Chapter 13

Okay I don’t own any Rurouni Kenshin characters, how may time am I going to have to write that stupid disclaimer. +Burns disclaimer as soon as everyone reads it.+ Okay not really but you get the point. All other characters are mine unless I happen to state other wise. +Strikes a stupid pose with hand on chest, elbow-sticking out.+

I’ve Decide to g a different angle so another guy trying to get Misao to like her or whatever, no longer fits into the plot. Sorry I just want to end this soon, and well in order to do that I need to get the dang story moving somewhat. I plan to do a lemon next chapter and if I don’t yell at me k.

“I’m sorry.” Misao mumbled again as tears escape from her closed eyes. “I want to remember, I feel this ache. I’m not sure where or what it is?” A sob escaped her lips. “I want to know why I’m so drawn to you.” Misao laid her head on the couch pillow. Silent sobs shook her body as she drifted into an exhausted sleep.

Aoshi fisted his hand against the wall. He closed his eyes and pushed himself away from the wall. He headed upstairs to his room, ‘She’s the same as before the first accident’ Aoshi thought. His eyes looked down over the rail of the stairs then back to his dark room. He entered his room without flipping the light switch on and shut the door. He walked to the curtains hanging on the wall opposite of his bed. He pulled the golden cord that opened them and stared out over the lawn. The moons light casting its silver glow. Aoshi sighed once more and walked to his bed. He pulled his shirt over his head and then dropped it on the floor. He pulled the covers on his bed back and got into bed.

Aoshi lay down as thoughts flooded his mind. He tried to push them away, but they wouldn’t leave. Aoshi fell into a light sleep.

A MONTH PASSES

Misao awoke in the soft bed, she sighed as she snuggled into the warmth. A week ago her wound was finally healed enough so she could climb the stairs. Aoshi had offered a guest room to her. It was almost right across from Aoshi’s.

Misao sighed as a month ago they’d been trying to live together with her forgotten memories, now he hardly talked to her at all. He helped her sure, but it just wasn’t the same. Misao covered her mouth, as she felt sick to her stomach. She got out of bed as quickly as she could and opened her door almost running into Aoshi.

Aoshi stood outside the room he had let her use. He ran a hand through his hair, he’d pulled away from her, but she still tried to be his friend. ‘I need to tell her.’ Aoshi let a sigh of frustration out lifting his hand to knock when the door open and she almost ran into him. Aoshi looked down at her, his eyes widened as he moved aside and she hurried as quickly as she could to the bathroom. He closed his eye at the sound she made.

Aoshi quickly walked down the hall and glanced at Misao. She was on her knees on the floor, her head hanging down as her hands were on the toilet seat. Her eyes met Aoshi and she lowered her head again. “I’m sorry I didn’t think this would last a week.”

“I’ll make an appointment for you, at the doctors,” Aoshi stated flatly as he helped Misao up. She leaned her weight against him and sighed. Misao wrapped an arm around her waist to keep herself up.

“I feel so weak, I hardly ever get sick, I don’t know what could make me this sick.”

“The doctor will let you know.” Aoshi replied as he walked slowly out of the room. Misao seemed to stumble. Aoshi stopped and lifted Misao into his arms, expecting her to complain. Aoshi glanced down at her with his eyes only. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her head against the side of his neck. “I’ll put you in your room, and I’ll bring you some breakfast.”

“Okay.” Misao took a deep breath and smiled, ‘He smells so good.’ Misao kept her arms wrapped around his neck as he placed her in bed. Aoshi tried to stand up but stopped. His eyes met Misao’s. “I’ve always wanted to be held like that Aoshi.” Misao smiled. She moved forward and gave his nose a kiss. Aoshi blinked at her and then stood realizing she’d unwrapped her arms. Misao chuckled, as Aoshi left not even responding to her. ‘No matter how much he denies it, h finds my attitude alarming sometimes.’

Misao laid her head back against the pillow as she felt like throwing up once again. She closed her eyes and sighed. It was going to be another long weary day.

“Misao what did you want for breakfast?” Misao cracked her eyes open and looked to the door. She giggled at the sight, Aoshi in a frilly waist apron.

His cold eyes blink at her, ignoring her giggling.

“Pancakes with sugar and butter sound yummy.” Misao licked her lips, Aoshi quirked an eyebrow. “If it’s a bother, don’t worry about it, I guess....” Misao thought about it. ‘Those pancakes sound really good though. She pouted slightly at the thought that popped into her head. “Eggs would be okay.” Misao made a face that showed she didn’t really want eggs. A smirk came to Aoshi’s face and he left the room once again.

‘This isn’t going to be so bad.’ Misao thought as she hummed waiting for her breakfast. ‘Over the last few days Aoshi had kept his distance, leaving the house before I awoke, leaving me breakfast, that was somehow oddly really warm. Trudging down the stairs made my energy deplete it seemed, especially if I’d gotten sick.’ She shook her head and waited until the nausea passed.

________________________________________________________________________

That same day Misao sat in the waiting room of a Doctors office, her right leg over her left leg. Misao fidgeted in the chair, ‘It’s a pain to sit still.’ Misao growled in her mind. Her right foot was moving in small circles to keep her occupied. It wasn’t helping, Misao growled audibly.

“Misao sit still.” Aoshi glanced at her, from the corner of his eye. His eyes went back to the magazine he was looking over.

“I hate sitting still, can’t I get up and....”

“No,” Aoshi replied interrupting her. Misao huffed and sat back, only to stand up quickly wincing at the pain in her side.

“I can’t sit still,” Misao’s voice loud enough to have people staring at her. Aoshi yanked on her arm and she fell into his lap. Misao’s eyes were wide, as she felt Aoshi’s breath on her neck.

“If you can’t sit in your chair and stop fidgeting, then you can sit where you are now and be still.” Aoshi had no idea why he’d just done that, they had more attention now than before. Misao sat stiff on his knees. Aoshi’s arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her slightly backwards, so he wouldn’t have to lean so far. “Decide now Misao.”

“Uhhh,” Misao’s eyes looked around trying to find away out of this. “Umm,” His arms around her waist made it hard to think.

“Misao Makamachi.” A woman called. Misao’s eyes darted to the woman and Aoshi’s arms disappeared. She stood up and followed the woman back to the little room. “We have to do a few test then the doctor will be with you okay. Misao nodded and let the nurse do what she needed. She was left alone in the room to wait until the doctor came in.

Misao hummed lightly and looked around the little room. It had posters saying different things, and even a little thing with brochures in it. She looked over to the counter and eyed all the instruments there. It was always chilly in a doctor’s office no matter how warm outside. Misao ran her hands up and down her arms at the chill she felt.

The door opened with a click. A tall Female doctor came in with a smile on her face. She had long dark hair, the prettiest deep brown eyes. “Hi, I’m Dr. Takani.”

“I’m...”

“Miss Makamachi right.” Megumi smiled. Misao nodded at her stupidity. “Don’t worry about it, I do that to quite a few people. I always glance at your name, before I enter, it’s a habit.” Misao nodded as Megumi smiled and took a seat on a small stool. “So what’s wrong?”

“I’ve been getting sick in the mornings and I never have any energy, just walking up or down a flight of stairs wears me out.” Megumi looked her in the eyes as she talked and then glanced down at the file.

“It says here recently you were stabbed with a knife, right?”

“Yeah, it had a poison on it, and I don’t have any recollection of the last few months.” Misao’s eyes saddened as she recalled the night she’d first gone to Aoshi’s.

“I am sorry that that happened, however I don’t think your wound has anything to do with your sickness, I’ll look over it and then I want you to take a test. I only want you to take the one test, if it comes out negative, then we’ll have to do a couple more okay.

“Okay,” Misao cocked her head to the side.

“Lets get started shall we?” Megumi stood up and checked Misao’s wound. “It’s slightly infected, you haven’t been changing it properly have you?”

“Uhh, no I was told to have Aoshi help me, but something happen and well we’ve been keeping our distance from one another.” Misao explained trying to block memories out.

“Even with a misunderstanding you need to make sure your wound is cleaned regularly and the bandages changed twice a day so the infection doesn’t get worse. I’ll talk to this Aoshi as soon as the tests are done, and you decide what you want to do okay?

“Okay,” Misao nodded and then fell silent. The rest of the time Megumi didn’t ask any more she just instructed Misao on what to do. Misao followed her instructions and found herself left in the room alone once more. Megumi had stated she would be back in a little while. Misao got up and paced the room, having sat around enough for the day to her.

The door opened once again, wit ha smiling Megumi. “It seems my hunch was right, you wont have to take anymore tests.”

“That’s good, so what is it?” Misao beamed now standing in front of the chair.

A broad smile was on Megumi’s face and she spoke with joy. “You’re going to have a baby.” Megumi’s face dropped at the look of horror on Misao’s face. “Misao?” Megumi’s eyes widened as Misao literally fell into the chair.

I don’t know Megumi’s eye color so I put brown down. Also I don’t know what they do to see if you’re pregnant or not so I can’t say anything k. Also thank you Misao Mei Mei for the information on the morning sickness. I thank you so much. I am sorry this is so short but again I want to post the four chapters I have done.
