I do not own Digimon: Digital Monsters, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Finally?
LP and other fans: Okay, forget my promise for a pata/gato and a chapter on the shadow realm. It\'s just weird for this little Celebrist Christian, and the shadow realm thing is proving a harder scene to type. I will go over it a bit though, because it needs explaining what\'s going on in Cody\'s head. You\'ll see why. Sorry LP, but I just cant stomach doing the scene. I\'ll feel like a hypocrite in another chapter.
Chapter Twelve - "Finally?"
Interesting. The three are arguing, but where is Yolei? I was interested in seeing her reaction above them all. Maybe I\'ll lure her to this realm and run the others off, let HER rescue Cody. That bird-type won\'t penetrate the barrier I set up, but maybe I could make an exception. Or even better; I\'ll let them all save him and let them have a solace; but when I sense they\'re getting suspicious again, I\'ll launch the beta stage of my plan - and then cast another test of my fire theory for future use...Yes, doesn\'t that sound good, Wormmon?

Izzy, with a slightly more than terrified Jade clinging to him, was sitting comfortably atop his freshly digivolved Kabuterimon, the group flying along quickly. It wouldn\'t be much longer before they got to the nursery.
"Is there just the three types of Digimon?" Jade asked, as she thought what type Kabuterimon could be.
"Well, it\'s kind of complex. They have base types and other types. Kind of like there are black africans, black jamaicans, and black americans."
"I get it. The three are the base type, and the others are sub-types?"
"Exactly. There are only a collection of sub-types, but there\'s hundreds of digimon. There\'s beast, bird, aquan, dark, holy, dragon, machine, and insect/plant."
"I guess that makes my boy a dragon..."
"Jade, do you remember what the egg stage looked like?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"That\'s why..." he replied, as the insect digimon rose over the next hill, revealing what looked like a square mile of eggs.

"Cody\'sh not too far over thish bend, guysh." Veemon commented, keeping his eyes peeled on what little sky he could see. He could smell the evil over the hill; his dragonic nose granted him that skill. He could smell that castle miles away.
"Good, then we can rescue him and send Mister Right and Misses Stubborn home." Gatomon commented, her arms crossed over her chest. This was getting nuts; it seemed the two lovebirds were hitting a rough patch.
"STOP!" exclaimed a worried Patamon, whom had flown a little bit higher - not that he could go above the trees, but high enough to see far enough.
"What? Why?" Veemon spoke, stopping short and looking up at him.
"Because if we go any further, we\'ll run into six really angry looking Vermilliomon and eight Devimon in front of a six sided dark temple thing with dark energy radiating from it?"
"Vermilliomon?! The three of ush can\'t take sixsh Vermilliomon! Nevermind Devimonsh..." Veemon replied, looking to Davis for an answer.
"No, we can\'t." he replied, frowning. "We\'ll have to call Tai and the others in to back us up on this one. We\'ll need all the help we can get, maybe even Omnimon. This isn\'t going to be a pretty rescue, he knew we were coming." Gravely, they all knew whom Davis was referring to; this wasn\'t going to be a simple rescue mission after all.
"He knew we\'d come for Cody - He knew we\'d have to call the others for this type of defense - I think this is a trap. I\'m not saying we abandon Cody, but we need to rethink this." Kari spoke, glancing over in the direction Patamon had referred to, even though she couldn\'t see anything.
"I know it\'s a trap, Kari, But, Cody is young - too young to be in this situation. God knows what he\'s done to the boy. We\'re not going to hold back on this; we\'re going to digivolve to the top level and give an all-out assault. All for one, one for all. It\'s corny, but I am not pulling back now. You can go home if you want Kari, but I\'m not." Davis spoke in a very serious tone. Kari blinked twice; he\'d never spoken to her like that, least of all taken charge like that. Sure he was the leader, but...this was a new side of Davis, he was more - confident. Maybe it was this new girlfriend of his; she wasn\'t altogether sure she liked this change. "Kari, contact Tai, give him a stat call, and tell him to max the digimon." Kari nodded, as TK pulled out his messager and handed it to her. There was no sense arguing at this point.

Tai rocked back on his seat as the terminator on his TV fired off a round of bullets at the female terminator that seemed to have a vendetta against the male gender, and laughed deeply as the familliar plume of smoke floated through the air. He leaned over and hunched closer to the empty box of pizza, which seemed to be staring at him.
"See pizza box, I don\'t get that." he spoke, pausing to draw another drag from the odd green plant of insanity and deep thought between his fingers. "Women with guns. Who\'d be dumb enough to give a woman a gun? Why not, like, give her a car to drive? You get me, box? I mean, what woman drives straight in a line? It\'s hard enough for them to understand the contents of a tool box, nevermind fire a gun properly. It\'s like string. What\'s the meaning of string? Why STRING? Do you think the women with guns are after us men? I mean, really. You never see men having a vendetta against women who blow a hole in their head or whatever. Then again I don\'t think anyone can survive that. Maybe this chick on this movie is real, is she going to come kill me, box?" Just as his mind was about to move on to a stalker theory, the messager Kari had left him went off. He half-jumped, startled, but far too lazy to jump any more than he had. "Awww, don\'t tell me I have to get UP..." he complained, grabbing the messager off the table. "Tai - Hey, that\'s me!" he began, pausing to laugh that his name was on the screen. "There\'s been a change of plan - we need you to get the others and mega-level the digimon. We\'re launching a full scale attack. We need you stat. Love, Kari. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEW LOVE, GOOEY! Ha, I said gooey! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEY! Hahaha! Oh right, the others. YEAH FIGHTING! But that means I gotta get up...OOH! I should bring, like, Cheesies, and like, Doritos. Yeah! And, like, Licorice! MUNCHIEEEEEEEEEEES! Yay, off to call!"
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Okay, Jade. You\'re sure that\'s the one? If you grab the wrong one, we\'ll have to keep looking." Izzy replied, as Jade pointed to a blue egg with a horn coming out of the bottom.
"Yeah, I\'m sure. I designed it, didn\'t I? You don\'t think I\'d recognize what I drew an hour ago?"
"Okay, I\'m sorry. I\'m just making sure, Jade. Pull out your digivice, it should tell you if this is the right one. There are alot of eggs that look the same." Jade rolled her eyes, but humored the boy, and dug her hand into her pocket. As she pulled it out, though, something felt different about it.
"Huh?" she replied, pulling it into view.
"Well what do you know..." Izzy muttered, staring at the new, shiny, polar white D2 that ws resting in Jade\'s hand. It\'s screen was glowing. "You\'re new-gen, too."
"New-gen?"
"Yeah. You\'re not just my generation, you\'re Davis\' as well." he explained, as his cell phone beeped a text-message notice to him. He pulled it out, and began to read it.
"Does that mean I get to help out?"
"Absolutely. Now, not to rush you or anything, but I need you to grab that egg - we\'re needed on the battle front."
"Battle front? You mean we get to fight?"
"Well, I think we\'ll let you fall behind and watch for now - but yeah, I\'ll teach you how to do it for next time." Jade frowned, but she knew it was best. What she wasn\'t aware of, however, was the dire straights that the others had to be in to call on the old-gen tamers. Izzy nervously fidgeted with this information as Jade laid her hands on the digi-egg, which instantly began to glow a bright white light.

Armadillomon weakly looked up as a shadow befell his form. Oddly enough, there were several digimon lining themselves around the perimiter. He\'d lost most of the energy in his eyes now, and would soon degenerate - but, something was starting out there - the kaiser was buffing defenses. Were the others coming for them? Finally?
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Okay. Exveemon, Halsemon, Angemon, and Angewomon will work on a Devimon each. When Izzy gets here, we\'ll send him and MegaKabuterimon after a Vermilliomon with Ikakkumon and MetalGarurumon after another two. We\'ll have Lillimon and Birdramon in the air for support, and the others can fight the remaining digimon. When Tai gets here, we\'ll get him to take WarGreymon and knock out the others, then warp-digivolve him and MetalGarurumon into Omnimon to dismantle the barrier, if he can. Does that sound good to everyone?"
"Not quite!" Exclaimed an all-to familliar voice to Davis.
"Jade?!?" he exclaimed, flipping his head off to the beating wings of Kabuterimon, whom was landing. To his stunned shock, Jade was carrying a little blue orb of a digimon,
"Izzy, when I said show her a little about digimon, I didn\'t mean to BRING her here!" he exclaimed, dashing over.
"Honey, who is THAT?" he asked, peeking at the dark-fleshed digimon.
"PIIIIIIIIIJUMON!" it exclaimed, batting his eyes at Davis.
"Hmm. How\'d that happen?"
"I found a digivice, duh..." she replied, flashing the white D2. Davis\' mouth dropped.
"Well, you can\'t fight like THAT." he spoke to the fresh-stage Pijumon.
"Well no I can\'t, you friggin\' moron. Where\'d you figure THAT out? Elementary?" the tiny thing bit out. "Maybe it would be a plan to teach Jade to DIGIVOLVE ME?" Davis blinked twice. That thing has spirit.
"Well, Izzy and I were talking about that, actually. If we get him to his Champion Stage, Requimon, then he should be able to help out."
"A Champion can\'t fight the level of digimon that we have to fight, Jade."
"Requimon can. I designed him to have an attack that works on audio frequencies. It takes most of his energy, but, one should work long enough to confuse them. Izzy told me it should work. I might not know alot about all this yet, but Izzy does, and I explained the 2 attacks that Requimon has. The other one would be pretty well pointless against anything stronger, but same-stage would be obliterated. Requimon can\'t last long, but his attacks are powerful. It\'s because he\'s a dragonic virus type."
"Mmm. Davish, shinsh Patamon shaid the temple thing ish dark, then couldn\'t a virush type be able to get in?"
"By theory, yes, Veemon. But the question remains, is what exactly is this temple made of, and why can\'t Cody escape from it?" Izzy replied, looking rather thoughtful. "Perhaps we should move in a bit closer, and see what we can. I think it\'s best that for now, we leave Pijumon just as he is. Smaller is better, and easier to both protect and hide. The others should be along shortly, I also sent them a location as to where I found you."
"Hi guys!" exclaimed a happy sounding Sora, whom was followed none-to-shortly by Matt, Joe, Mimi, and Yolei.
"Sorry I wasn\'t here sooner guys, I had a major exam." Yolei explained, blushing faintly. Uncharacteristically, Tai sauntered along, bringing up the rear of the gang at a slow, lumbering pace, staring at leaves as he walked past them. He was a good distance away, still.
"What is going on with Tai?" muttered TK, whom had suffered a bit of Tai\'s odd behavior before.
"I don\'t know TK, but he\'s been really nuts lately. He\'s started talking to cereal boxes and contemplating the meaning of air..." Kari replied, casting a worried glance over at the teen.
"Maybe Tai\'sh in love like Davish?"
"Davis is in LOVE?" interrupted a highly curious Matt. Jade wanted so badly to kick Veemon, but Davis never let her get the chance, and slung his arm around her.
"Yep! But I doubt that\'s what the matter is with Tai. I mean, I\'m not talking to food and thinking about the meaning of things."
"No. But, we can talk about this later - right now, we need to get on the bandwagon of getting these digimon off the defensive. Jade, I think it\'s best if you hang back a little while - at least until there\'s an opportunity to let Pijumon try and get into that temple thing to get Cody free." Davis spoke. Unfortunately, as much as she wanted to get in there and fight, she knew nothing about it.
"Thanks for the vote of goddamn confidence, HUMANS. I already dislike your race. Jade\'s the only one who gets me." Pijumon bit out, closing his eyes stubbornly. Jade said nothing, and it seemed like everyone else was going to ignore it as well.
"Okay, lets head out and get closer." The gang followed Davis\' command, as Jade frowned and hung back.
"You know Jade, I don\'t think those guys area any good. They\'re all such goodie-goods."
"What makes you say that? I think they just want to do what\'s best."
"Well what do THEY know? The minute you told them I was a virus type dragon, they didn\'t trust me OR you anymore. Not even Davis, that lover boy of yours, doesn\'t want our help. Who are they fighting, anyway?"
"Izzy explained it to me on our way to get you, before we even started talking about digimon types. They\'ve got one common nemisis, this loon who calls himself the Kaiser. He\'s trying to dominate the digital world as King, and apparently, he\'s an evil genius, and has taken one of their friends hostage. They\'re trying to break him out and get him back."
"They\'re not even gonna kill him? That\'s LAME."
"Well, it\'s not like they\'re murderers. They just want to get that Cody kid back."
"That\'s absolute bullshit. Jade, let\'s go into that stupid castle of his, and kill him."
"I don\'t know how to digivolve you yet, remember? I think we should stray from the Kamekazi missions for now. Wait long enough for us to know how to fight before we start trying to kill the bad guy, okay?"
"Yeah, I guess so. But, I want to bite him so badly...HEY LOOK! Up in that floating castle, by that window. Is that him?" Jade flipped her head in the direction, and made out a vague figure watching the scene below as the tamers approached the temple and it\'s guards.
"I don\'t know. I can\'t see very well. He\'s got big hair and glasses, that\'s all I can see. Hey, look, he\'s holding something. What is that? It\'s too small -" Jade was effectively cut off by the jingle of her cell phone. "What the-? Here?" She flipped open the device, and answered.
"Hello, Jade." spoke none other than the ill-timed Ken Ichijouji.
"Hi, Ken. What is it?"
"I believe I owe you another interview. How about I take you for a proper dinner, and we can discuss it?" Jade blinked. He must have missed the article.
"Uh, sure. Yeah, I\'m free tomorrow night."
"Good, I\'ll pick you up at your hotel room at six." Pijumon prodded her a few times.
"Okay - Hold on." she clamped the phone to her chest. "What?"
"That Kaiser guy has a cell phone...." Jade\'s eyes widened. Ken was the evil guy?! Quickly, she gained her composure. She\'d have to tell the others quickly.
"Yeah, sorry. Tomorrow at six, sure. See you on the field, Ichijiouji." She hung up, and buried the phone in her pocket once more, and started after the gang at a quick dash.

AN: Sorry about the time gap for this chapter and the last. My last month has been nuts. I\'ll try and post more now. :3
