Chapter Thirteen
Aya walked along the beach while watching the horizon. He enjoyed the solitude as the waves washed over his feet and even though these quiet moments led him back to thoughts of Yohji, and the pain he felt from losing his lover, Aya couldn’t seem to stop reflecting on them. He kept thinking back to that day when Yohji had walked out, trying to see what he’d done wrong.
One conclusion he’d reached was that Yohji couldn’t have cared for him as much as Aya cared for Yohji, since the man had thought Aya capable of using him like that. But on the other hand, Aya had possibly figured out why Yohji had been so unlike himself that day but could never know for sure. Aya often wondered if things would have ended differently if he’d told Yohji how he felt. Guess he’d never know now.
Aya let his thoughts drift to his reunion with Aya-chan, to that afternoon when he’d gone to the safe house that she’d been staying at with Birman and Manx. He knocked on the door and his sister had opened it, surprise written all over her face.
“Brother? Is it really you?” She leapt into his arms and they hugged each other as if they’d never let go, tears streaming down both of their faces. They walked over to sit on the sofa, never letting go of each other. He’d thought so many times that he’d lost her, if not physically then to the coma. That she was here talking to him… Aya was in shock and couldn’t immediately speak.
“Yes, Aya-chan. It’s me. Are you okay?” He tenderly wiped the tears from her eyes.
She nodded her head and said, “Oh, yes. They told me I’d been in a coma for two years, but I don’t remember.” Her expression turned sad. “Mama and Papa are dead, aren’t they?”
“Yes.” He hugged her close and said, “I thought I’d lost you, too. I’m so happy you’re alright.”
“I was so worried about you when you weren’t there when I woke up.”
“I’m sorry, sister. I got injured and have been in the hospital,” he lied. Aya didn’t want her to know that he’d considered not returning to her life. But in the end, everything that he’d done was for her and he couldn’t stay away from his only family. Even if it meant losing Yohji, Aya thought as he blinked back fresh tears.
Shaking his head, he pulled away to look her in the eye. “Aya-chan, there is a lot I have to tell you, but it will have to wait. We’re leaving Japan in a couple of days and we’ll take a vacation for a month before going to our new home. During that time, I’ll let you know everything that’s happened the past few years.”
Aya-chan frowned and said, “Leave Japan? Why would we do that, Brother?”
Aya shook his head and said, “I’ll explain everything, but after we get to our destination. Will you trust me?”
Aya-chan hugged him tighty and said simply, “Always.”
As Aya skimmed a rock over the surface of the ocean he realized how special the bond was between him and Aya-chan. After they arrived on Maui and settled into their condo, she didn’t push him. The first three days were spent being together and adjusting to the time difference. On the afternoon of the fourth day Aya began his story. He didn’t hold anything back, not even the part about Yohji – without the intimate details. The two of them had always shared everything and that wasn’t going to change now.
Aya had told his sister that if she didn’t want him in her life anymore after hearing his tale, he’d send her to a boarding school until college and she’d never have to see him again. He thought she was going to smack him when he offered but instead, she hugged him close and called him an idiot.
Over the last few days they’d done their own thing for much of the day. Aya-chan had made new friends and she spent most of the time with them swimming and body and wind-surfing. Then the evenings were filled with plans on where they would live after their vacation.
They had decided to settle in San Francisco. There was a decent Japanese community where Aya-chan could go to school as she improved her English and Aya had plans to buy a small business to run. He’d figure out just what type once they arrived. There wouldn’t be any money worries. Aya had been saving most of his earnings from Kritiker after Aya-chan had been abducted and had managed to save a lot even before then. Manx had also bestowed quite a bonus into his account upon his leaving.
Aya sat down in the sand to gaze out over the ocean. The lush landscape of the island always brought Yohji to his mind, the verdant greens next to golden sand. He leaned his arms across his knees and lowered his head to them as he once more tried to control the pain in his chest when he thought of Yohji. The man was out of his life never to return. Aya just had to accept that fact.
*****
Yohji should be tired from traveling all night, but he’d gotten a few hours of sleep on the plane. Besides, the nervousness in his stomach wouldn’t let him relax. He was about to gamble his future happiness on the chance that Aya would forgive him. Yohji wasn’t stupid and knew that there was a chance that the man could very easily tell him to take a hike. But even with such a slight chance, Yohji would risk his pride and grovel for Aya’s forgiveness.
Although he’d admitted to himself that he was in love with Aya, he never realized how much. Yohji had loved Asuka, deeply, but it wasn’t even close to the feelings he felt for Aya. He had been depressed over her death and the way it had come about but had never felt as if his heart had been torn from his body. Every day he woke with a searing pain over Aya’s loss.
Only a few days ago, Yohji was wallowing in self-pity. Drinking himself to sleep every night only to wake with a hangover and repeat the process. He’d been doing that since the day he’d returned to the cabin to find Aya gone. Yohji had tried to locate where Aya had went, but no one knew or they weren’t talking. He was still amazed - and a bit embarrassed - when he thought about how he’d found out where the sneaky bastard had gone.
Yohji had been getting ready to head to the local bar to celebrate his release from the dreaded cast -not that he’d needed a reason to drink the past week- when his cell phone rang. He looked at the caller id and boggled when he saw Aya’s name and quickly answered.
“Aya! Where are you?”
“Excuse me,” a female voice spoke. “…but I think you are confusing me with my brother.”
Yohji took a moment to gather his scattered thoughts. “Aya-chan?”
“Yes.”
“How did you get this number?”
“I used my brother’s phone and he has your number programmed in. He left it behind when he went out for a walk.”
“Why are you calling?”
There was a long pause before an angry voice responded. “Why did you break my brother’s heart?”
“What?!”
“You heard me. What do you have to say for yourself? Did you purposely lead him on or do you really care for him?”
Yohji sputtered, incapable of speech for several moments as he tried to figure out how to answer the young woman. Finally, unable to lie, Yohji admitted quietly to Aya-chan what he hadn’t said to Aya, “I love him.”
“Then why didn’t you come with us?”
Yohji was taken aback at the virulent tone. “He didn’t ask me.”
“He said he tried but that you didn’t believe in him enough to let him get that far.”
Yohji’s mouth dropped open and his face flooded with color when he remembered that day and what he’d said to Aya. Then the color fled his face and he felt a bit sick. Aya had been trying to ask Yohji to come along and all he’d done was fling insults in his face. He groaned softly. Aya would never forgive him.
“Don’t you have anything to say?” For a girl he’d never met, she was making Yohji feel pretty small.
“I screwed up, didn’t I?”
“I’ll say you did, but I didn’t call to hear your confession. I want to know if you’re going to continue to break my brother’s heart or come and fix it.”
“It might be too late. Aya’s not the most forgiving person.”
“Of course he is. I thought you knew my brother better.” The derisive tone in her voice brining a the blush back to his face that he was thankful no one could see.
“He’s never been too forgiving in the past.” Yohji didn’t want to bad mouth her brother but the man had never been that magnanimous to the members of the team.
“Maybe that was true before he fell in love with you. He always forgives those he loves.” The words stated so matter-of-factly that he knew the person saying them was utterly convinced that they were the truth.
Yohji’s heart skipped a beat at Aya-chan’s words. Did Aya really love him? He was about to ask, but decided he wanted to hear it from Aya in person.
“Tell me where you are and I’ll be on the first flight out I can get.”
So here he was two days later, being driven by taxi to their condo. Aya-chan assured him that he could stay with them but Yohji had insisted that he get one of his own, just in case. A one bedroom condo had been available in the same complex that Aya was staying at, which seemed to be fate telling him that things may just turn out alright. After Yohji checked in, he quickly showered then dressed in a pair of shorts before picking up the phone.
“Hello?” A female voice answered.
“Hey, sweetheart, it’s me. I just checked in. Where’s Aya?”
“He’s on the beach as usual. Just turn right when you get there. Keep walking, you’ll find him. And Yohji? Tell Ran that I’m spending the night with Lizzie and her family. He’ll know how to get a hold of me if he needs to. Good luck. I hope to meet you tomorrow.” Her sweet giggle brought a smile to his face.
“Me too, sweetheart.” Yohji hung up the phone and headed toward the beach. He had butterflies in his stomach the size of bats but it didn’t deter him from going to find his love and trying to make the man his lover once more.
******
Aya suddenly felt as if someone was watching him. Trying not to act obvious, he slowly got to his feet and turned around. He stared in disbelief at who stood before him. Even though he shook his head in denial, the image remained.
“Yohji?” he asked softly.
“Uh, hi Aya.” The expression on Yohji’s face looked a bit fearful and hopeful at the same time.
“What are you doing here? How did you find me?” Aya still couldn’t believe that Yohji was here, in Hawaii. Were his precautions unsound since the man tracked him down so easily? Then Aya’s thoughts returned to Yohji and he was torn between decking the son of a bitch and hugging him tight. Aya forced himself to get his features under control and betray no emotion whatsoever.
Yohji didn’t say anything for several heartbeats then stepped forward until he was almost touching Aya. “Before you kill me, hear me out… I’m here for several reasons.” Yohji’s expression turned to one of remorse as he said, “The first one is that I want to tell you that I’m sorry for what I said the last time we spoke. I have no excuse. I can only say that when you told me you were leaving, it made me go a little crazy and I said some stupid things that I didn’t mean.”
He stopped to take a deep breath as if for courage, then continued. “The second is something I should have told you weeks ago. I’d decided to tell you that day, but well, you know what happened.” He paused to stare at Aya longingly with a hint of lust flaring in those eyes Aya adored. “I love you, Aya. I’ve loved you for a long time now and even if you send me away, I wanted you to know that.”
Hope surged though Aya before he smothered it. He’d listened to Yohji before only to have the man break his heart. Besides, what could Yohji possibly see in him to love? Yohji was the one that was beautiful and sexy and everything that Aya wasn’t. Aya knew he was nothing special with a temperament that left much to be desired. He wasn’t oblivious to his shortcomings even if he didn’t admit to them very often. “Why should I believe you?” Aya asked very quietly.
Yohji rubbed his hands over his face then looked at Aya longingly. “I’ve never lied to you, Aya. Ever. Please believe me now.”
Aya watched as Yohji lifted a hand as if to touch him but stopped short, letting it drop to his side. Aya’s heart was thumping madly in his chest but something held him back. The words Yohji had flung at him had hurt dreadfully, and Aya knew it was compounded by the fact that he loved Yohji in return. Only people who loved each other could cause such pain. Trying to buy himself a little more time before he launched himself into Yohji’s arms, he said, “Are there any more reasons?”
Yohji nodded, his expression not the confident visage Aya was used to. “Yes, there’s one more. I want to ask you to give me another chance. I know I don’t deserve it…”
Aya stopped Yohji mid-sentence with a kiss as he flung his arms around the man. He didn’t care if he was making a mistake. Aya felt as if he were alive for the first time since leaving Japan. Yohji was here, in his arms, kissing him breathless and he loved Aya.
Long minutes had passed when they finally parted, Yohji leaning his forehead against Aya’s. In a soft voice, Aya finally admitted, “I love you, too.”
Yohji pulled back to stare at Aya in amazement until the expression became one of such happiness and love that Aya knew he’d made the right decision in forgiving Yohji. His own face had to have the same expression on it. He leaned in for another kiss until some teenagers on the beach began making catcalls. Aya broke off the embrace, a bit embarrassed, but all Yohji did was grasp his hand and lead him back toward the condos.
“You still haven’t said how you found me. I didn’t tell anyone where we were going,” Aya asked as they walked back.
Yohji turned to look at Aya as he replied, “Aya-chan called me.”
Aya stopped dead in his tracks and repeated, “Aya-chan called you? How, when?”
“Well, it seems that someone told her that I’d broken your heart and said person left their cell phone lying around.” Yohji had a satisfied smirk on his face.
Aya felt a blush creep up his neck as he said, “I never told her you broke my heart… exactly. When did she call?”
“Two days ago. Omi helped me get all my things in order yesterday so I could catch a flight last night.” Yohji once more hugged Aya close. “I don’t ever have to go back to Japan if you let me stay with you.”
“But you love Tokyo.” Aya began to point out what his lover was leaving behind before he wondered why he was arguing when this was what he’d hoped would happen a week ago.
“It’s only a city. I’m in love with you, not a city. I’ll go anywhere as long as I can be with you.” Yohji’s expression was so sincere that Aya couldn’t doubt him. Over and over in the past few months Yohji had proven how much he cared for Aya. If he’d been thinking clearly himself, Aya would have noticed that Yohji’s reactions were off the day he left. Aya had realized after Yohji had walked out that day that the pain meds bottle was opened and Yohji had probably been drugged up when Aya had sprung the announcement on him. Aya had been too upset that day to think it through properly. It was only yesterday that he’d figured it out for himself when he was going over the events of that afternoon for the nth time.
“We’re going to live in San Francisco.” Aya then finished the sentence he never got to last week with a hint of apprehension. “Would you consider coming to live with me there?”
“There’s nothing to consider.” Yohji gave Aya a smile that held no trace of the man’s usual smirk and something tight within Aya’s check began to ease. “As long as you want me, I’ll be with you. Hell, even if you don’t think you want me, I’ll follow you and hound you until you let me remain by your side. You’re never getting rid of me, Aya. Never.” Yohji pulled him in for another kiss and Aya didn’t even mind the catcalls this time.
When they finally parted, Aya took the lead and soon they were back at the condos. “I guess it’s time for you to meet Aya-chan,” Aya said as he unlocked the door.
Yohji walked into the apartment and said, “Oh, I forgot to tell you that she said to let you know she’s spending the night at Lizzie’s and she’ll see us tomorrow. You’ve got a bright sister there, love. I can’t wait to meet her.”
Aya fought to keep another blush from appearing as he contemplated his sister knowing he was going to have sex and that he’d be much more comfortable without her there. He then sighed and figured he'd better get used to her being around soon if Yohji was going to be living with them because the two of them weren’t always quiet. Aya didn’t know what it was about Yohji, but the man made him lose control as Aya never had in the past.
Yohji gathered Aya into his arms again and soon they were kissing as they stumbled their way into the bedroom. Good thing Aya’s was closest to the living room, he thought as they pushed each others bottoms off. Nice thing about the beach, you didn’t wear much so there wasn’t a lot to remove.
Aya’s legs hit the bed and he was tumbled back onto the soft mattress. Yohji followed him down moments later and they resumed kissing and caressing everything their hands could reach. Even though they hadn’t been parted that long, the painful thought that they’d lost each other made them urgent to renew their connection through lovemaking.
When Yohji rolled so that Aya was on top, Aya used that advantage to wiggle his hips suggestively while sucking on Yohji’s neck. He shivered and moaned softly when Yohji raked his nails gently down Aya’s spine then grasped his ass in both hands to squeeze. Yohji spread his legs and Aya settled between them. He then thrust his hips forward so their erections rubbed tantalizingly against each others. Aya kissed Yohji once more, his tongue doing battle with his lover’s until he pulled back, teeth grazing the slippery organ as he did so.
Opening his eyes to look down at his love, Aya cupped Yohji’s cheek and took a moment to savor his lover in his arms again. Yohji tilted his face into the caress before placing a kiss on Aya’s hand and saying, “Fuck me, Aya. I want to feel you in me again.”
Aya was amazed that Yohji wanted to bottom. He kept forgetting that his lover enjoyed all aspects of sex and that he had actually enjoyed it when Aya had last been deep in his body. While Aya preferred to be bottom with Yohji, he was suddenly excited about topping him. Last time Yohji had done most of the work but today, Aya wanted to prove that he could please Yohji as much as Yohji did him.
With a slight nod of his head, Aya swooped in for another kiss while he buried his hands in Yohji’s wavy hair. When one kiss ended, another immediately began until Aya felt that he could no longer breathe. Trailing nibbling kisses along Yohji’s jaw, Aya tilted his head so he could nibble a soft earlobe then swirled his tongue into the whorl, whispering how much he was going to enjoy Yohji’s body before he fucked him, causing Yohji to groan loudly.
Aya licked a path from collarbone to jaw then fastened his mouth on Yohji’s neck to suck and nibble while one hand moved to pinch, then soothe with caresses, one of the blond’s nipples. He smiled at Yohji’s gasp and finally replaced his fingers with his mouth. Aya teased the hardened bud with his tongue then bit lightly as Yohji arched beneath him. Aya next suckled on the peak before moving to its partner to repeat the process. It was a good thing that Aya-chan wasn’t there as Yohji was voicing his pleasure quite loudly.
Yohji’s hands tangled in red hair as Aya began kissing a trail from sternum to bellybutton. Here Aya paused to lavish attention on the little indentation by dipping his tongue teasingly into the navel. Aya eventually moved lower until his face was even with Yohji’s impressive erection. He nuzzled the base and curls surrounding it while taking a deep breath to enjoy the musk his lover exuded. With a quick kiss to both cock and balls, Aya began trailing kisses and nibbles down Yohji’s thighs.
“Aya, you’re a damned tease.” Yohji growled out, causing Aya to smirk as he got up and moved to Yohji’s side while urging the man to roll over. Once Yohji was on his stomach, Aya lay down on top of him so they were touching completely, front to back as he threaded their fingers together. Aya tantalizingly rocked his dick into Yohji’s crack while he kissed his lover’s neck.
“Aya, hurry, do me now. I can’t wait. I’m so horny I’m about to burst.” Yohji ordered in a desperate tone.
“All in good time, Yohji. I don’t want to hurry this.” Aya levered himself so he could trail his mouth over Yohji’s shoulders and down his spine, nipping and licking his way until he reached the delicate swells of his lover’s ass.
Aya nudged Yohji’s legs apart to settle between them. He parted the firm cheeks before him to expose the small pucker hidden within. Aya licked the entire crack then he touched the tip of his tongue to Yohji’s hole. A strangled moan reached his ears as he pushed his tongue into the tight entrance. Again and again he speared his tongue into Yohji’s body as far as it would go as Yohji bucked his hips and chanted Aya’s name.
Finally reaching his own limits, Aya shakily reached for the lube he had in the nightstand drawer. He opened the bottle then poured some liquid down Yohji’s crack and, when it reached his hole, swirled it around the puckered skin with two fingers before slowly pushing one digit inside. Aya sucked in his breath at how tight Yohji was, but when the tension eased a bit, he pushed in a second finger.
“Ahhh….”
Aya stopped immediately and asked in a worried tone, “Does that hurt, Yohji? Should I stop?”
“Nooo… no, it feels good. Keep going.” Yohji managed to gasp out the words as he paused for breath a few times.
Aya leaned down to kiss Yohji’s shoulder then pressed his fingers in a little further. When Yohji rocked his hips back, Aya trailed his free hand down Yohji’s back as he scissored his fingers apart to stretch his lover.
He continued this for a while, pausing to add more lube, then finally Yohji said, “Now, Aya. I’m as ready as I’m ever going to be and I need you in me right this damn moment.”
Aya trembled as he applied the cool gel to his cock. Setting the bottle aside, Aya moved into position, nudging at Yohji’s entrance with his cockhead. He pushed back and forth a couple of time without penetrating, which caused both men to moan loudly. With a shuddering breath, Aya push forward very slowly. When the head of his cock slipped in, he paused to allow Yohji time to adjust before moving again. Aya was careful to pause any time that Yohji’s body tensed but eventually he was completely sheathed within his lover’s tight ass. Aya lowered his body until his chest was flush with Yohji’s back while snaking his arms beneath and around his lover’s shoulders.
He nuzzled the back of Yohji’s neck while waiting for an indication that it was alright to proceed. When Yohji demanded, “Move, dammit!” Aya smiled and knew he could begin. He gradually pulled his hips back until just the tip of his cock remained in Yohji then just as slowly pushed back in. He repeated the process over and over until Yohji began moving his hips back when Aya surged forward. When Yohji cried out sharply, Aya angled his thrusts to strike that same position with every forward motion. He might not be able to penetrate very deep from this position, but thankfully, that special spot wasn’t buried too far inside. Eventually, the movements became hurried and more disjointed as their cries escalated.
The pleasure kept building until Aya’s senses were completely overwhelmed by the body moving beneath him, the tight grip around his cock, the sighs, moans and cries from each of them, but most of all, the love he felt for Yohji. All this combined to culminate in a thunderous orgasm as he pulsed deep inside Yohji.
When his shuddering body could move again, Aya turned them both on their sides so he could reach Yohji’s cock. He wrapped his hand around the dripping length and stroked it quickly while Yohji bucked his hip wildly back and forth until he stiffened and cried out his release.
Aya continued to hold Yohji close as their bodies gradually calmed. He felt Yohji lift his come covered hand and sighed in pleasure at the tongue licking it clean. Aya could only smile when Yohji turned in his arms to face him. He noticed a similar expression on his lover's face.
Yohji leaned in to kiss him, this one filled with love instead of passion but just as, if not more, satisfying than the ones before. After the kiss ended, Yohji said, “I love you, Aya.”
Aya responded without thought, “I love you, too, Yohji.”
Yohji’s smile returned and he pulled Aya close. They stayed liked that, each lost in their own thoughts until Yohji’s stomach growled.
Aya leaned back to look at Yohji.
“What can I say? You take a lot of energy, love.” Yohji said with a grin.
Aya poked him in the side and snorted. “Yeah, right. Blame it on me.” He noted that the afternoon sun was getting low in the sky. “Why don’t we take a shower and I’ll take you into Lahaina for dinner where we can watch the sun set?”
Yohji smiled at him as he agreed, “Then we can come back here and spend the night making love. I like that plan.”
Aya smothered a smile. “I didn’t say anything about coming back here for sex.”
Yohji pouted and Aya only just kept back a smile as he tucked a lock of blond hair behind Yohji’s ear. “So, you mean that you’re going to ship me back to my own condo all by my lonesome?” his lover asked.
“Well, I guess since you’re going to be moving in with me anyway you could probably stay here and save the expense of your own condo.” Aya continued with a straight face, “Although we won’t be able to have sex until we get an apartment for us with rooms at opposite sides so Aya-chan won’t hear how loud you are.”
Yohji sputtered but finally got out, “What?! You’re just as loud as I am. And… wait until we move? When's that?”
With great effort, Aya kept his composure. “We’re here for another three weeks. Then it will be a hotel in San Francisco until we find a place to live.”
“But…but…” Yohji opened and closed his mouth several times before a dejected look came over his features.
Unable to keep up the teasing any longer, Aya relented. “Well, we could always try to be a little quieter.”
Yohji brightened up immediately. “We could. Or we could even get ourselves some gags and maybe some other toys.”
Aya shuddered at the thought of Aya-chan stumbling across the gags or any other items Yohji might decide to buy. “Ah, I think we’ll wait on that until I can find someplace safe to store them.”
Yohji grinned and said, “Away from a curious teenage girl’s eyes?”
“Hn.” Aya didn’t think Aya-chan would snoop but he didn’t want to take that chance. She’d always been a very inquisitive child.
Aya got serious all of a sudden as the reality of what they were about to do washed over him. He brushed back Yohji’s bangs as he asked, “Are you sure, Yohji? Really sure that you want this?”
Yohji looked at him, his expression almost angry as he said, “Don’t doubt me, Aya. I love you. I want to be there when you go to sleep and when you wake. Now and forever.” He paused before saying, “I could ask you the same. Are you sure you want me to move in with you?”
Relief swept through Aya. He hadn’t even realized how tense he’d been, waiting for Yohji’s answer. “I’m sure. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, too.”
When Yohji pulled Aya in for another kiss, it felt as if they were sealing those vows. Aya thought back over the past few years of his life that had held so much pain and sorrow, when he felt he hadn’t deserved to be happy ever again. Then his thoughts shifted to the past couple of months with Yohji and he knew that he’d finally managed to find that happiness despite what he’d done in the past. They might have some challenges ahead, but Aya felt that with Yohji by his side, he could face anything since he’d never be alone again.
~end~
