Hell and Healing
It's just a summary, really, of the story. Mello is going through hell from what Matt did to him, and now he has to recover. With Near's help, of course.

1. Missing
Because Mello's collar 'goes missing' in this chapter, and Mello is missing Matt a bit too much for his own good.
2. Abandon
Mello abandons his way of life as a lettered detective, and feels as if, by dying, Wammy has abandoned him.
3. Criminal
That's what Mello's treated like and, in fact, is in this chapter.
4. Magnets
Matt and Mello describe their relationships with a metaphor of magnets during the chapter.
5. Contact
Matt has contact with Light for the first time, and Mello's close contact with Matt escalates to near-violence.
6. Shanked
Mello and Matt get shanked.
7. Release
Mello's released from prison and tries to go under the radar again.
8. Hope
For the first time, Mello begins to see that there really is life after Matt, and that a master/slave relationship could actually be healthy.
9. Acceptance
In this chapter, Near shows that he accepts Mello in his entirety, including his haphazard attempt at Catholicism.
10. Giving
A lot of gifts are being given in this chapter, and things end on a happy note.
11. Forgiven
Because in the last few paragraphs, Mello forgives Matt. And then we get our happy, sappy ending. =3

Kaze: ^^; That's so flattering! I'm trying very hard to make Mello believable, and I thought that twist would be the most interesting for certain. I do plan on writing another, but to be sure that I don't disappoint, I'm going to finish it before I start uploading, then I can keep to an upload schedule and not leave people hanging for months. =3

Coby: I do take forever to update, don't I? Sorry about that! I'll be sure that my next story doesn't get chopped off right in the middle. I get a problem with that sometimes, if I have a plot bunny that runs out of batteries -- or if I run out of them. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'm also glad that the end of this chapter has a bit more closure. I'd feel bad if it were a cliffhanger for the next story. XD
