tail. Just now happen that their two mages mingled in the fight against Inferno and at that god slayer," younger Raven looked at held in front of him cup.
"So then it will be easier to convince them to support us in case of trouble," Lionel looked at his son. "Do I sense correct you got another idea?"
"Maybe. I was thinking about lacrima that will arrive soon or is already in the building. Choosing someone who isn't dragon slayer will prolong training using that magic," he reached for a bottle pouring some wine to his cup.
"Giving such gift to anyone is a huge risk," said senior Raven.
"Of course. But on the other hand, if such a person will know how much trust we bestowed into him surely will try not to disappoint our trust. In addition, if he is Fairy Tail mage it would beneficial us double. I could always track him down and forcefully bring him us to remove our gift," put down the cup after taking another sip." Among those mages who helped us was slayer. But the decision is your responsibility as a local master of the guild."
"I will consider it, son," said navy blue haired mage after drinking the leftover wine from his cup.
"Then I go to meet with our soon newest guild member," he said, getting up and moving toward the door.
"Remember if you see even a glimmer of treason kill her without mercy. If this happens I'll consider it as defense of guild interests," said his last words before the other man left the room. After a while, sitting in silence, he got up and went out on the corridor. After meeting one of the members of the guild gave him order to bring to the room on the top floor package that arrived in last transport and then to invite to this room several people, including one of the guests still remaining in guild.
"Here you are Natsu -chan," with a hint of flirtatious tone in his voice Gianna touched fire slayer, which was in the main room.
"What happened?" Replied Dragneel looking at the golden-haired mage.
"Guild master want to talk with you," she looked at the rest of his friends. "Unfortunately just you can go."
"What does your master want from him?" Erza interrupted. Gianna didn't look up at her when she grabbed pink haired mage by hand and started dragging him after her.
"I'm going with him too," said Happy and walked toward where she walked his friend.
"Maybe he wants to talk to him about that destroyed bridge," he teased Gray.
"I asked what they want from him," Scarlet began to get nervous and rushed after Gianna but stopped halfway at the invisible wall. "What's that?" She put her hand on wall and started to move from side to side looking for any breach.
"You didn't have to help me sister," said slightly disappointed mage with pink eyes when to room entered orange eyed mage.
"I just don't want our master wait," said calmly Kanna. "So go now. I'll try keep company for rest of them. And ask you to stay calm," she looked directly at the red-haired mage. When two wizards left the hall invisible wall has disappeared.
"So where he was taken?" with still raised voice Scarlet asked Yagyu.
"Unfortunately, it's a secret. All I can tell you that nothing will happen to him. It isn't our intention to have in your guild enemies," she said, sitting down on one of the chairs becoming close to the platform.
"Ouch," the little cat rubbed his forehead when at the time when he would walk through the door ran into some kind of barrier.
"Unfortunately, only dragon slayers or members of our guild can pass through the barrier set in that doorway," said casually golden-haired mage in his direction. "I hope that the party wasn't too boring," she said toward rest of the mages.
"Transformation magic," she said under her breath Erza.
"What do you mean?" She looked toward the red-haired mage.
"If it was not the same color of hair or eye would be difficult to recognize in you the beauty from party," said Scarlet commenting on the current ice slayer appearance. Former now we a petite tall girl with normal looking ears and eyes hidden behind her glasses.
"Clever. Not drawning much attention with current appearance," commented Cana before she moved away in search of another bottle of wine.
"That is your true appearance?" Asked Elfman.
"Figure it out," said with amusement Kanna tilting her head back. A moment later she looked in the direction of approaching her little cat.
"Try to check IT again and it will hurt," she said causing Happy stopping approaching her and walking around in wide arc.
At a time when Natsu left the rest of the friends in the great hall he was led by Gianna to one of the rooms on the upper floor.
"Welcome," Lionel began approaching pink haired mage. "I hope we didn't dragged you away to roughly from your friends. I'll try do this quickly so you can come back to the rest."
"What do you want?" Dragneel asked looking around over gathered crowd. They were people who he thought he had seen at the party earlier.
"I heard that you fought bravely today, not only with Samson. And I can recognize potential especially in dragon slayers," he reached out to one of the nearby men, who immediately hands over him wrapped in silk crystal. "I've got some interesting lacrima that I can offer as a form of gratitude for your today's achievements. Something that would allow you to gain an advantage if you happen to fight with other fire dragon slayer."
"You mean the whole Inferno, who was here today?" Natsu asked, wondering what exactly is meant offer Azure Dragon master.
"Too. But my boy you don't want to be in a situation where you will not be able to injure an enemy who wants you or your friends hurt or even killed," Lionel smiled slightly, seeing the reaction of fire mage when he mentioned friends. 'Perhaps he would be a good candidate."
"What do you want in return?" Pink haired mage felt that now come to the moment when the other mage will present some conditions.
"Nothing. Just knowing that I could prove my gratitude and help promising mage in developing of their talents will be enough," he replied when he hand over Natsu crystal.
"Cold," said fire mage.
"It contain ice dragon slayer magic. Enough that we place it in your body and after a short training you will be able to use this magic," Lionel sat down on a nearby chair. "Your choice if you will accept this gift. I'll give you a moment to think over about it."
At that time in hall below Kanna stood up and walked towards the main door.
"This time I think I'll have to take for a moment your friend," she said, looking toward the red-haired mage.
"You will be taking us one by one for chatting?" Asked Erza.
"No. Only you and your pink haired friend. So we going?" she stood waiting for Scarlet answer.
"Better it be fast," she replied and moved after golden-haired mage. After leaving the room they headed towards one of the small rooms on the same floor.
"You should find your way back and this is a modest gift that Master Lionel asked me to gave you," said Kanna. "Unfortunately we don't expect you refuse to accept it," said Yagyu and left the room.
"Time to see our soon latest member?" asked Kanna waiting outside golden haired giant mage.
"It's inevitable," she sighed and they walked toward the stairs. In the room where she was placed before they came in they already heard the muffled moans and screams. Concerned quickened their pace and went inside ready for anything. Inside they found apparently writhing in pain Teana, which despite obvious suffering was trying to be quiet. After what seemed to be stretched to infinity Teana's skin she started to crack in several places revealing her new look.
"Very unusual looks," commented Yagyu looking at other mage.
"I'm sorry if my metamorphosis might surprise you. Neither I nor the one who conducted the experiments on me wasn't sure if it will happen," said with groggy voice Teana. "So what will be my fate?"
"Contrary to popular belief is not that bad," Kanna slowly began to change her appearance returning to her original shape. Golden haired mage also began to change decreasing height and taking the form of a high blue haired and blue-eyed mage.
"You will be a member of our guild. You just have to decide where you want to have placed our sign," he said quietly holding in his hand guild mark stamp. Reaching with a bit wet with mucus or other secretions hand grasped his hand and slowly moved over her body.
"Here I wish to have," she said and after a while she had tattooed on the abdomen skin blue tattoo of a winged dragon. "Why have you changed yours appearances?"
"We often changing how we look for various reasons but you have to know how we look normal," said Kanna.
"Since you are now a member of our team," he said and quickly made the necessary presentation. "That charming beauty is Kanna Yagyu and you can call me Arik Raven."
"The fact that my name is Teana think you both know. So what now?"
"Now you should wash yourself and put some clothes on," giggled golden-haired mage. "Soon we will go do some minor work for the guild. Nothing special but there's always something to pass the time before start coming usual jobs."
"What's wrong?" Asked her Arik.
"Your wounds that I caused very quickly healed. I have not met anyone yet so quickly shaking off effects of my attacks, " Teana curiously eyed blue-haired mage.
"Actually bulk of healing was done by our guild healers but if it's any consolation I'll say you one thing ..."
"Yes?" that picked her interest.
"If a casual wizard suffered such injuries as I would soon have help from someone able to heal wounds and remove poisons or would die in two maybe three minutes or less."
"Mhmmm it's interesting," she said moving closer to him and bending her head whispered into his ear. "I chose you because I felt from the beginning that you were strongest of all mages there but unfortunately was too optimistic about my chances."
"Don't go near him so," Kanna let out warning hiss.
"Don't get worked so much. Don't treat him as your own property," said Teana and headed for the door. "So where can I wash myself?"
"I'll take you," said the golden-haired mage and both left the room.
Two hours later, six Fairy Tail mages Hargeon left heading towards Magnolia.
"I think you should move too soon," Arik said standing in front of the guild to mage next to him.
"Haven't got anywhere to go after my guild was disbanded," said Gajeel.
"If you want can stay for a few days with us. I don't think my father did some obstacles and you also will learn something about that fire slayer. Now each of us must know something in case of meeting face to face with Inferno. He's out there somewhere and only waiting for the right moment to once again show that he is not at all dead," Raven looked up at the sky.
"Only a few days but then I hit the road," said Redfox and they went inside. Leading Gajeel into the guests’ room he went to his own.
"What a day," said quietly to himself Raven closing the door and stood still with his back turned toward rest of the room while he said loudly. "Isn't it true?"
"Again, you know that I am? And all my surprise I prepared went out of window." A woman's voice answered him.
"You forgetting that for a long time you know about my heightened senses. Simply feel your smell when I opened the door. Why you came all the way here? Guess you had to give a reason to leave the Era personally and not use the thought projection." Turned around and slowly walked to his bed from where wrapped with blanket around her was looking at him a young woman with dark purple hairs.
"I said that I wanted to personally see the opening ceremony as member of Council. And so I'm here," she smiled slightly.
"I see that you are also make yourself comfortable already," he said seeing lying casually left on the floor some of her clothes.
"Only a little," she said getting up from the bed still wrapped in a blanket.
"How long do you plan to stay?" He asked staring to take off clothes.
"Definitely would stay for the night," she stood behind him and embracing with her hands clung to him. "Again you're so close to me. You not have idea how I sometimes miss it."
"It was inevitable turn of events when our paths diverged some time after he escaped from 'that' place," he turned to look her straight in the eyes. "Nevertheless I still believe that it is possible to save you from the darkness in which you are still dweling. And I'll be the last to abandon that hope."
"When my magic will be complete everything will change. Perhaps even what is between us too," she said and leaned caused their lips meet. Not resisting he opened his mouth wider letting their tongues meet. Manner that her kiss tasted reminded him good old memories. For a moment savored this moment before he broke kiss. A longer moment their lips connected the thin thread of saliva.
"Again surrounds you this distinctive smell," he noted slowly savoring her scent.
"So at least you know what I want," holding his hand slowly began to lead him towards the bed. When they got rid of the last of unnecessary items of clothing they laid down on the bed.
"Already falling asleep?" With noticeable disappoint whispered in his ear as she lay in his arms.
"I know, I know. But I had a pretty tough day. At morning I'll make it up for you, ok? You don't need to get on the way back straight in the morning?" He looked into her brown eyes.
"I don't. This is the promise with morning?" slowly moved edge of her finger across his chest. "You know how I tend to cruel if someone doesn't keep his promises."
"Of course I promise," he said and closed his eyes. If she knew about been a special person to him maybe she wouldn't doubt his word. Listening to rhythm of her heart, which could easily hear and breathing he soon fall asleep.
'This woman,' standing in the hallway Kanna clenched her fists. For a moment she stood before was certain that they both fell asleep and walked slowly to her own room.
